H and I have stayed here a few times on our trips back and forth from OH/New England. It's conveniently located off I-80 and actually down the hill from a Super Walmart (which I found to be wicked convenient), Mickey Ds and a number of local establishments.
There's a decent amount of parking. We've been on here on a weekday and on a weekend and have never been hard pressed for parking. Actually on the contrary, each time we've come, we park as close as we can to the entrance.
The ladies at the front desk are exceptionally kind and accommodating. I especially like the brunette with the pixie-cut. She remembered my H and I and our "situation" with an external third party site.
During each stay, I booked a king room with a kitchenette. Having had a room on the first and third floors, I can say that I prefer the first floor rooms. The ceilings are higher and therefore just feel bigger and much more open. Nothing wrong with the other rooms, I just like the grandiose feeling of the initial room we had #109. BUT the kitchenette is small. Seriously. It's worth mentioning that the kitchenette's sink is smaller than the bathroom sink? I digress. On floor 3, we had room #313 and was horrified by a musty smell. My H swore it was probably because the room had been unoccupied for some time and that the AC probably had not been used. Well... we found some water damage that might have contributed to some of that smell. Alas, we could've switched rooms, but we were tired after driving 10+ hours with a six month old.
Breakfast was subpar. It's certainly continental. There's a variety of cereals, coffee, dairy products, typical fruit, baked goods, pre-made omelettes/sausage gravy, sausages and a pancake machine and orange juice machine. I could have cared less for the omelette, sausage gravy and sausage... but the worst was the pancake machine. The product was so rubbery, I couldn't believe people were lining up to use the machine! I'll pass, thanks. I like cereal... and the fruit choices (red delicious, banana and orange) were just ok. They were probably bought at the Walmart up the hill. Haha.
We haven't used the fitness or pool room, but it looks as if it would suffice for those staying overnight on a whim. If I had not been drained by my infant, I could have used a few miles run on a machine. Maybe next time? Also, there's a small pool and jacuzzi offered to guests. There's no lifeguard, so be warned! It was nice enough.
I also really like that this is a pet-friendly hotel. The next time we come, we'll be sure to bring our pup. He'd be $20/night.
