The Best Western Hotel D’Arc in Orléans, France is a terrible option for many reasons but the main one is that our property was stolen and, after almost a week, the Hotel has done nothing to help us or compensate us. ||I booked a room there because my husband and I were very tired after traveling all day, Expedia said it had parking and I also saw that it was 4-star hotel (sounded like the option we needed). The first surprise is that it did not have parking: the receptionist tells you where to park but you have to pay the overnight city-run parking yourself. (10 euros more).||The 4-star rating is absurd. The rooms are quite small, the doors to the bathrooms are not proper doors, the AC does not work, they have a lobby coffee machine that does not work, and we were given a room which had a shower with a clogged drain and no soap. We asked them to move us to another room. They gave us the room next door, which at least had a functioning shower and soap.||When we left our room on the next day to have breakfast, our computer was stolen. I had it in my backpack, which I left in the room. The “do not disturb” sign hanged from our door. The thief entered the room, nevertheless, opened the backpack, stole the computer and its charging cord, and left the rest of the backpack intact. We realized our property had been stolen until we had left Oléans, and reached Paris. I immediately notified the BW Hotel D’Arc by phone. I called again the next morning, and the next… I have emailed them too. I even emailed BW France’s costumer service. So far, they have not done anything to help us, support us, or compensate us. In sum, a TERRIBLE experience. Avoid this hotel for your comfort, piece of mind, and the safety of your belongings!

The hotel is very well placed close to the train station and the center of the town. The staff was always very nice and friendly. I found it to be very clean and tidy, with daily room cleaning service. The décor was kind of old fashioned, but I guess this is the theme of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. ||As a downside, there is no hotel parking, you have a discount to a nearby parking, but is not a pleasing experience coming trough the rain from the parking to the hotel with the luggage. The rooms very pretty small, but well heated, but very noisy, I could easily hear all the doors on the floor and also the doors from the nearby rooms. Last thing, the breakfast was disappointing, short on options.

DON’T STAY IN THIS HOTEL. My personal computer was stolen from our room and the hotel is not offering any support. Full story: We stayed for one night, Saturday to Sunday in June 2024. I chose the hotel because its 4-star rating and because Expedia said it had parking. The first surprise is that the hotel DOES NOT HAVE PARKING, so the receptionists sends you to a city parking facility that you have to pay on your own. The 4-star rating is an overstatement. The hotel is old and needs renovations. The standard room we were given did not have soap and the shower’s drain was clogged. We asked for a change of room. We were given the room next door. We went out of the room twice, that evening for dinner and the next morning for breakfast. While we were out somebody entered the room, opened my backpack and took out the computer and its charging cord. We did not realized we had been stolen because we did not open the backpack until we had left Orléans and were already in Paris. So far, I have called the reception three times to ask about my computer, all that they did is to give me their email. I wrote an email but two full working days later, no word from them. We booked the hotel because we wanted to rest after a long day but the standard rooms are very small. A coffee machine in the lobby does not work. In both rooms the AC did not work at all. Not confortable at all, and worst, you get stolen!

For the price we paid it was an exceptional hotel. The bed was large, the bathroom was nice - big shower with good water pressure. The location is great - near the train station and a short walk to the sights. The outstanding thing about this hotel is the staff - most notably Victoria (spelling) who greeted us, called the restaurant where we had booked dinner to let them know we were running late. While the hotel has no parking, they have a deal with a local public garage - Mediatheque - that is about 500 meters away. You can just park as normal there and they will give you a card to get out.

This hotel certainly has a lot of oldtime charm and an excellent location next to the railway station and the centre of the city. Our twin room was quite spacious, particularly the bathroom. The personnel was really friendly and welcoming, but….|1. The weather was really hot at the beginning of our visit and aircon was truly needed. However, at least in our room it was quite inefficient and went off by itself. According to the personnel ”it sometimes does that”😮|2. Breakfast was quite disappointing, at least for someone who doesn’t eat meat and during the busiest times some articles ran out quickly. The breakfast room was really cramped.|3. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs! There was a tram line below our window, naturally making quite a lot of noise. Of course noise is to be expected in a city.||Would I come again? Probably not.

We arrived at this hotel very late with young children. The cot bed was not in our room as requested and sofa bed not out so had to our bed up and request a cot bed. Room extremely small for four people. Toilet was a tiny space separate from shower with a door with gaps down the side so no privacy and extremely extremely small. Shower room also very small.. shower didn’t even fit the shower and you couldn’t shower with the doors shut hence a flood on the floor. It was hot and air conditioning didn’t work. The small drinks fridge downstairs was turned off so couldn’t buy any cold drinks and water from bathroom tap was luke warm constantly and wouldn’t go cold. On a positive the bed was very comfy and the rooms were not noisy and breakfast was good. However Hôtel is next to a McDonald’s and train station and busy outside at night with lots of people hanging around so didn’t feel overly safe. Ok for a sleep but nothing more

LOCATION: Situated in the main street of Orléans, it was about 2 minutes walk from the station and about 10 minutes from many of the historic sights of the old town.||||ROOM: Large, comfortably furnished with a spacious bathroom that had plenty of space for one's own toiletries in addition to those provided. There were tea and coffee-making facilities plus a fridge. A table and chairs by the windows afforded a pleasant outlook over façades of the 19th century buildings in the main street with glimpses beyond. Laptop-sized safe.||||The cleaning was immaculate. Going past other rooms in the middle of the day before the check-in time, many doors were open as the carpets were shampooed when guests checked out so that like everything else, they were fresh and clean for new arrivals.||||BREAKFAST: A good selection including fresh fruit and cheeses for vegetarians (like me) plus eggs and an assortment of meats for those who are not. ||||SERVICE: A masterclass in hotel management led by Jonathan with all the staff from reception to housekeepers and breakfast staff welcoming and keen to be of service. ||||VALUE: The room rate was modest for the unbeatable 4 star accommodation.

We chose this hotel from the decent reviews and convenience of its location close to the railway station. We enjoyed our 1-night stay. The receptionists were charming and helpful. The room was large, bright and airy with a comfortable bed and all the necessary facilities and above all it was clean. It was quirky in that although refurbished it has retained much of its older charm, including an old-fashioned lift and luggage trolley, and decor that looks as if it belongs in how the film sets show bordellos including bright red bedroom doors!||It is just a short walk into the centre of the city, although as commented by others there is little in the way of restaurant choice in the immediate vicinity. The receptionists recommended walking down to the main square where there is a choice of restaurants.
