Definitely a budget option. Cons: - bad wifi - frontdesk not fully staffed 24h. past a certain point, you need to buzz them, and one time the staff was doing something else.. - keycard gets easily demagnetized from airpods case - didn't put any toothbrush/toothpaste in my first night and i had to go to 7/11 to buy my own Pros: - room was clean and quiet - breakfast was good

We were disappointed to find out that this Best Western was an older motel with BW branding. It had all the issues with motels: shabby furniture and carpeting (you couldn't even see the original pattern in the soiled traffic areas), thin walls and ceiling so you heard conversations and footsteps clearly, bright lights through the shades all night, and horns from the nearby train tracks. We booked this place because of the fridge and microwave in the room, but the fridge didn't even work that well. The pros were that the breakfast was good and the pool looked well cared for. Staff was helpful and attentive. It was also walking distance to some great restaurants, like Burma Spice and Noelani's. For the price, we will stay at a Marriott or something like that if we go to the area again.

The check-in was done on-line and when arrived everything was completed very quickly and efficiently. Room was clean and staff was helpful and polite. Breakfast area was clean and a variety of breakfast items available. We would stay again when in the area.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was there for medical reasons and had to keep extending my stay and they made it so easy. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is a bonus clean and sparkling. We stay here every time we come to San Francisco/Redwood City.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night after an appointment at the Stanford Medical Center. Everything was perfectly fine for our brief stay. Room was clean and in good repair, a mini fridge and microwave was put to good use, the front desk was friendly and helpful, good TV, bed a little soft but still comfortable. The free breakfast was nice, featuring scrambled eggs and sausage. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it was a good size and well-maintained. Be aware if you are here for an early AM Stanford appointment, El Camino Real going south toward Stanford is bumper-to-bumper at rush hour; allow extra time. Decent option for a reasonably priced hotel option near Stanford.

Yelp
We found a little gem! This hotel is not in an upscale area, however, we found a very upscale restaurant 500 feet away! It was a nice quick walk. Now to the other things that made this Best Western so nice: Very nice, modern clean room, albeit small. It had every convenience, microwave, small fridge, lots of workspace, plenty of places to "plug in", a comfortable bed and a very large shower with great lighting for make up applications! The staff, I cannot say enough about them! When we left, I found that I had left my prescription glasses there. Dimas and Carlos, the manager, went over and above what I expected! I had made a mistake trying to get a USPS pick up, and when I called the hotel to try to arrange another way to mail my glasses back, Carlos went out of his way to go to the post office and get them mailed back to me. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Yelp
Stayed here after my forced hospitalization last Fall. Nice staff and location is accessible to downtown. Check out my reviews on Google Maps for local RWC spots I love! BW is the only hotel I've currently got a loyalty program with.. currently.

Yelp
This BW is easy access between the 101 and 280, within a few blocks of the highway. Check in was easy and the front desk staff very kind and professional. As well as all of the staff that I encountered on my visit. My room, upstairs and in the back was quiet. The interior courtyard and pool area is secured and keycard entry controlled. With a monitored and well lit parking lot at the rear and side of the building. I was able to park close to the locked entry and in convenient proximity to my rooms location in the complex. The room was clean, with all the standard amemities you expect nowadays traveling, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, etc. The king bed was okay, but not great, more on the firm side than I prefer but okay. This is a decent nights rest, with fairly comfortable accommodations and a clean well maintained property. 3 Stars a good choice for the area 00741

Yelp
I stayed at the Best Western Inn during a rough time.. I live locally, and I met up with the manager " Bhavesh" He came across like a nice guy originally.. I stayed at the hotel for about two weeks.. I did not have any problems until one night someone above me was smoking a bunch of marijuana, into my room through the bathroom fan... I told the guy that worked the graveyard shift about it, and he refused to change me into another room, nor refund my money back or give me the hundred dollar deposit that I had put down so I could leave.. it was freezing cold out... I had the option to sleep in my car at that point or go back to the room. I went back to the room and got stunk out all night and felt awful the next morning. Honestly, the hotel itself was OK. Other than that one incident...Recently I decided I would come back to the hotel. Since I needed a room for the night. I found out that I was on the DO NOT rent list!!! The guy called the manager and Bhavesh, did not give me a reason why he would not rent to me, but basically told me to find somewhere else to go...UNREAL!! It"s total discrimination and profiling... I DO NOT Recommend this Hotel!!! ( Diamond member)

