Great location, the hotel in new and just near the Besancon citadel. The breakfast is good, but not a lot of variety. The hotel has private parking.

Nice hotel, the location is inside the old town but at the southwestern corner, meaning you have to walk nearly half a mile to the real center. Still good. Nice rooms, but a bit small if you want to spend time in them.
Unfortunately, the Wifi doesn’t allow any VPN usage - why?? - so anyone in and near the hotel can monitor you access your bank account and so on. That would keep me from coming back - I need wifi daily.

Offers parking, but you must make special arrangements. Multiple buildings, lots of security, overall a great place to stay in Besançon. The name means fortress, but I think history has proven that the French are lovers not fighters 😅

Excellent hotel situated near to the Citadel and local restaurants. 5 min walk from the nearest tram stop. Reception staff (fluent in English) were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, French pastries, yoghurts, juices and hot drinks available. There is the main building where I stayed and an annex where some colleaues stayed...the annex has a seperate entrance next to the entrance gates and is right by the road and my colleague was woked at 5am by a rubbish lorry outside. No such problem in the main building where I was so would recommend staying in the main building if you can.

This hotel was nice and clean with very helpful front desk staff. The room requests were met to the last detail, which was greatly appreciated. ||The bedding was blissfully unfragranced and decent cotton - beds comfortable with extra pillows easily available. ||The only downside were the old air conditioning units that did nothing to keep the room cool at night which made for seriously sweaty evenings. Even though the nights cooled to around 16c by morning this made it extremely hard to sleep even with the window open. ||I can’t imagine how much worse it will be when temperatures get over 30c later in the summer! I’d have expected better from a Best Western on that aspect.

This property has everything one needs for a short stay. The interior is very cosy and homy. Room was well equipped and bathroom was brand new. Bed was very comfortable too. We've had a nice rest at night. Everything is very clean and well thought through.||||Breakfast was delivered to our room on time and in an organised manner. ||||Pierre and Klervie at the reception were brilliant and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. They have even helped to carry our bags to the room (we were moving and the car was full of bags that needed to be transported into the room). This was very sweet and kind of them. Furthermore, they were very polite and friendly. Excellent job. Excellent reception and first impression of the hotel. Management is lucky to have both of them. I've stayed in many hotels and this is not something normal to happen even in high-end properties.||||There is no restaurant in the hotel, but many nice places around. Easy to find something to eat.||||Highly recommend.

For once in France a hotel I really liked. Very friendly personnel at reception, the hotel is located just outside the centre with several convenient parking areas nearby. The building is historic and during the renovation it was decided to keep the old atmosphere and mix it with a modern decor. Really nothing to say about a pleasant stay. Reasonable price and in line with what was offered

Rooms were somewhat fine except for two major things: my room had a weird smell and we did not have hot water. Seems like the whole hotel did not have hot water since 2 of my work colleagues had the same issue. We reported to the front desk and they just told us the hotel had no water and gave no further explanation, expected resolution or a discount for the inconvenience
