"Make a Roadside Jerk Stop While jerk grills steam away all over Jamaica—many of them roadside or at "jerk centers"—Negril serves up some of the tastiest and cheapest, on the go. One of the popular stops is Best in the West on Norman Manley Boulevard, a short walk from the beach. You can sit at the bar and relax while watching the world go by or you can take your food away, wrapped in foil and accompanied with a side of festival—fried flour dumplings—or french fries. Another great option is Three Dives Jerk Center, on the cliff side of town, starting close to sunset. Even though you'll need at least an hour or more, they have the tastiest jerk sauce in town. A close contender is Bourbon Beach, for their traditional wood-fire jerk chicken and pork. Night owls will luck out with "Step Aside"—you'll find this one-man grill outside Jungle Nightclub on the beach road, where he faithfully feeds revelers attempting to sober up after a long night of "bashment." You don't have to party to find him, just step out in the evenings and make a road stop, Jamaican-style."

The name says it all — Best in the West! I remember eons ago when this was just a tiny bar serving some of the best jerk chicken around. Now it’s a full operation, with expanded outdoor seating and even an upstairs area. The space may have grown, but the food is still on point. We had the curry chicken and curry shrimp — both absolutely delicious. The festival was a little doughy this time, but the curry more than made up for it. And don’t forget the soup — it’s hearty, almost like a stew. Comfort in a bowl. Pro tip: If you’re paying by credit card, ask to be charged in US dollars. You may save a few dollars — assuming your card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees. They also offer delivery for $10, which is a nice bonus if you’re feeling lazy but still craving something good. Still a classic. Still worth it.

A small Jamaican restaurant with great food! We went there upon the recommendations of locals we spoke with, and it was delicious. I had jerk chicken, salad and bread, my husband had the Barbi Chicken, rice & beans and bread. It was a lot of food and very tasty! Service was great. We sat upstairs and got a nice cross breeze. We enjoyed this real Jamaican food experience.

DISGRACEFUL SERVICE!!! This experience today reminded me of why I left Jamaica 17 years ago. Today brought tears to my eyes, to see how my people "JAMAICANS" have drifted in our concern and treatment of each other. I was served at the BEST IN THE WEST today like the maid who lives in the basement . Thank you Best in the West for reminding me that The roots of Jamaica is long gone. The Absolute worse Service I have ever received at a resturant in my 49 years on planet earth. I hope the management will train your staff and how to better accommodate t,hose Jamaicans ,who are hard working and not looking for a hand out. THIS IS WHAT I WAS SERVED IN A BOX SEATED AT A RESTURANT FOR A SUNDAY AFTERNOON DINNING. WHILE EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER WAS SERVED ON A GLASS PLATE WITH SILVER CUTLERY . THE POOR EXCUSE WAS I DID NOT KNOW YOU PLAN TO EAT HERE AT THE RESTURANT. I WOULD NEVER TREAT A CUSTOMERAT MY COMPANY LIKE THIS,BECAUSE SERVICE IS NOT ABOUT MONEY. SERVICE IS IMPORTANT ,BECAUSE "PEOPLE MATTER".

Burger King in Negril really surprised me! The food was fresh and tasty, and on top of that, they gave me a free lunch box as a gift. I’ve been to Burger Kings in many countries, but this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this. Great service and a very pleasant surprise!

Awesome local place to try great Jerk, pork was my favorite, chicken is great too. Shrimp were delicious locally caught, by I was told owner as he is a local fisherman. Very helpful staff, pleasant and kind to us tourist. PS. STRONG DRINKS lol excellent bang for your buck. 11,000 JMD or 80 USD

What a hidden gem! The food here was incredibly authentic and absolutely delicious — every bite packed with rich, bold flavors that felt truly homemade. Portions were generous, and you could tell everything was made with love. It’s a charming roadside spot, filled with locals, which is always a great sign. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and everyone we met was so kind and friendly — it really added to the whole experience. A thoughtful touch: they even provided us with bug spray, which shows how much they care about their guests’ comfort. This place isn’t fancy, but it’s full of heart, flavor, and local charm. Can’t wait to come back!

We had the jerk chicken and jerk pork. Both were tender and juicy. The jerk sauce might be our favorite in Negril! The festivals and rice and peas were just okay. The entertainment was just silly but overall a good experience. Prices were a bit higher than expected but we have found this to be the case in general for the area.

I love best in the west! We went here twice during our week long vacation in Negril. If you order the jerk chicken, you put the sauce on yourself which was a unique experience. The sauce is really good and you get plenty of chicken and the chicken is very tender. My partner also got the curry goat and he loved it. My biggest recommendation is their specialty drink the best in the west cocktail, it's a blended drink. It has such good flavors, it was my favorite drink I had in Negril. The vibe at best in the west is really fun and upbeat. There was live music playing, and our server was really pleasant to interact with. I enjoyed this place and I recommend it if you are visiting Negril.