Yelp
I had a stay recently everything was ok until today 6/24. I had to extend the room for a few nights so I had 4 sets of keys which got mixed up nd I lost track of which keys work. I went down to ask the front desk gentleman (maybe he's the manager darker man with glasses) a simple question can I pay for a key that works.. some other guy came up beside me asked if he can get a key to my room (he did visit me for a few hours nd left 2 bags behind plus I felt. Uncomfortable with this individual when he visited me nd told him to leave that's why I told the front desk guy I don't feel comfortable with that he's getting a key into my room when I'm solo alone I had a REASON and the room is under my name nd I want the room to myself (he only visited to drop me something off I needed nd he left but for some reason wanted to pop back up nd get his things I feel like he was tryna get an excuse to get into my room he's a mutual friend ) the guy at the desk gave push back said he won't accommodate me anymore when I did nothing nd stated "u are always here every other week" in a snarky tone which isn't true for one he doesn't know why I need a hotel a lot it's not every other week if he really wants to know I have a tough living situation I shouldn't have to explain or even feel ashamed SO giving he doesn't know my life situation nd i have used this hotel often cus I LIKE it I've always had good experience but this gentleman made me feel so attacked nd for him to let someone else into my room when I clearly said I wanna be alone nd I even said I'll go in the room I'll get his stuff cuz I had my personal belongings in there nd I didn't want my stuff flaunted for the front staff to see the front desk guy even said I'll walk him in there like NO I have my belongings (nd I wanted to shower so I had my change of clothes out nd under garmers which I didn't expect them to barge in so ya I wanna be in there he tried to tell me to stay downstairs this was so off yea my friend was there previously but he left nd I even said sure he can get his things nd he made me feel unsafe before in the room so when he demanded Anorher key back in I was like no that's my room I'm not sure what the issue was nd why this font desk guy was acting this way but it was strange all this stemmed from me asking for a key that works his statement "ur here every other weekend" didn't sit well with me if he knew why he would feel bad cuz I have reasons for the stays which I shouldn't have to explain I've never been so offend Nd top this off gave me a room originally it smelt like urine they switched me but then to one either a toilet that won't stop running all night This man really rubbed me the wrong way how he handled this whole thing nd how he mocked the fact I have to check in a lot when he knows nothing about my living situation I believe I some kinda apology I always have had excellent experience always friendly have I issues extending my room if needed

Yelp
I spent 2 nights this summer (2023) at Best Western Mapple Ridge near BC, Canada. The hotel was ok, but they have not returned the deposit of a few hundred dollars to me, after 6 weeks now. There was no additional room charge, the hotel also acknowledged. I called them several times, and only got to the front desk, and always couldn't reach to the manager. I asked them to let the manager call back, but no responses. I also called the BW customer care twice. In the first call, I was told it should be resolved in a few days, and no need to call BW again. One week passed, I called the customer care again, and I was told to provide credit card information, which I provided alreaday at check-in. It is ridiculous for such a small issue BW can't resolve so far. Imagining this not only happening to me, BW needs a serious financial audit for its practice. Not recommended. Watch out!

Yelp
I'm on my 3rd day of a 15 day stay while I work in the area. So far 2 out of 3 morning an extremely loud dump truck empties 5 dumpsters right outside my room 2 out of 3 mornings. One comes at 4:50AM and another at 5:50AM. I've been at hotels that have a truck come once a week but a truck coming at 4:50am every other day is absolutely ridiculous. I'll change this review if the hotel does something about it before I leave.

Sandra V.

