Positive: Staff were wonderful. Old hotel but nicely maintained. Easy walking distance to Old Faro and all its beautiful attractions. Negative: Hotel advertised as "parking included." Well, yes, but I'm glad that he car that I had rented was very small. The provided parking spot is VERY tight. And seeing as I had a rental car where any damages would be paid for by me. I returned the car early.

Stayed here New Year’s Eve for the celebrations at the harbour. Nice clean hotel but grim view from bedroom window. Comfy bed . Could have done with a shower cap for the shower . Lovely ladies on reception desk . The lady on arrival gave us a map and had checked all the places that would be open for food which was a great help , another lovely lady on check out as well . Nice to have a locked room for luggage storage , which meant we could have a nice day prior to leaving for the airport hotel .

I stayed here for 3 nights. Loved it. An older hotel but modern new bathrooms in the rooms and public places. In fact my husband is going to copy the look when we get home. Alexandra and Claudia were lovely and professional. The cleaning staff were excellent. A little out of the way from marina, but only a 10 min or so walk, but perhaps not for the elderly as down hill. We like a walk. Nice supermarket across the rd where you can sit outside with the locals. Will come again, definitely. I have stayed in the big hotel on the marina, that had a swimming pool which was nice, but the rooms no different. For a couple of days, well worth staying here. Not fancy but lovely. Small lounge and bar area was very trendy.

Defintely was NOT a three star hotel. marginally a two star. The bathroom had rust and loose tiles in the ceiling and walls. There was one bottle of soap provided in the tub/shower that was supposed to be sufficient for shampoo, conditioner and body get - not possible. Bathroom had tub/shower with a straight curtain rod so the curtain stuck to you throughout the shower - at least provide a curved shower rod. Room temperature was difficult to regulate, had to leave window open and continually try to adjust thermostat. Had to ask twice for coffee pods and water cups to be replaced after room cleaning. Mini-frig was only marginally cool after I let them know it wasn't working at all, and there was no followup to any repair. On the bright side, they cleaned the room on one day even when I didn't leave and put out the please clean room sign until 2PM. I was surprised to find it tidied up when I returned!

My daughter and I are just about to check out of this hotel after a few days away visiting the city. |This hotel is a hidden gem! Font be fooled by all the bigger hotels, this hotel is just great. |The rooms are quiet, very clean with everything you could want or need. |We were in room 305 as Nd had a room only, although food options are available. |The staff are friendly and helpful and Claudia goes above and beyond with recommendations, tips, and anything you may need such as extra sugar for our coffees in our room.|We would highly recommend this hotel . A great price, easy reach of everything. |We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would certainly return in the future. |

We transited here a night before proceeding to Lisbon. It is a quiet small town with its own beauty. The hotel room is spacious as 2 middle size luggage bags can fully open and yet still unblocked to move in the room. Kettle is provided so did instant beverage. The hotel do serves breakfast buffet at 9€ per pax.

Lower end of the Best Western chain of hotels. But, clean rooms and curtious and informative staff. The location is strategic to all the restaurants and historical sites around Faro. Bus lines very close.

Nice hotel, walking distance from centre, free on street parking. From front door, turn left, second left (Alportal) downhill for 100m to O Alminhas cafe. Open late, very cheap, mains 10, wine 4 a litre. Turn right for food market and a supermarket and cafes. Recommended.

Yelp
This place could not possibly do more things wrong. Located ten minutes' walk from the Marina, in a very run down area (graffiti on neighborhood walls, doors, boarded up windows). The lobby reeks of years of cigarette smoke. There was a letter posted at the desk informing guests that construction was going on 8 am - 5 pm daily. This was not disclosed when we booked months ago. We arrived early for our 2 pm check-in, so we left our bags in a closet with the reception person and walked to find someplace else to stay! We returned at 2 pm exactly and were told ours was "the only room not ready." So we sat in the smelly lobby, overlooked by a sad, unattended corner where they sell chips and sodas. (No offer of water, a cookie, apology.) spent 30 min watching ridiculous music videos on the lobby TV with no updates from front desk. (Surprisingly, there is WiFi! From the surroundings, it looked like there might not even be running water.). We had to ask again and were told room was ready. Elevator is quite old, small and slow. Room 203 was clean -- the sting of the bleach immediately made our eyes water and throats itch. And this was with the window wide open. They had renovated this bathroom (with lots and lots of bleach. So disinfected!) so it sported brand new everything including soaking tub and bidet. One container of soap/shampoo my partner described as "industrial strength." Though the staircase looks out over the pretty church next door, our room surveyed and alley with some decaying homes. Big plus was the forceful A/C. I immediately needed a nap and flopped onto the crisp white sheets -- whitened with bleach. Bleach so strong it made my head spin and, after an hours rest -- left my skin feeling like I'd suffered chemical burns. That is not an exaggeration. Decor is nonexistent. They offer an electric kettle and instant coffee packets. There is a TV but I fear only seeing more of the dreadful music videos. Neighborhood itself seems quiet, but construction (hammering, buzz saw, workers talking) was ongoing and literally was in the wall where the headboard is. Great nap! we will have to spend the night here (I'm writing the review now in case the fumes overcome me in my sleep). We were able to book a beautiful new hotel by the marina with a pool and spa for the next two nights of our visit. I will be asking Best Western for a refund. The cookie store around the corner, Bakie, has amazing cookie selection, including an outstanding, chock full of chocolate and Nutella one, and a cookroissant dripping with slabs of chocolate. freshly baked. sweet and helpful folks.

Yelp
Terrible. Under new management as of 12-10-14 and they do not know what they are doing. Front desk is dis-organized and do not have a clue. New management got rid of the only two people who knew what they were doing, Lisa and Frank. What a shame it has come to this. The hotel has one foot in the grave.
