We stay at the best western every year. The area is safe and the parking is enclosed with a gate which adds a bit of peace of mind. The only thing that was a little disheveled was the pool area. I just wasn’t as clean and orderly as we are used to. The rooms have been updated and were very clean. Finally the complementary breakfast was just ok. It really depends on the staff they have as to how good the breakfast is. Some years the bacon is the higher quality, some years not, but you still get your bacon and eggs, and cereal, if that’s your thing. Overall, it’s a good stay if you are looking for an overnight stay.

Questionable Area….reception very nice & helpful. Room was large & spacious. Rug area goi g through hallway very dirty appearance. Bedroom area much the same. Needs renovating, air conditioning took hours to get cool. Bathroom nice, lighting good and the magnifying mirror was great! Bed needed replaced, worn - meaning pockets where butts rested many many times. Quiet night. Lady serving in the breakfast area was very personable. We did not eat there. Only had orange juice which was mainly water down. Not her fault just the way hotel had machine work. |Will not stop here again, in our travels to see family. Sorry.

Honestly a bad experience, the employees don't look like they want to do their job they roll their eyes at simple tasks. My parent's room they received had a bugger on the wall and nightstand as well was hair pub hair/or thick short hair. My room had smelt like mildew and their room had a stinky sock oder that we could not get rid of all night, it could've been an AC issue. We really wanted to book a different hotel but it was later at night and we were tired from the drive. But hey at least the BED was made 😔. under bare minimum hotel.

Overall, probably not the best BW. The location is a bit sketchy, and the hotel is in need of updating. When I checked in there was a pile of trash in front of the ice machine, and it was still there when I checked out. The room was relatively clean, but the AC was noisy and not very cold. At least the hotel was quiet, and it could have been worse.

My room was large and comfortable and I slept great. The WiFi worked well too. I did not get to try the breakfast because I overslept my first morning (breakfast ends at 8 a.m. on Friday) and I was up early for an event on Saturday. The front desk clerk was very welcoming. Parking in the fenced area felt secure. There is a Waffle House and a Whataburger literally across the street too.

I love Best Western hotels. The desk agents are always nice and make sure I'm taken care of. The other reason is the fantastic breakfast they have.

Google
I recently booked at BWPJDS and had a TERRIBLE experience. The staff was disrespectful and not helpful. -0/10. The hotel's location was distasteful and the gate wasn’t working! The young lady with braids on 05/02/25 was absolutely RUDE and honestly not helpful at all! No manager on duty, gave out false information! Cancelled my room because of last minute policies. I WOULDN’T recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay AT ALL!

Room was clean and comfortable as well as quiet. Breakfast was lacking and the pool was closed. The parking is gated so that was a plus. Lot's of restaurant options near by.

Yelp
Located a few miles from the Mississippi state capitol building, this little Best Western looks like it has seen better days. While clean and comfortable for my one night stay, the establishment could use some TLC. In my room for instance, wall paper in the bathroom was ripped and noticeably missing near the floorboard. My toilet seat was loose, and I nearly flew off each time I sat down. My tub filled with water and stayed well above my ankles throughout my entire shower. Eew! These are easy fixes for the hotel, and would make a big difference in a customer's satisfaction with their stay. The representative who checked me in was nice, but she could have made a positive difference in my experience with the following things. First, she checked me into room 213. Guess what? After dragging my luggage upstairs, I learned the hard way while wandering the entire hallway that the room doesn't exist! Probably a management decision to exclude that unlucky 13, which was indeed unlucky for me. She made the key change fast enough, but during the initial check-in she failed to tell me about how the grab-n-go breakfast worked, so I missed it completely in the morning. Also, I had to call down to learn about the WiFi. Thankfully the king sized bed was clean and comfortable and I was able to relax. The neighbor watched TV until about 2:00 AM. I could hear it through the wall. It was annoying on two accounts. One, with COVID, I thought guests would be spaced out with empty rooms in between, but that didn't appear to be the case. Two, why have hotels not done a better job of soundproofing rooms so guests can get a good night's sleep? I had left some luggage in the car because I felt it was safe in their gated parking lot. Only residents with key access could open the gate. The area seemed safe enough to walk to the capitol building during the day, but I drove the mile and a half up the road to get there quickly. Next door to the hotel is a Whataburger. The drive thru line wrapped around the building both day and night. A gas station is on the corner and of course the convenience store makes it easy to pick up anything you forgot for your stay. Next time I would probably book the newer BW up the hill in a nicer area of town.