Yelp
Bad location. Not safe are for a woman traveling alone. Homeless wandering around. No elevator. No help with luggage. I felt very unsafe. The room was nice; very clean. But no. Don't stay there.

Kendall T.

Yelp
Do not buy the breakfast rate--you pay an extra $20 for them to give you a $10 voucher to the restaurant next-door. I was willing to pay the extra 20 dollars for the in-hotel breakfast no matter how shitty it was going to be. I just wanted to grab a banana on my way out for convenience on my way to an early morning work day. when I checked in they gave me a $10 voucher to the restaurant next door and did not explain that this was the breakfast that they cover, they were unwilling to give me a refund for something they did not clearly advertise on the website nor clearly explain during checkin. A very frustrating experience. False advertising and poor customer service.

Yelp
Everything was ok at first during my 2week stay but i noticed they dont always change the sheets and towels, as well as noticing a particular front desk employee during night shifts going into a young lady tenant's room more then once during his breaks!...and was disturbed by it! and the same employee started flirting with me , so at this point i decided to check out indefinitely! I felt really uncomfortable with that employee!... I definitely wont be checking in this hotel anymore!

Yelp
While most motels on El Camino are pulled back from the street, this small motel is right up against the sidewalk, squeezed into a narrow strip between El Camino and a residential neighborhood. So it might seem that this place would experience a lot of street noise, but it turns out only the lobby faces the street, and the rooms are tucked in the back, many facing a small courtyard with a pool. The atmosphere back here is surprisingly tranquil. And only a few steps away is Edgewood Road, offering access to pleasant walks on beautiful residential streets. After doing a little research, this was the motel I chose for my parents when they came for a visit. It probably wouldn't have been my first choice had the options in RWC been better. (It turns out there are *zero* decent hotels within a short walk of the downtown area.) But it was reasonably close to our house, the staff was very friendly, and the price was good for the area ($100 - $130). As for breakfast, the motel provides a complimentary one, but is also adjacent to Stacks restaurant, which offers a decent breakfast if you are willing to brave the lines and pay a little extra. Plus it is also easy walking distance to Starbucks and Donut House. My parents' room was clean, spacious and quiet, on the ground floor near the pool. They left satisfied and so I'll assign a decent rating. And uh...First!!

Yelp
Here's a Best Western to stay at. The rooms are large and spacious with comfortable beds. Nice decor and appointments too. I have this spot bookmarked for the next time I'm in this area. I'm quite impressed !

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE OUR LUGGAGE WAS STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM. Best western reviewed the cameras and you can clearly see somebody loitering sleeping bye the pool it shows the individual leave the pool after we leave for work and make his way up the stairs and jimmy our room open with a card and run off with our luggage staff said we left the door open.. LOL and it was our fault. Me and my Co worker attempted to open the door here with a key card with little to no effort in 2 seconds the room door opens wide STAY AWAY.. 50$ gift cards keep our mouth shut LOL THIS HOTEL IS A JOKE MOT TO MENTION A COMPLETE DUMP STAY AWAY

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights for a conference. Not impressed. Bathroom floor was dirty and then still not cleaned the next day. Hair Dryer did not work. Clock radio had an alien living in it and finally had to just unplug it. Pool area was padlocked. We did get into the pool area to sit by the pool with some snacks and a drink, but the pool was dirty. When we complained about these things there was no real apology. When we checked out, we brought these things up again and told the desk clerk that we felt we should receive a discount. She said she was not authorized. When we checked in we explained we wanted to split the bill, the clerk said to just do that at checkout. However, the last morning, the bill was automatically charged to one credit card. The clerk didn't know how to fix it and she would have to call someone. (Why didn't she call someone to get us a discount?) We finally just said forget it, and we would work it out ourselves. On the bright side, the beds were comfortable and it was nice to have breakfast.

Yelp
My son and I had a very pleasant stay April 28, 2019 through May 1, 2019. The front desk attendants were great and the maids were very helpful and friendly. Our room was super clean and the two queen beds were very cosy. I swam in the pool for 30 minutes and enjoyed myself. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a decently priced hotel with all the amenities.

