We would 100% stay here again. It was a convenient location. Everything was clean and we felt very safe. The staff was very friendly. I loved that we were able to use the bag storage at check out (for a small fee) so we could still explore before our flight later. The rooms were small but I believe they are all small in NYC. There is a bagel shop just down the street and the subway is close. I am so glad that we stayed here.

Just finished a stay here at the best western and we were beyond impressed. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. They always greeted us so warmly every time we walked in and made every effort to accommodate every request. The rooms and beds were quite small but it was manageable. One day we asked to use a fridge to store some leftovers and they insisted on bringing a small fridge up to our room. Incredible staff!! The rooms were quiet and clean. Would definitely come back and can’t recommend this location enough!

A wonderful place to stay. Great location and very kind staff. We were able to use the bag drop at check out for a small fee. Rooms were clean and it was a very safe place. Well worth the money. Close to subway, food, and shopping.

Overall, I would highly recommend this Best Western with one big NEGATIVE - the room a/c much, much less than acceptable. We had 2 rooms, 1 for my wife and I, and 1 for our daughter's family. The temp in both or our rooms never got below 74 with the thermostat set on 70 or below. We would go to bed with the temp at 74 and wakeup to 78. The temp in the halls and lobby were very comfortable and much less than our rooms. Our daughter's family ultimately resulted to leaving the door to their room open to be somewhat comfortable. The staff tried to remedy by moving us to new rooms, but the new rooms were no different. ||It's unfortunate because, were it not for the a/c issue, I would whole-heartedly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very modern and clean and the staff were very pleasant and gracious. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms very clean. It's a great location with easy access to the Herald Square subway station and bus stops.||And it was surprisingly quiet in the rooms. Very little street noise, in part because 36th doesn't get as much traffic as 5th Ave or 6th Ave.

The room was small but an excellent price for its location. Everything was very neat and clean. The front desk staff were superb and very friendly. They really made us feel like cherished guests.

Google
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is unbeatable—right next to the Empire State Building and within walking distance of all the major attractions in New York City. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I would especially like to commend Mr. Parthian Patel for his outstanding hospitality. He went above and beyond to help me with local recommendations and made me feel truly welcome. His warm and considerate approach added a personal touch to my experience. Highly recommended!

This hotel has all the basics you really need ,nice comfortable beds, clean toilets with all the basics, we never heard any of the other guests in the whole week we stayed. Only things to improve would be a better shower head system, it works fine and there is good level of pressure and hot water but you need to open it fully to get hot water, temperature cannot be regulated any other way and it only has the overhead shower. And a minifridge instead of refillable ice bucket would be better. But we were very comfortable and the location is amazing, right in the heart of Manhattan without being very noisy. There is places for breakfast and dinner around too. Among the staff, Mina was always helpful and kind with us, plus the smile and welcome everyday was appreciated in a city of busy people.

The service here is stellar! I was always greeted whenever I walked into the lobby, and the manager always asked how everything was. She was very understanding and allowed me to check in earlier and even gave me an upgrade with a nice view. She's just very personable and sweet. Every other staff member we interacted with was also very helpful with any requests that we had. The room was clean, and they made our visit to NYC wonderful. I would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
Stayed in this room as I was in town volunteering for NYC'S Halloween Parade. I have stayed in NYC hotels from 100 dollars to $1500 (yes, one night at the Plaza... I wasn't paying). Guess what? Most rooms are exactly the same size in this fluctuating price range. So far, the Great Western was my favorite, hands down room. The Great Western is sandwiched in between three other hotels. The GW hotel had the most non descript exterior. The room was exceptionally clean and cozy... very functional. The morning and evening front desk staff was exceptionally friendly, accommodating and welcoming, an attitude I'm not used to when checking in. I went through hotels.com and got an exceptional, inexpensive price. I found the king bed very comfortable, a room temperature thermostat that actually worked. I like this hotel and it's very convenient location in midtown, subways, herald square and Times Square. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger said in one of his movies, "I will be back." Thank you GW for adding an additional comfort level to my stay in nyc

Yelp
This place is GROSS. Small bathrooms you can barely fit in, carpet smells like someone peed all over it, curtains are falling off the rods... just feels dirty & smelly. Service was RUDE. Front desk is always on FaceTime & just very aggressive for no reason. No vending machines or ice. No mini fridges. Literally not worth it one bit. Spend the extra few dollars & go stay next door. EDIT**** WE FOUND A COCKROACH IN THE ROOM
google avatar

Paul F.

Yelp
Honestly, disgusting. Carpet smelled terrible and had stains everywhere and there was a cockroach in our shower. Stay next door

Sophia M.

Yelp
ROACHES, i asked to speak to a manager about the roaches crawling all over my suitcases and toothbrush and she apparently was "to busy" i was offered 0 compensation! the manager still hasn't contacted me. i only stayed here because im a T-mobile customer and they had a collaboration with them for discounts. i contacted t-mobile about my experience as well. DISGUSTING , roach motel vibes broken dressers dirty floors, musty curtains. stay here if you want to take roaches home

Audre B.

