Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn

This hotel was excellent. Daily breakfast was fabulous and each day we stayed offered new options. Pool is large and well maintained. But the staff make this visit an amazing experience...helpful, friendly and just genuinely nice people. Highly recommend staying here. It was a great home base as we were island tourists going as far north as Coombs and south to Victoria. Easy day driving and returning to a peaceful and enjoyable evening which included a lovely swim.

Large, beautiful room. Very well equipped dish-wise with dishwasher, stove, microwave & coffee maker. No condiments, spices, etc. Excellent breakfast, but the dining room is way too small for all the people. Reasonably nice neighborhood within walking distance of charming downtown Chemainus. Small deck. Main negative was the view from the back of the hotel: lower half of view: logging operation transfer station with trucks going in & out all the time; upper half of view: the ocean. I would rate it a 4.8/5 (3=average; 4=good/above average; 5=superior/excellent).

I would highly recommend this hotel for numerous reasons. The rooms were beautiful, large, spacious, well maintained and clean. The price for the rooms was very reasonable. Also, it is well located for access to the downtown area within walking distance. The majority of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and generous.| The only 2 negatives were that the breakfast room was really too small & although generally in a nice neighborhood, the view out of the back of the hotel was over a log truck loading and unloading station, which really wasn't very beautiful ( although you could see the mountains and the harbor out beyond it.)

Nice welcome at the front desk with a good description of the layout. The room was clean and spacious, the water pressure in the shower was super low. Luckily I have short hair so I managed, but I can see someone with long, thick hair having issues washing it in the trickle. The included breakfast was great, no bacon...sad face. We didn't use the pool, while not super big, it looks like a good time. Put off by hotel staff smoking on the walkway out front on the way out, but otherwise an enjoyable stay.

An easy 15 minute walk from the Chemainus Theatre, we purchase the Package deal (through the Theatre only) and get a roomy, clean room for at least $40 less than if booked directly with the Hotel. It's clean, with excellent amenities like free wifi, pool, exercise room, complimentary breakfast, free parking, and friendly staff. Golf course nearby. It's a great place to wind down after a fabulous show at the Theatre. The only downside I've experienced is that the bedroom itself does not have air con but the suite does so depending on the design of the booked room, you may find it stuffy at night for sleep. Just a personal preference but the windows do open. The complimentary breakfast is good quality and well-run by one staff member. Get there early if you want a table during high season. Recommend!

We had a great stay, it started from receiving the text message in the morning for me to do an online check in. We were greeted very well at our arrival and got the keys in a timely manner. The room was spacious, clean and bathroom was in great shape.

Suite was very clean and well maintained. Bed very comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location was great very central to both Victoria and Nanaimo, 35 minutes and 25 minutes respectively. Have stayed here before and is still great. Breakfast was included and was very good to start the day.

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The staff were great. We were surprised that our beds weren't made the first morning of our two day visit. It is in an area with lots to see, especially around Duncan and Chemainus. We shipped salmon to a family member, and brought fresh oysters home.

My girlfriend is in this little town for a job so I decided to tag along. The hotel is at the end of a round about and is easily seen. It is not right off the main road but close to it. The check in process was quick and easily and the lady was super nice. They had a little desk with a sign that welcomed pets which I thought was super cute. It had a bowl of treats, towels, and poop bags. I love pet friendly hotels. Parking is super easy they have a lot right in front of the hotel. The hotel offers a pretty nice gym and an inside pool with a jacuzzi, I wish I brought my bathing suit. They also offer free hot breakfast in the dining area which was pretty amazing. I've been to several hotels that serve breakfast and it's crap. I uploaded some pictures of the breakfast. The room is super nice and cute. The only thing I can say bad is that my free lotion was previously used and never replaced. I'm vegan and I don't use fragrance or amainar products at all and I was so happy to see that they use vegetable based soap! Well back to the hotel room lol, the bedroom was in a little room that you had the ability to slide a door and close it. We have a little dining area a couch and a nice size kitchen. Since town closes pretty early around here I recommend you buy some groceries and make food. I would recommend that you stay here

In July 2016, the boys and I discovered this excellent hotel located by a traffic circle south of downtown Chemainus. There is plenty of parking available and there is a pub and little grocery store(ice cream and slushies) across the street. The staff are cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, and available 24/7--they will even phone your room 20 minutes after you've checked in to ask if you need anything. Our room exceeded expectations as it was spacious, had two suitcase racks(instead of just one), a study desk with chair, extra outlets on the base of the lamp fixture between the beds, and a modern bathroom. A quiet curfew is enforced from 10pm to 6am. The hot or cold breakfast included is wonderful. There's enough to choose from even for picky eaters: waffles (waffle iron makes four mini-waffles at a time), great coffee, high quality teas(Mighty Leaf), juices, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals, pastries, bagels, bread, and yogurt. The microwave oven, toaster, and hot water dispenser are available for use at all times; it's so convenient to reheat leftovers/goodies from the neighbouring farmers' markets!

We were pleasantly surprised to discover that staying at this hotel for 5 nights was a better experience than most hotel stays we've had. Why? Because while we have dealt with competent, friendly hotel staff before, the people who look after guests here, from the front desk to housekeeping to breakfast room servers, seem genuinely happy and proud to work here, and it came through in spades whenever they interacted with us. Many award plaques dot the wall: now I know why.

This hotel is nine years old but still looks and feels brand new. It is extremely clean and most rooms have kitchenettes so ideal for longer term stay or family cost cutting. The full breakfast that's included with any room deal offers an amazing selection. Highly recommend this Duncan to Nanaimo area hotel!!!

Great hotel! Super nice rooms, very clean and all the amenities. The salt water pool is also nice - the kids love it. We absolutely loved Chemainus and staying here was perfect! We are definitely coming back. The hotel is close to everything and the staff is super nice.

Best New Years choice we ever made. Helped us with finding a local business. Very friendly staff. Great parking in general, but also good handicap parking too. The bathroom was wheelchair accessible, even for a larger sized chair. Overall the decor was lovely and the room was not overpriced. Location is great if you are going to see a show at the Chemainus festival.

I was very impressed with the Best Western here. There is a wonderful salt water pool, a hot tub, decent fitness room (2 treadmills, 3 stationary bikes, free weights, rowing machine, balance ball, and a multi-purpose weight station), free buffet breakfast (bread, muffins, fruit, yogurt, waffle machines, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bacon sometimes, cereal, oatmeal), and free wi-fi. The very best part though were the beds. They are incredibly comfortable, and the pillows are probably the best I've ever slept on. I wanted to take them home!

Excellent accommodations and breakfast - exceed expectations for small community on Vancouver island if traveling this way.

We stayed here as a package deal with the Chemanus Theatre. The theatre is a short walk from the hotel. We had the larger suite at the hotel. It had all the amenities including 2 complimentary bottles of water and 4 coffees (Keurig). The room included breakfast which was to say the least filling and very good for a buffet. The staff was pleasant. Overall highly recommend this place if your stopping for an out of the way quite stay off the busy inland highway!

Very nice hotel. Close to ocean. Rooms are clean. Suite is a nice room. Lots of parking. Pub across the street.
