7/9/21 check in.
Upon parking, we saw a cop scoping out a room as well as creepy-looking dudes on motorcycles hanging outside their rooms. The pool looked like a COVID petri dish.
We were given room 256. Upon entering, all looked good at first glance. We stepped out for the evening, came back around midnight and noticed two COCKROACHES near the refrigerator. We also found a bug in one of the beds, as well as BLOOD STAINS on the comforter. We also noticed hair on the toilet and dirt on the bathroom door. Not to mention the big gap in the front door, which I'm assuming is how all the bugs got in. The gap was big enough for a mouse to get in if they had any around the premises.
We went down to the front desk at 12:16 am only for RAPHAEL to rudely tell us they don't have any other rooms available. We took photos of the roaches, but he didn't even ask to see them. He said they'd come up and spray so, clearly, he/the building is aware that roaches exist on the property.
He would not offer to put us up at another Best Western. Instead, he said he'd give us a refund -- if we, two women visiting from out of town, "left the premises immediately" at 12:30 AM.
We obviously had no choice but to stay there for the night. In the morning, we went down to check out early, only to be told "there's nothing we can do" by a different desk employee except give us a $20 discount. For an insect-filled, dirty room, a pathetically small discount is not sufficient.
Unbelievable. We ended up finding another hotel in which the woman at the desk sincerely apologized for Raphael's behavior because, clearly, that is not the way the hospitality business should be run.
They've got some nerve advertising themselves as a 3 star hotel. It's a 1 star motel.
I've already reported this hotel to the local health department and I would implore any of you reading this to not stay there. Low price, yes, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I would gladly pay an extra 100 a night to stay at a cleaner establishment with more hospitable service from employees.