Yelp
My son and I had the pleasure of speaking with JUNE @ the front desk. He went above and beyond for my son and I. Check in was as smooth as can be especially after a stressful day . The extent he went is beyond measurable. I can honestly say this is the best hotel experience we have every had. I just want to thank you June for making a stressful day come to a pleasant end. I can honestly not thank you enough. If I order ahead can you come with all my Best Western stays..... LOL Thank you so very much for being an amazing person Best Western should be extremely grateful to have you

Yelp
This rating is based on service, complimentary breakfast, and location as I shopped around before deciding on this hotel. My criteria is reasonably priced, good location, clean, good service, complimentary breakfast, fitness center. Pros: Convenient location in Manhattan Clean Friendly and efficient service Complimentary breakfast with hot and cold foods Free newspaper in the lobby Free Wi-Fi Complimentary coffee, tea and infused water in the lobby Cozy bar in the back Hot shower which feels good after a long day Cons: Small rooms - tight quarters just for sleeping Basic fitness room Walls are thin I shopped around for a hotel that was clean, had a good location, reasonably priced and if possible, have complimentary breakfast and Best Western Premier Herald Square fit the bill. I know in New York, especially in Manhattan it is difficult to find a reasonable price for a stay and usually the best deals are directly on the hotel websites. I am a gym rat and I knew there was a fitness room and hoped that I could get a good work-out there. When my friends and I arrived, we were met with friendly front desk and they put us in rooms right next to each other which is great! I loved most of the amenities: free wi-fi, complimentary coffee, tea and infused water all day in the lobby, coupon for buy one drink, get one free in the bar. The rooms were small but clean. I noticed on the first day that the light in the doorway flickered out and left a note for housekeeping and when we returned that same day, the light was fixed! The second day, we were tired from walking and sightseeing and came back to the room to rest but after about 20 minutes, we heard a loud noise and it was apparent that a maintenance crew was doing some repairs in the room two doors from us and it sounded like they were in our room as they were shouting and talking loudly. So much for our naps but they did not realize anyone was in the rooms on our floor. The second day we came home around 5 from a long day out and wanted to rest and we found that housekeeping was just finishing up cleaning our room so we had to wait in our friends' room next door until she finished cleaning up our room. We thought it was a bit late but I guess it was a busy day for housekeeping. In trying out the fitness room, it is located on the lower level near the dining room and it has the basic equipment along with wet wipes, towels and water. There are no mats for stretching or extra props like stability or bosu balls. Of course the room only fits 3 machines: cycling, treadmill and elliptical and free weights. So you can get a basic workout there. We also checked out the cozy bar in the back and it has two big screens to watch sports which we did one night and we used our buy one get one free drink coupon. It was inviting and the bartender didn't rush us out at closing as the basketball playoffs had gone overtime for 5 minutes, and she let us watch until the end. As far as the complimentary buffet breakfast goes, it is well worth the stay but a heads up is get there before 8 am as it gets crowded between 8 and 9 am (hours are 6:30 to 9:30 am). Service is quick, friendly and efficient and the staff are attentive, and Muhid welcomes you and points you to an available table and cleans up tables quickly so turnover is fast. There is a variety of food available, fresh fruit, juices, hot and cold cereal, hot foods like bacon or sausages, scrambled eggs, omelettes, waffles, a toaster to heat up your bagels or toast, pastries, yogurt, coffee and tea so you have much to choose from! The location is good and easy to walk to Times Square, catch a subway or catch a tour on Big Bus or any of the other tour buses. We found that Times Square and Broadway can be very congested with people and cars and we ended up walking to and from the theatre district due to the congestion of cars. We did take Uber and Lyft during our stay and it wasn't a problem getting to our hotel. I got alot of walking during this trip and that is part of my exercise routine. We stayed here for 5 nights and I would return as it is a solid 4 star.

Yelp
Overall, a great stay and a clean hotel! My king bed room was definitely small but still had a few feet of space around the bed. I felt the squeeze more with the size of the bathroom and lack of countertop space - it made it awkward to try and use the sink without closing the door as it leaned up to the corner where the door opens. The bed and pillows were very comfortable though! I was able to check in quickly but found the front desk staff to be hit or miss. Some were clearly very slow and uncaring while others were extremely on the ball. I was only given 1 bath towel for my stay and called twice to ask for one, neither time did towels arrive. Is that difficult to accomplish? The location is great however, a 2-3 minute walk from the subway & mall. A safe area for sure! It is smaller than nearby hotels, with about 5 rooms on each floor, and 15 floors. 2 elevators with no issues during my stay as well.

Justin M.

Yelp
The room was okay. Small and functional. No fridge or microwave. Had to go to a different floor for ice which was annoying. Main annoyance for me was that one of the elevators was broken while I was there. I was on the top (17th) floor, so coming back from or going to my room involved an endless elevator wait. Kind of a bummer. OTOH I had an okay view of the Empire State Building from my window since I was up so high. Would have given it 4 stars if not for the elevator thing, but I'm taking one star off for that.

