Best Western Plus Parkhotel Maximilian Ottobeuren

We spent five nights here and the hotel as well as the location was lovely. The staff were friendly and we were happy with our room. The spa was also very nice. The reason for four stars and not five is because of the cleaning. The housekeeping did not clean the room well and we also had some issues with bugs in the room, for example silverfish in the bathroom. The pool was also very cold so I was not able to use it.

Very nice Best Western Plus Hotel perfect to relax. The rooms are comfy and big. View from the balcony is nice with the Mountains at the Horizon. Area and Hotel is quiet, breakfast very good and rich with Bavarian specialties. Recommended without any restrictions.

Breakfast till 12, went down at 10 and everything was nearly finished and not replaced.|Room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, nor during our stay. Sent a request for it to be cleaned everyday (as hotel policy is that it is cleaned every two days if not requested daily) which was approved. Still arrived back to the hotel with the room not cleaned. We at least needed fresh towels and the bins emptied from dirty nappies (was travelling with a baby and toddler). Called reception to ask for this and he said this cannot be done. After asking him multiple times for this, he said he can send someone. We only got two fresh towels (we were a family of four), bins emptied. No vacuuming of the room or beds made. Called reception for another two towels, no one showed up with them waited for an hour. Went myself to reception to pick them up after calling them and they do not pick up, and the lady was very rude telling me that I should have waited a couple of minutes. Spent two days without body wash, calling reception and no one picks up. Room full of dust. For extremely dirty. Bed sheets stained. Used two glasses on the first day and they were neither washed nor replaced for the four days we were there for.|Had to use phone torch to go to the bathroom when kids were sleeping, as the bathroom had a useless small window into the room which would light the room up if using bathroom lights.|Wifi not accessible from all areas of hotel.|Staff was extremely rude, especially reception staff, particularly one lady with shoulder length blonde hair. When checked in she didn't even give us any hotel info. Asked for the pool, was extremely rude with her tone of voice. Would surely not be using this hotel again.

The BW Plus hotel is a good option for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel has two buildings, the Old and New wings. The Old wing offers a cozy atmosphere, but the New wing, while modern, has some cleanliness issues. Several guests have reported flies in their rooms in the new building, which suggests that the maintenance standards may not be as high as in the older section. The cleanliness of the service areas, such as the tables near the stairs, could also be improved. Despite these issues, the hotel has some standout features. Guests can enjoy a lovely outdoor hot water swimming pool and a sauna with three different temperature showers. The pool and sauna area are well-designed with appealing lighting and sound, making for a very relaxing experience. The on-site restaurant serves good, tasty food and provides excellent service. A unique feature is the use of a robot to deliver food to tables, which adds a modern and memorable touch to the dining experience. Overall, while the cleanliness in the newer building and some service areas needs attention, the BW Plus offers great amenities like the outdoor pool and sauna, along with a good dining experience.

It was a great stay with very delicious food in the hotel restaurant and super friendly staff everywhere. The Sauna area is amazing and the pool is completely enough for a short stay. Overall very satisfied with the stay.

Great stay. Rooms were clean and cozy. Hotel staff was always helpful. One note to be mindful of is there is a new and old side. I stayed in the old side, but it didn't feel outdated. Just no central air or fan. I will stay again in the future. Also, the spa area is beautiful and relaxing. I especially enjoyed being able to swim in the heated outdoor pool.

the ladies in the front desk have to learn how to receive the customeers, they were rude & did give information about the hotel like: opening hours of the restaurant & the spa. we complained that the water in the shower don't run out. 3 days they did not fixe it. they do cleaning once in 2 days' the room was not clean - we put the sign of clening, they did not clean. one of soap bootle was empty- they did not replace a new one.......

The Park Hotel Maximiliana as the hotel was once called has all the elements of grandeur and elegance. But in the years since the management has changed, the hotel continues to lose its high standards in every part of the hotel from hygiene, to maintenance, from front office to food and beverage. If not for the location in Ottobeuron and our memories of the good times at this hotel, we probably wouldn't return.||The most discerning part of the change is that Housekeeping is outsourced. That alone may be alright, but it is outsourced with no supervision by the Hotel. This means that the outsourced company, which clearly has once again changed as the faces are all new, means that there is a freewheeling approach to hygiene. We witnessed it ourselves during our recent visit. Rushed cleaning, corners avoided, used towels used to wipe the sink and glasses, used towels used to wipe the bathroom just spreading more germs, superficial touches, and the room is ready for the next guest. We walked into a room which was supposed to be ready but was not, which means communication with front office has also lapsed. Cleaning and maintenance in the corridor as our photos show, also non existent.||The front office staff have all changed too. No continuity. Morning shift was polite, afternoon shift less so. Some staff even just temporary or casual with little training or experience. Dare not ask anything out of the usual basic questions. No, that extra level of service doesn't exist here.||Restaurant Breakfast is alright. But the hotel no longer has an atmosphere for dining in the evening. The new approach is bright lights and a limited menu, and one really doesn't feel any heart or passion any more. But the grandeur of the dining space remains as if a beautiful room is left without any soul.||Sometimes I wonder if the Park Hotel had been managed by a luxury hotel management company, the heights that this hotel could have reached. After all, Ottobeuron is a charming town, located between Memmingen and Kempten, and with well maintained facilities and wellness offerings, this could easily have been the destination hotel in this region. But no. I suppose with all the Multivac corporate customers there for business, a generally clean room and breakfast may all that is essential at this once-upon-a-time Grand Hotel.

If you are in the area for business or pleasure I would recommend Parkhotel Maximilian. Located in a great setting, with both trails, a park, and walkable to town. The hotel itself was good, though the rooms are a bit dated (circa early 1990s). However, looking past that, the staff was great and the food also outstanding. The patio area was also nice. If you have a reason to be in Ottobeuren, this is a great option for lodging and/or dinning.
