Best Western Hotel Dom Bernardo

Rooms are basic but have everything you need. Room is made up every day. Only thing missing from the room is any type of picture/art.. It's very plain but perfectly livable. The shower is big and the bathroom pretty modern. Staff are really friendly and helpful. It's around 10 mins to walk to restaurants so a good location.

The staff on reception were amazing, extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble , they go above and beyond to help make your stay a positive experience. The hotel is great but lacks outside space , and is on a busy road, it’s a little difficult to find as it is out of the down town area. It’s very clean and breakfast was great. Overall it provides a good base to stay .

We only stayed here for one night so booked a relatively budget option and had relatively low expectations. However the room was surprisingly large, the bed was very comfortable, the air con was fantastic and the room had all the necessary amenities. The reception staff were also very welcoming and helpful, they provided recommendations of places to go and things to do and were also available 24/7. would definitely stay here again.

This property is located at a walkable distance to the Faro Marina area (10min walk). It is very conveniently located to catch Uber or public buses. The Algarve Shopping Mall is just a 5 minutes ride, which gives you access to multiple food and shopping options. The staff is very nice and friendly, the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was just fine, given its just EUR 9 per person per breakfast.

We needed a hotel while we waited for our son to be transferred home to Ireland after a serious car accident. They booked us in for a week, but said that they would refund any unused nights if the transfer came sooner. When things got bogged down with insurance, they offered to extend our stay with a usually unused room if necessary. The hotel was very good, but the staff and management make it outstanding.

The manager and staff at this hotel are some of the best in the business. They bent over backwards to ensure my stay was safe and comfortable and to assist me with personal challenges that rose during the trip. They were very professional while also being friendly and deeply caring. Staying there was one of the hi lights of my trip and I will be eternally grateful for everything they did for me. Stay there! Great Hotel in a great location. Stayed here three times. Nice, small rooms newly, tastefully renovated. In walking distance to old town. Very friendly staff. Best of all, they have a huge scale in the lobby to weigh your luggage before flying off.

I stayed here two nights. The room was excellent, at the end of the corridor. I had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge with a bottle of water. The bathroom was nice also, it came with a small bathtub. Didn't use the 9 euro breakfast. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Bus 14 goes to and from the airport but I don't know its frequency. (Public transport is very chaotic around Faro with 2 bus stations instead of one.) The first night was quiet but the second one was not with a bunch of football youngsters arriving at 11 o'clock and making lots of noise. Too bad and not the hotel's fault of course.

This place could not possibly do more things wrong. Located ten minutes' walk from the Marina, in a very run down area (graffiti on neighborhood walls, doors, boarded up windows). The lobby reeks of years of cigarette smoke. There was a letter posted at the desk informing guests that construction was going on 8 am - 5 pm daily. This was not disclosed when we booked months ago. We arrived early for our 2 pm check-in, so we left our bags in a closet with the reception person and walked to find someplace else to stay! We returned at 2 pm exactly and were told ours was "the only room not ready." So we sat in the smelly lobby, overlooked by a sad, unattended corner where they sell chips and sodas. (No offer of water, a cookie, apology.) spent 30 min watching ridiculous music videos on the lobby TV with no updates from front desk. (Surprisingly, there is WiFi! From the surroundings, it looked like there might not even be running water.). We had to ask again and were told room was ready. Elevator is quite old, small and slow. Room 203 was clean -- the sting of the bleach immediately made our eyes water and throats itch. And this was with the window wide open. They had renovated this bathroom (with lots and lots of bleach. So disinfected!) so it sported brand new everything including soaking tub and bidet. One container of soap/shampoo my partner described as "industrial strength." Though the staircase looks out over the pretty church next door, our room surveyed and alley with some decaying homes. Big plus was the forceful A/C. I immediately needed a nap and flopped onto the crisp white sheets -- whitened with bleach. Bleach so strong it made my head spin and, after an hours rest -- left my skin feeling like I'd suffered chemical burns. That is not an exaggeration. Decor is nonexistent. They offer an electric kettle and instant coffee packets. There is a TV but I fear only seeing more of the dreadful music videos. Neighborhood itself seems quiet, but construction (hammering, buzz saw, workers talking) was ongoing and literally was in the wall where the headboard is. Great nap! we will have to spend the night here (I'm writing the review now in case the fumes overcome me in my sleep). We were able to book a beautiful new hotel by the marina with a pool and spa for the next two nights of our visit. I will be asking Best Western for a refund. The cookie store around the corner, Bakie, has amazing cookie selection, including an outstanding, chock full of chocolate and Nutella one, and a cookroissant dripping with slabs of chocolate. freshly baked. sweet and helpful folks.

Terrible. Under new management as of 12-10-14 and they do not know what they are doing. Front desk is dis-organized and do not have a clue. New management got rid of the only two people who knew what they were doing, Lisa and Frank. What a shame it has come to this. The hotel has one foot in the grave.
