I flew into Newark Airport and was happy to find out that the Best Western Premier Empire State Hotel was only about a 10-minute walk from Penn Station. This is convenient if you are coming in and out of the city. The hotel itself is impeccably clean, modern, and has great staff! The agent who checked me in was courteous and helped me get to my room fast since it was late in the evening. The rooms are larger for NYC. They are spotless! I really appreciated how quiet the hotel was, even though it’s in the heart of Manhattan. I liked that the TV has lots of stations for me to relax and watch. The location also makes it easy to grab a quick bite or drink nearby. I was only here for one night and really liked everything about the hotel, so I will stay here again.

Comfortable hotel and excellent location at good price (for NY). Khaoula at the front desk was especially amazing - helpful, knowledgeable and so pleasant. She went above and beyond at every turn. The beds were very comfortable and the room spacious by NY standards. Clean and spacious bathroom with plenty of amenities. Plenty of space to hang clothes and stash luggage. Plenty of outlets near the bed to charge devices. The elevators were fast. The iced water always available just outside the ground floor elevators was a nice touch. Ten or so minute walk to Penn Station and 15-20 to theatres around Times Square. Recommend and would stay here again. ||My only suggestion for improvement would be for them to go back to having the large refillable containers of soap, shampoo and lotion in the bathrooms rather than the small individual bottles (the stand for the large refillable containers was still attached to the wall in the shower, but it was empty and instead the small amenity bottles were lined up on the ledge above the sink). Such a waste from a climate / unnecessary plastic use perspective.

Great hotel!! Very clean! ( considering high traffic in Manhatten), organized and run by a friendly helpful staff. Rashid and others were awesome! We stayed on the 7th floor and never experienced long lines for the elevator. Also wonderful location! The hotel in literally in the middle of Manhattan, so easy walking distance to many main attractions, but in the same time it always seemed quiet when we were in the room at night. The building is tucked in and away from crazy busy streets of midtown. Our room was a very decent size for NY with good shower and good water pressure ( bathroom was on a smaller size).|We stayed there for 10 nights.|I highly recommend this lovely hotel!

This was our first trip as a family of 4 to New York city and this hotel was such a breath of fresh air. The employees were always extremely helpful and courteous and they truly went above and beyond to help navigate the use of the subway. Our bed was always made and a stack of fresh towels were always available. I think the only thing I would say that they could work on is vacuuming the room after a couple of days. We stayed for 5 days so it would have been nice if it was vacuumed more often. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this place. Price is reasonable and the hotels is in great shape as it's fairly new.

We stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Empire State Building and close to everything, yet surprisingly quiet at night, which made for restful sleep. Our room had a great view, and everything was clean, modern, and well-equipped. The bed was big and very comfortable, and the TV was large too—perfect for relaxing after a long day. We really appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including the microwave and ice dispenser conveniently located in the basement. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Google
they put me on the top floor. mine was the only room on that floor. you're thinking it was a penthouse suite, right? Wrong! it was a small, single room with a big, comfy bed and cute, kinda minimal decor. the bathroom was the show stopper. it was so big, the bed could have gone in there. gorgeous terrace on the same floor, but with no guest access. spoke to the front desk, a rooftop bar might be in their future. the downstairs lobby/lounge area is comfortable, with inviting, deep couches in the seating area out back. this was a lovely hotel, I'll choose it again for a great night away. pertinent details: single woman, traveling alone, just a backpack, up early/bed early.

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Premier Empire State Hotel during our trip to New York! We stayed for a few nights and were genuinely impressed by how friendly, accommodating, and attentive all the staff members were. From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly and effortlessly. The room was clean and cozy — the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day exploring the city. The bathroom was spotless and fully stocked with essentials. The TV was large with great channel selections, and the view from our room, especially during sunset, was simply stunning! A special shoutout to the front desk staff who went above and beyond — she even called our next hotel (which was quite far away) to check if we could store our luggage there, saving us a lot of time and hassle. Just to share a little story: we were traveling with two checked bags, one carry-on, and a backpack. When we arrived at our next hotel, I realized I had accidentally left the carry-on at Best Western. We immediately called them, and they answered right away. They asked a few verification questions before confirming they had found our bag — which really showed how much they care about their guests and security. A huge thank you to Karla, who made sure our luggage was returned safely and to the right person. Her attention to detail and professionalism were truly appreciated! Thank you to everyone at Best Western Premier Empire State Hotel for making our NYC trip unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to friends and family!

