Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy

It is right off the highway. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable with a nice assortment of pillows. There is a Rutters with an Arby's across a street, a dollar store across the parking lot and a nest BBQ joint that had live music on an outside patio. Have stayed here twice.

We stayed here just passing through. It’s your typical cheap 2 star hotel, It did its job. The room was clean enough, the bathroom was honestly a mess, pipes leaking on the floor, mold everywhere and spiders. However the bed was spotless, clean and bug free which is all I care about. Breakfast was decent for the place too. So yes it’s run down and ugly but it’s clean where it matters

Hotel was infested with fleas. Within 30 seconds of checking in and walking into our room we were bit numeral times. Hotel used to be cleanly, but has really gone down hill the last couple years. What a shame.

Nice staff, stores for food, fuel & supplies within walking distance. Room appeared clean at first but was filthy with closer inspection. Holes in walls, stains on the bedding. Overpriced for what you get.

Disgusting place, dirty rooms, missing and unfriendly staff, they stole our valuables at the top of all troubles after our complaints. The worst hotel ever. Never again.

We were not at all satisfied with our stay. The hotel and room that we stayed in needed a lot of maintenance. Management does not seem to be working very hard to make this property up to standard. The state of this hotel was not what I expected for a franchise in United States. I am very disappointed in Best Western. Inside our room: • We requested a pet-free room due to my girlfriend being allergic to dogs and cats. She got an allergic reaction on her skin, so I think pets had previously stayed in this room. • The curved shower curtain rod was loose from the wall, so the curtains would not stay shut. They kept sliding down the curved bar and this ended up getting water on the floor of the bathroom. • The shower head was broken and had very little flow, we needed to stand under it so that it dripped on top of us. • The towel rack was bent down, so the towels would barely stay on the rack Outside our room: • Two employees were smoking just outside the main entrance, we needed to walk through a smoke filled entryway • The waffle maker was out of order • The vending machine was mostly empty • There were 2 employees’ cars in the handicapped spots (neither had placards or handicapped plates) • The outdoor pool was very disgusting with a thick layer of dirt and leaves at the bottom • The concrete lid to a storm drain in the parking lot was slid to the side and the manhole was accessible. Kids could have fallen or climbed down.

The facility was very clean with an excellent breakfast and courteous staff. The reason for my low rating is threefold: the bed was very hard with the thinnest cotton blanket. Even with heat on we were cold all night. The person above us stomped around for hours and kept us awake. Obviously there is little to no sound barrier between floors. In the morning we went to breakfast and could not get back into our room. The front desk tried numerous measures but the door would not open. Management finally provided a Master Key Card to get the door open. Would not stay again.

We stayed here when we couldn't get a reasonably priced room in State College after a sports tournament. It was an easy 25-minute drive, right off of a major highway. The room was quiet, clean, and well within our family budget. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly...even when we got there at midnight.

Indifferent staff. Slightly trashy room, i.e., broken toilet base, sink clogged instantly (I pointed this out to the clerk and she gave me an indifferent look as if to say "What's the problem?), towel rack hanging off wall, paint pealing at top of shower. Worst of all: On check in I asked for amount I owed for room so I could pay cash. She quoted $160. When I got the receipt the actual amount was $159.13. She upcharged, and acted indignant when I asked for change for my payment. I added 15 cents and asked for a dollar in return. She went to the back room and returned with 4 quarters and 2 cents and dropped them into my hand-with attitude. Couldn't get TV to work and called for help. She couldn't do it either, changed batteries and fumbled around finally getting the TV to turn on, but failed to explain to me what she did. Just was not a good visit, and I won't return. I'd have complained to the manager/owner but the owner is her uncle.

My stay experience was nice. The room was very clean and up to date. Ac worked nicely, shower had great pressure (shower heads could use some updating) and the beds were comfy imo. The staff was very friendly as well. There is a dollar store, subway, Dairy Queen, Rutters and an Arbys right next to the hotel. The only thing I wish there was more of would be places that deliver. The only delivery option was a Dominos and Pizza Hut unless you use Door Dash. All in all you can't beat it for $100/night.