Yelp
Coffee/cappuccino maker did not work at the breakfast station, Seriously. Only 1 waffle maker for the entire hotel guest list with no toppings. Oj and apple juices were the only choice from the machine that was not labeled. Scrambled "wtf" OVER cooked eggs.

Yelp
Positives: -comfortable bed -good water pressure -friendly staff -gated parking Negatives -dangerous area, armed security at chain restaurants (not hotels fault) -big red stain on the floor, white stains on black ottoman (why black in a hotel?), stains on couch -loud outside all night long Will not stay here again.

Yelp
Stay was October 2015. Staff is friendly but not willing to fix anything. We arrived to find a dirty towel on the doorknob of our bathroom. Cleaning staff only said, "It wasn't me, it's my first day!" Then she did not clean the shower/tub, clean the whirlpool, fix the broken lotion dispenser we mentioned, or replace toiletries. She also left the mirror filthy from her dirty rag. We also saw one of them watching porn LOUDLY while cleaning another room. The front desk staff told us nothing upon arrival (about breakfast, in-room food options, fitness center and pool, check out, etc.) except how to get into the SECURITY GATE that surrounds the property. We saw a used needle on the sidewalk outside and they were neither surprised nor apologetic. They also did not do anything about it. Lots of seedy people around, including loitering around guest entrances INSIDE the secure parking lot. Maybe not so secure since 3 times we saw the gate let in at least 3 cars with one keycard swipe and still not close. Locals say not to walk around outside after dark and there are police EVERYWHERE with lights on. Whataburger next door is PACKED ALL NIGHT (2AM)! My traveling companion was locked out of the room and they let him in without any ID and his name was not even on the registration!! WOW, no security here at all. Stay somewhere else, the worst BW I've ever stayed in.

Yelp
So sad to say that our family had a horrible experience at the Best Western in Jackson, Mississippi. We canceled our stay there at 1:15 p.m., was told by the receptionist that she would take care of it, and rebooked a room at a Best Western 30 min down the road. Their website says the cancel has to be done by 6 p.m. (Which we clearly did) The hotel still charged us $250! We contacted corporate only to be told, "they are unable to offer any assistance". I am shocked that they would do this when we clearly canceled, and when we booked with the same company. This is not how customers should be treated. I am so disappointed in Best Western. For quality assurance, our phone calls were recorded... surely they could have made this right. Edited to add: Best Western (the main page!) deleted mine and many others bad reviews and blocked me from posting anything on their fb page! What kind of company does that! Not only are they stealing money, but they are hiding the truth!

Yelp
Excellent stay! Don't be thrown off by the location or the gated entryway... The hotel itself is as clean and cozy as they come. It seems recently updated, with a contemporary black, burgundy, and silver color scheme. Our room was clean and spacious, the bed was incredibly plush and comfortable, and the hot shower water was soothing for the traveling soul. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the area. Arnisha was in charge of breakfast and graciously held it open for us for a few extra minutes when we accidentally overslept and almost missed it. There was a great spread of hot breakfast: Eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and a sausage/potato/vegetable breakfast casserole; alongside a wide assortment of pastries, cold cereals, and blueberry waffles. The morning concierge, Cammy, was also gracious in offering us a late checkout when we goofed up and thought we had until noon. Everyone we met seemed genuinely friendly, helpful, and there for whatever the guests needed. The only drawback is that it's not in the best part of town, but with the security measures they've taken (gated, extremely well-lit lot with cameras facing in many directions), there's no need to be alarmed if you're simply in it for a cozy place to lay your head for the night. The food around it is mostly fast food (Whataburger, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Arby's), but there is a Waffle House directly across from it and pizza delivery and the Waitr app are also both good options. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay, and with how cost effective it was for the quality we received. We will be back! Thanks!