We stayed here for a few nights and absolutely loved it. The room was cozy but didn't feel too small. We had two littles, and it still felt roomy. The workers were always happy and greeted us every time we came through. They were very helpful with any questions or if we needed something. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This is a review for Bounce baggage experience only. My only interaction was with the front desk staff members. The one who helped me with check in clearly didn't care about her job. The other woman was more warm towards guests. Very typical of NYC. I had a few options in the midtown area for baggage storage. I decided it to go with a hotel, since it feels more secure compared to a deli or another place. The drop off & pick up process was very smooth. I'd definitely do it again. I asked if I could please use the lobby bathroom. They gave me a keycard swipe for basement bathroom. Again, typical of midtown hotels like this. I read other hotel guest reviews about how the rooms are small. That's very typical of NYC hotels, especially the ones at midtown.

Yelp
Hotel and the rooms is smaller then what it seems like in the picture. Double bed room is small. It was clean and decent. Walls was thin you could hear your neighbors next door conversation. Out side people yelling. Location was close by to good hot spot amenities. But far enough from the hustle n bustle. Great services. Staff was friendly. During our time staying our Uber or Lyft was about $60 one way to and from the airport. The hotel does have a company service they use for taxis. If you have a car. I seen a garage next door that charges around $25 a day. So that kinda gives you idea. You might not need a car.

Yelp
Overall, I had a great stay here. I stayed here with 4 people total in a room with 2 double beds. The room is tiny for that many people but it's New York so can't complain much about that. Pros: - Great location. Located a 5-10 min walk from the subway station. Also located 2 blocks from Ktown. Lots of food and drink options nearby. - Accommodating in terms of getting us extra towels and toiletries. - Has some storage space, including hangers, and an iron + ironing board. Also has a hair dryer. - Bathroom has a ledge on the mirror, which is great for holding your toiletries, especially when you have multiple people staying. - They can hold your bags for $5 (flat fee regardless of how many bags), which is nice if you have a later flight since you have to check out by 11 AM. - Has ice water in the lobby for free. - Elevator is spacious and fast. Needs card to use it from the 1st floor which prevents non-residents from getting in. Cons: - Our biggest con was that our shower door did not close flush, so when you shower, the water leaks out into the bathroom. I learned that the hard way since I had to spend time cleaning up the bathroom because the foot towel was completely soaked. We eventually figured out a way to use some towels to clog the gap where the water was leaking out, though it wasn't always foolproof. - There was one day where housekeeping came earlier than the other days (we were still in the room) so we told them to come later in the afternoon. I put the sign out for "Please Make Up Room" when we left. When we got back, it was flipped to the do not disturb sign and housekeeping didn't come, which I found suspicious. - No fridge or room slippers. No laundry. - On our 1st day, we had a strange count of toiletries (3 bottles of conditioner, 2 of shampoo, 1 of body wash, 1 of lotion) and no soap bars. In the shower, there was an already opened soap bar, which I felt like was left behind by whoever stayed there before us. - All ice and water is located on level C or 1. Nothing located on your room's level. - Mattress seemed to be sagging towards the middle when 2 people sleep on it. - Fresh towels didn't seem completely clean (some stains on some of them). I would stay here again considering the price and quality of the experience. My only wish would be that I get a room without a leaky shower!

Yelp
We were not overnight guests, but the front desk staff and manager were extremely friendly and helpful when we stopped in. Wasn't expecting this type of hospitality in the city. Very impressed.

Yelp
Tiny rooms that we couldn't move in. Shower leaks into the bathroom Rain leaked into our room from a closed window. Walls are paper thin and we heard doors slamming all night.

Yelp
This was a good location, nice and clean for what we paid! It is very close to Korea Town, so there are a lot of unique and delicious restaurants near by! We loved how close it was to the subway. The staff was very friendly too!! The room was not spacious, but we expected that and were very okay with it as we did not spend much time there. Overall would say it's a great place for a tourist to rest their head at night!! Also--we did not notice a lot of homeless people or crime around the hotel. The area felt very safe at night. It's always very important to watch out for yourself wherever you are though!!!