Yelp
Front desk staff is super friendly . The area is quiet(ish). Rooms were decent and seemed pretty clean. We were much happier than the motel 6 that we left due to bed bugs. No bed bugs here . Down side drain didn't fully drain, AC dripped and left wet spot on the carpet . Beds were very, very comfortable !!! I would stay again . 3.5 stars would be my vote but seeing how the front desk was extra polite I'm upping it a little.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place! Starting with Diane who helped me making the reservation she gave me a great deal and was so friendly! When I got there Yadira helped me checking in she had the biggest smile ever, answered all of my questions and told me everything that was available when my reservation! Pool, free parking (for more than 1 car), wifi, and more..... This place is so easy to find and it's really close to different places to go eat. The rooms are extremely clean the bed was HUGE, and the room was super big. Flat screen tv's with cable. I'll be sure to come back, if I ever need a Hotel again!

Yelp
You know, it is not haunted. Redwoody City just gives me that feel that something would be haunted. I can say that this place did not feel haunted by any means. Their beds were comfortable and their showers were clean and a good temperature. I didn't see any ghosts, demons or Japanese-oni hiding in the depths of the closet or dresser. The check in lady was nice and the entrance was clean. Demons did not wake me in the middle of the night with teeth-gnashing curses of the damned. I was impressed with the location, close to downtown, about a .7 mile walk.

Maurice L.

Yelp
This place is insanely NOISY! Trains,, never heard so many trash trucks., back up warning bells on vehicles. I don't know where it all comes from. Whatever pluses I.e. location, nice people, clean room, whatever is far out weighed by the ridiculous noise level very early. Also second floor room no elevator and luggage cart had a flat tire should have given me my first clue.

Yelp
Love this place. Comfortable beds and the best shower around. I'll continue to sleep here after work. Thank You

Yelp
My family and I stayed at this Best Western Inn due to the 4 stars yelp reviewers gave it. Jean was extremely nice and the check-in was very easy. As my family and I were preparing to go to sleep, I lifted the bed sheets and adjusted the pillows, and noticed a black dot on the bed. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it was a live bed bug crawling and trying to seek shelter because I had moved the pillows and sheets around. I immediately contacted Jean at the front desk, and she came in the room to collect the bed bug. She relocated my family and I to another room that was located adjacent to the street. This room was not maintained, and it was extremely noisy. First of all, I could hear every car drive by and then I heard several trains go by! The Wi-Fi was not working, and the TV channels would automatically change on its own. I will NEVER stay in this place again NOR would I recommend it to others!

Yelp
There customer service was so horrible before I even booked my hotel/blocked rooms for a wedding that I decided not to use them. Very disappointed especially since yelp had some very good reviews. I left a message for the manager on a Thursday, no call back so I called on Monday. The manager picked up, said he had received my message, apologized for the delay and said he'd call back the next day "I promise" he said. HA! 3 days later (Thursday again) no call so I called him back and left another message. When I got no reply by Friday around noon I called, spoke with some front desk person and said I would NOT be using them for my wedding guests from out of town and that I would definitely write about it on yelp. 'OK thanks for calling Mam' is all I got. YUP Hotel Sofitel was a waaaaay better choice!

Jim K.

Yelp
Stayed here on a quick trip to the Bay Area. All of the hotels around Silicon Valley are very expensive, catering mostly to business travelers. We chose this one based on price (~$170) and the reviews. The property is really just OK. The room was OK. The breakfast was OK. The area seemed a little sketchy, but was OK. This property is in need of some renovations and upgrades, but it was a decent place for our one night stop. The free Wi-Fi worked well in our room. The rooms surround the courtyard pool. Although the hotel is right on a busy street, we had no noise in our room. I'm thinking the second floor rooms that face El Camino Real would have some noise though. There is a small parking lot as well as parking on the street.

