Best Western Arena Hotell

Very nice hotel, just 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Good breakfast, huge room, in fact it was a suite! and very friendly staff, specially Aida in reception.||||Good choice if you’re staying a few days in Vänersborg!

The Best Western Arena Hotell in Vänersborg is still in the throws of post-Corona, with their evening restaurant and bar being closed, and quite a few of the rooms unavailable for guests. But the staff is courageously keeping things running, and are doing a great job despite the difficulties. This can easily be a four-star experience once things get back to normal.

I have stayed at this hotel twice when my son has competed in swim meets in nearby Uddevalla. Vanersborg is a really nice little town right on the very large lake Vanern. The hotel is basic. Nothing fancy. OK breakfast. OK rooms. Nice staff. Don't expect anything special here but the price is really good when you book a while in advance. So, I recommend this hotel for all you budget travelers out there.

I was greeted with a smile and caring attitude. I always like smiling people. :) I tried the Bistro in the evening and despite the fact that they don´t have a chef the food was tasty. The room was abit uniq, but I´t had everything I needed for my stay. Internet worked great and my bed was comfy. In the morning when I came down stairs to the breakfast it was more then I expected. :) I´m very satisfied with this hotel and I will stay here again if I have the oppertunity.

Basic hotel which was clean with friendly staff, rooms large and surroundings quiet. Convenient to walk into Vanesborg, only 5-10 minutes on foot. Breakfast was pleasant with a good choice of bread, cereals, yoghurt etc.

Reception closes very early. “Because of Covid”. (Really? Still Covid is a reason?) You need to pass a quest to get in. Same gym and sauna. At 3 o’clock at night was ringing a fire alarm. Nobody was in the hotel to turn it off. The firemen did. As a result no sleep from 3 a.m. Breakfast on Saturday/Sunday from 08.00, I was leaving at 07.00…

This hotel is not very large but it offers what you need. Nice rooms (not large, though), good breakfast, free parking outside the front door, and a possibility to enjoy a drink with friends in the combined bistro/bar/reception. If you are a returning guest, they seem to track you by your phone no (or name?) in order to give you a friendly welcome, even if you never stated that very long membership number of Best Western when making your reservation.

The room was clean, had a decent size, and equipped with useful stuff like: water boiler, coffee, tea, candies ❤️. It is nice that they offer free parking and a decent variety of breakfast served in a cozy area. The staff was helpful and nice. I would return there.