Owner does not care about their loyal customers and is rude. I had a confirmed reservation for weeks, and then received a call from the owner who cancelled my reservation so they can charge other customers over 5 times my confirmed rate. This is a very poor business practice and no way to treat loyal Best Western customers. Honor your commitments and treat people with respect. Travelers beware, especially Penn State alums and fans. This hotel may cancel your room out from under you, even if you have a confirmed reservation. Not fun if you think you have your travel itinerary all set, only to have your hotel room taken away from you so the hotel owner can make more money and gouge those traveling to Penn State. I would avoid this hotel, if possible, as there are many much better options in the area. Stay somewhere that cares about their customers and does not operate using unscrupulous business practices. Also, take note of the other reviews discussing dirty rooms, the filthy pool, and the rudeness of the managers/owners. The owner is either just greedy or unpatriotic. Hotel chains have long offered a discounted rate to the Military and Government Service employees on both business and leisure travel in honor of their service to our country. I have worked for the U.S. Navy for over 25 years and I'm very appreciative of the honor and recognition bestowed by businesses who recognize the contributions of Military members and Government civil service employees. I've stayed in many hotels (including Best Westerns) where the Military/Government rate has been extended to me whether on Business or Leisure travel, including weekends. The facts here are, I properly booked a rate that was offered on the Best Western website which is meant to recognize our Military and Government members/employees and is available to use at all times. If the business does not want to offer such a rate to our country's Military and Government members, then don't offer it on the official Best Western website. The actions of owner of the Best Western, Milroy, PA are either a greedy money grab, unpatriotic, or perhaps both. In either case they should be ashamed of themselves, and I don't believe this business should be supported by customers who have many choices on where to stay. And, trust me, there is nothing special about this motel. Why patronize an establishment where the owners are rude, have little regard for their customers, operate with unscrupulous business practices, and don't honor service to our country.

Quality service, and eager to ensure your stay is spectacular. For a convenient stay close to State College, BW Milroy cannot be beat. A special thank you Kelly for your hospitality!

This hotel is conveniently located right off of the 322 about 20 minutes south of state college! At first I was hesitant to stay here because we usually stay in town but it wasn't a bad commute at all and we definitely saved $$ as the hotels in state college were quite pricey! There is a subway and sports bar right next store as well as a gas station. The hotel offers free continental breakfast in the mornings and the rooms are not far at all from where you walk in. The walls are thin so if you have loud neighbors you can hear everything. Also the bathroom sink drain was slow to drain. The housekeepers (3 of them) came in to service our room in the morning before 10am and when we asked them to come back later the one girl was extremely rude and said she wouldn't be coming back later but the other one said they would. I work in a large resort on the strip in Las Vegas and this service would not suffice where I work. Those are the only negatives. I would stay here again to save money and beat the traffic again on a busy football weekend!

Came here for my brothers wedding on 9/13/14....staff was very sweet, Travis who worked the customer service desk was very accommodating. Any time we needed directions printed out or if we needed a recommendation to eat somewhere, he pointed us in the right direction and gave great advice for where to go . This hotel is very clean and they seem to take pride in their guests. The beds were comfortable as can be expected for a hotel....I mean don't expect to get temper pedic mattresses but they are comfortable. Bathrooms are a good size and if you do need handi cap access able they do have those rooms available too. The only reason I am giving a 4 star is because if the breakfast....yes they do have continental breakfast but it is not the greatest....otherwise would I stay here again....yes......oh and they are a smoke free hotel.

Please do not stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, I have had a horrible experience with this hotel and corporation. The manager fraudulent billed my credit card on my wedding day thousands of dollars when none my family or friends stayed at his hotel. He was never given verbal or written consent to book rooms or charge my card. I followed up with Best Western Cooperation and they did nothing. This manager is horrible, rude and disrespectful. Please save yourself money, potential fraud, and avoid this hotel at all costs. If I could I would give it zero stars.