Yelp
If more than HBO was offered I did not find those premium opt (s) , Comfortable and clean, very quite ; with exception of WC exhaust fans can Be heard from adjoining rooms. close Malibu Castle Grand Prix is great family fun. Take the kids out for a day of miniature golf, video games and car races... We will chk it out when we get Grandchildren ... So obviously we ll rtn if price is right or even much better . Pricey everywhere in this area but you ll feel safe .

Yelp
My husband and I needed a hotel near Stanford Hospital that was reasonably priced and found that the The Best Western Inn on Camino Real in Redwood City worked out really well. The location was perfect--only 6 miles to the hospital. The room was quiet, clean, and spacious. Both the manager and his staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. They clearly take great pride in their property. Breakfast is complimentary with a number of choices--you won't go hungry. We will be staying there again on a return visit to the hospital and would recommend the inn to other travelers.

Lisa M.

Yelp
They stole an additional 300$ dollars from us. Our hotel cost was 416 plus they took another 300$ making the total for 3 days, 2 nights over 700$. When I called & questioned them about the bill they said there was blood ALL over the bed & it went through!! WHAT??!! My 4yo son has red juice that washes out of sheets, I know, I wash them, but he only spilled a few drops. It was in a spill proof cup. Did a murder occur after we left??!! The guy I spoke to told me to call back when the manager was there, so I immediately called my bank & Expedia & both agreed this was excessive. When Expedia called them they told them a completely different story. They said it was now urine. Seriously??!!! FRAUD!! Booker beware!! We are in the process of a lawyer & working with our bank.

Yelp
If I could give this establishment 10 stars I would. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beds were super comfy. Inn room coffee and extra toiletries provided.Sequoia Hospital is literally around the corner and up the street. Starbucks and a few restaurants are within walking distance. There are other restaurants and shopping a very short drive away. I can go on about the rooms, but what put this establishment over the top for me was the staff. I cannot say enough about the hospitality and care they extended to my father and I. I had booked the room for a Thursday through Wednesday. I was bringing my father up for bypass surgery at Sequoia hospital. We arrived Thursday March 8th late in the afternoon after bouncing from doctors appointment to doctors appointment. We were greeted by 2 very friendly gentlemen. While one was checking us in, the other offered us 2 cold bottles of water and went over the hotels amenities and information on their free breakfast. On top of this, we needed help with some outside paperwork. They went above and beyond to help us. I really wish I had gotten every employees name that assisted us. Every time I came in and out, they genuinely asked how I was, if I needed anything, and offered me a cold bottle of water. It's little touches that go a long way. My dad was very concerned for my safety as I would be staying there by myself at night. I am 46 years old, but will always and forever be daddy's little girl. Upon check in my dad expressed his concern about my safety. They promised to take extra care of my safety and watch out for me coming and going. My father had surgery Friday March 9th. He passed away on Sunday. As per policy, the hotel could of held me to all 6 nights. I stayed Thursday and Friday night at the hotel. Saturday my father took a turn for the worse so I never left his side. All my belongings were still in the hotel room. When I went to check out, the gentleman on duty Sunday morning could have charged me for all or most of the nights. He only charged me for the 2 nights I physically stayed there. Sorry for the rambling and scattered post, but I cannot say enough good about this hotel.

Parry G.

Yelp
The hotel itself was decent. The service was the best I have ever received at a hotel. The folks working the front desk were very conscientious and genuine.

David S.

Yelp
I like this place. It's convenient, is run well, and importantly, the prices are very competitive. Plus it's very close to all the things I need to do and the people I want to visit when I come up to San Carlos.

Scott L.

Yelp
Nice place with considerate front desk staff that are willing to answer any questions and listen to me whine about a very recent bad experience at a different hotel. My room with King size bed was spacious and generally clean (except for a small oily smudge on the desk that was apparently missed by the cleaning staff). The room has a microwave, small coffee maker, mini fridge, lots of towels, and a wall mounted AC unit. I'm happy to see what appear to be pretty normal patrons staying here. Other more affordable Redwood City hotels have some odd characters hanging about.