Yelp
We only stayed here a night on our way to Memphis, Tennessee. The lobby was pretty and the room and was mostly clean. The shower was awesome The breakfast was good, but limited, and the pool was okay. Our biggest complaint is that that that the hotel was in a very bad area of town, and we didn't know since we don't live in Jackson. Going outside at night didn't feel safe and we couldn't go to any restaurants nearby. Not a great environment to bring the family. The hotel itself was nice but the area it was in was a little scary. We wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
The worst BW we have ever stayed in. Starting with the security gate and locked entrance. Couch and chair in room needed repair. Mold around bathtub. Shower piping not secured in wall. The tile floor at front desk and breakfast area was so sticky I almost walked out my shoes. Breakfast was a joke and area was messy and dirty.

Yelp
Would NEVER EVER stay here again. They are working on renovations to the public area but everything needs refurbishing. The rooms were clean and the linens fine but, those were the only positive. They cleared breakfast before 9am and my husband had to chase down the syrup and silverware for his waffle. No southern hospitality in evidence from the breakfast crew! We were approached by a pan handler as we loaded our car at the front door.

Yelp
The hotel is probably one of the better in the area, but still leaves a lot to be desired. The grounds and room were clean, yet clearly dated and it smelled quite strange. There were also random room items like couches and beds stored in a the stairwell. The executive room which we stayed in had a king-sized bed and a sleeper sofa in a second room. The room itself was huge, but there was a lot of empty space because it was so huge, so it felt more like an office than a hotel room... but for $99 on hotels.com I can't complain too much. It has gated access which adds a bit of security and is one reason it gets a 3rd star here. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was more than enough with pastries, bagels, eggs, sausage, coffee, juices, fresh waffles, cereals, etc. It is close to the airport, downtown and the nearby Belhaven University. If I have to visit the area again I'd probably stay here again for lack of a better option.

Yelp
Walking into this hotel to check in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a clean atmosphere. The breakfast area was large and inviting. The lady checking us into our room was extremely friendly and helpful. I was extremely impressed with our room when we arrived. It was so spacious, with a king size bed and couch/sitting area. Everything was clean and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again next time we are visiting the Jackson area.

Yelp
Nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms with small business center and work out facility. Parking is gated and free. The rooms have refrigerator and small microwave oven. A couple of restaurants like Domino's and Steakout will deliver to your room. They have a free breakfast buffet too. Great location too. Close to 55 and restaurants as well as the hospital.

Kristie M.

Yelp
The staff was friendly--true southern hospitality, but the hotel was lacking in a number of areas. Having to park behind a security gate made me think the area was a little sketchy. The room was clean, but the carpet was stained and the furniture scratched. I saw a cockroach in the room. One of my biggest complaints was the exercise room, which was really two bikes and a treadmill that were barely holding on. I had grits and orange juice from the continental breakfast. After adding the "hot water" and taking one bite, I had to trash the food--the water was cold and the grits inedible. Not the best night's stay.

Yelp
Decided to give this hotel a try based on Tripadvisor reviews and hotel did not disappoint. Rooms were very large with microwave and refrigerators in the rooms. The TV was very large and bathroom was super clean. Hotel is in a safe location and I'd come back and visit next time I'm in Jackson.

Mississippi W.

Yelp
I give this dump a one star rating only because they have a refrigerator & microwave in the room. First of all, the room has a foul odor (as if the carpet had gotten wet)... Secondly, housekeeping is TERRIBLE! They only pick up/replace dirty towels & make the bed w/o putting on fresh linen! The trash wasn't taken out, some of the towels & bed linen were stained! But to top that off, I came back to my room around 1:30pm & my room still hadn't been cleaned!!! So I asked housekeeping when was my room gonna be cleaned. He goes & grab some sheets & dumps them on the bed & tells me to do it myself because he wasn't gonna do it! So I told him NO it's his job to clean the rooms, so he tells me to go & tell the front desk clerk. I reported him to the clerk, & needless to say he still didn't clean my room! So about 30 minutes later the front desk clerk & another housekeeper ended up cleaning my room!... This Best Western Executive Inn will NEVER get my business again! Oh I forgot to mention the roach I killed in my room!

Yelp
We were kind of skeptical when we drove up but this hotel is very nice in the inside. It has been completely renovated. Rooms are nice, lobby is nice. Free wifi, free breakfast. And it was very reasonably priced. Would stay here again