Yelp
Sort of a partial review because we just checked in. But the location is top notch! The price was very reasonable, a bargain even because the rooms are nice. Not big but very nice, given its manhattan. And the front desk Lady/Queen (Tanya) was very helpful. In fact she's the reason we're prematurely making this 5 star review. She checked us in quite early among other things, i wont mention how early because i feel like this was such a big favor, that she might get in trouble i dont know. so yeah she was helpful and very likeable!

Yelp
This is a decent hotel but some things bothered me. Pros: - We arrived early and they let us check in early because there was a room available. - Rooms are quiet and clean. Cons: - The phone in our room didn't work so we had to go downstairs to talk to front desk. - I requested fresh towels on our last day and was told that they would send it up to the room but never received them. - I left behind my favorite robe in our room and I called them to ask about it. I was told that they would call me back but they never did so I had to call them again. They said they didn't find it. Pretty sure housekeeping kept it. :(

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights to be close to my office at the empire stage building. Great location, about a 6 min walk to my office. The room was kinda small but it worked. The front desk staff were accommodating. Comfortable beds. I'd stay here again

Yelp
I called this Best Western and told the man working that a friend would be staying for a few nights but I wanted to pay using my credit card. He told me I'd have to fill out a form, which he emailed. I did so and returned it. When my friend arrived, he was told the reservation was for a night and the rate would increase each night. So my friend called me and told me this. We tried to figure something out with the BW employee but he was argumentative and rude. So I booked two nights on Priceline for the same rate. There are so many places in NYC to stay, you think hotels would work a little harder at creating positive guest experiences. I'll never use this hotel again.

Yelp
This is not a mega-hotel... quick service at the front desk and no waiting for elevators! The staff is very friendly. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, and reasonably sized for NYC. Conveniently located near the Empire State Building,

Yelp
This was a great and reasonably priced hotel well located in Manhattan. We didn't have any issues with our stay; the room was small but it's New York so you're not spending much time in your room anyway. It was close to subway stops and only a 10 minute walk from Penn Station. Staff was courteous and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Very friendly, courteous, excellent service. The room was clean and inviting. I asked for a higher floor with a good view and I was not disappointed. The staff were nice and had a positive attitude which made this trip very memorable. The moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, exceptional service. I will stay at this hotel again. Thank you for great customer service!

Yelp
If I could give this ZERO stars I would. I had a recent family passing and was unable to attend my New York trip. I booked through a third party site and BOTH myself and the third party site were calling corporate nearly a month in advance beginning Tuesday, November 8th. After relentlessly attempting to get in touch with a manager, we finally reach a manager on Friday, November 11th. His name was Jay. ABSOLUTELY terrible management and customer service. He first yells at me and tells me it's MY FAULT I booked through a third party site and had I attempted to get in touch with him before Thursday, he might've been able to give me a refund, when I mention my calls with hopper and customer service AND CORPORATE. He says "you should've reached out to me on my personal email" HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW AS THAT IS NOT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE. After all that, he offers me a credit to the hotel which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion as I'm well within policy of receiving a refund. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANY BEST WESTERN HOTEL NOR STAY AT ANY BEST WESTERN HOTEL BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE. CORPORATE DOESNT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, THE HOTEL DOESNT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, it was truly an utter nightmare. Especially after dealing with the grief of my loved one I now have to handle the financial burden this money hungry hotel placed on me.

Yelp
The front desk staff, especially Monica, are super helpful and friendly. I called to ask about replacing towels (we've been here a few days) and Monica offered to bring them up herself immediately! She also had our stuff moved from one room to another on the 15th floor (while we were out in the city). While their sign next to the elevators said a bagged breakfast would be offered (but wasn't), the cleanliness, newness and friendliness of hotel staff makes this place amazing. On the corner opposite the hotel is a delicious breakfast place called Blank Slate. I recommend the smoked salmon bagel with capers. If you are in need of more space to hangout than is offered by the rooms, there is a first floor room with comfy chairs and tables. The location is a block or two from the subway and the hotel is centrally located. It feels very safe. I am very glad my wife found this hotel through some research. By the time we're done, we'll have spent 8 nights in this hotel.