Yelp
Had a nice one night stay in at Best Western Premier on last minute decision and had to book a room in the city. Surprisingly, I was able to get a good rate especially for midtown on a week night. The room was clean and staff was friendly - easy to check in. Due to construction in the area, earplugs included nice of them to include with a note. Was able to sleep without issue. Room isn't that big but good enough for 2 beds. Ironing board and in room safe in each room. Breakfast and wi-fi are included. Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor - or if you are in a rush, get a to go bag for breakfast. Photos in the dining area are all NYC themed - definitely nice feel. complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby - though water tasted like coffee. Don't forget to sign up for Best Western rewards... being member is good to get points for every stay. For my stay, got welcome bottle of water and snack bar. Would definitely stay here again - easy to get to and travel from esp with the train stations nearby.

Yelp
Close to some nice places and shopping areas. Hotel is super close to the empire state building, Korean town, and other nice restaurants & shoppings. However, the hotel room is very small, no fridge & microwave, and views are not great from the windows. Room seems old and not well maintained because the curtains had some big rips on it and crusty. Shower was not great either, water was barely coming out had the hold my hand out and grab as much water as I can to shower myself. Staff was not great or pleasing either. They focus on getting your out of the site more than trying to make you feel welcome. As for me, I lost my trust in Best Western.

Yelp
Forwarded this photo to the NYFD. The smoke detector in my room is covered in plastic. Don't stay here if you value your life!!!

Yelp
I have stayed at this location for many years and always enjoyed my stay, staff was nice to deal with and always respected me and my privacy. Then the dark ages hit (pandemic), suddenly the hotel was always booked, there wasn't even an option to book, until recently when i was looking for a spot to book for about a week (5 days). Immediately went with this location and booked two days in a double bed and then the three other days in the executive rooms on the top couple floors that i usually reserve (wasn't avail the 1st two days). The first two nights were fine, after that i moved to the top floor and in my room most of the day. I stepped out a couple times, as a habit I ALWAYS check my key cards to the lock on my way out so that im not caught coming back and unable to get in the room because the key suddenly doesnt work, im sure we have all had that happen. I went out and hit a couple stores real quick and got back to the room and the key card didnt do anything to the door, not even the red light came on, as if the door lock was dead, it was strange cause i never seen that happen, i tapped it like 10 times, i was pissed, cause it is 17 floors up lol. Anyway, i dont know why, by i giggled the handle and the door just pushed open...???? like it was mechanically set to not latch so it can be pushed open? After it opened and i played with the handle it unlatched and then i used the same key to see if it worked and it unlocked and flashed green! Though it was weird, i figured it was a glitch, maybe from how i shut the door when i left and thought nothing more of it. When i was in the room i could immediately smell in the air the scent of body odor, like someone was sweating a lot and was in there recently and it wasn't me and it did not smell like that before i left and was only gone about a half hour. I still brushed it off because i thought, maybe it was a friend who visited me earlier and i just didn't smell it cause i was here with him and my outside errand cleared my nose out or something lol. Cause i wouldn't think the hotel would do anything shady like enter here once i leave. That was Sunday, day 3. Fast forward to Monday, again, i was in my room the entire time pretty much, i was sleeping and woke up around 6pm and ordered some food to pick up a block away, i get dressed grab my keycard head out the door, i check my keycard on the door as i always do, it unlocks making the clicking noise and flashes green. In go down head out and go get my food. It all takes me about 20-25minutes. I head back and get all the way to my door and take the keycard from my pocket that it never left and wasnt next to my phone or anything like that and try to use it and nothing happen except for the red light flashes at me. I do this multiple times and its the same thing, red light red light red light. So i go to the elevator right there and press the button to go down and i look at the door and realize that the do not disturb sign is no longer on my door and is no where in sight. I was like, "i could swear i remember seeing that on my door when i tested my keycard??". I go down to the front desk and tell her my key doesn't work and she starts to go and fix it and I'm thinking, how does she know my room, so i say 1702 (mind you, all of these little things didn't make sense to me yet, it wasn't until later that i was putting it all together in my head, but what happens next is what freaked me out and made me pack up and leave.). So brand new keycards are given and i go back up and the elevator door opens, im looking at my door as i step out and my heart drops, that feeling of a bit of shock and also feeling like, "AM I GOING CRAZY?!".... Right there staring in my face was the god damn do not disturb tag suddenly hanging on my door handle. Incase anyone is wondering, yes, the first attempt that flashed red, i did Look at the room number to make sure i wasn't being a ditz and using my key at a door on some other floor lol. I called down immediately and asked If someone was in my room, i got a "no". I made it very clear that i feel someone was in my room and mentioned that yesterday i smelled body oder as well and that i think someone has been entering the room each day in the small window of time that i step out of the room. She said there was nothing down for my room from housekeeping and no one else has access to the rooms except staff and i asked if there was a maintenance guy and she said yes but nothing is down about him going to that room as well. I said that i dont think there would be any log of whoever it is entering my room only at the times i leave to run to the store, the visit is deliberate. Im unsure what was going on or why it was happening, but it was very uncomfortable and extremely disappointed because i always loved that hotel. I still had one more day, but packed up and left that moment!

Yelp
I used to use their luggage storage frequently before I lived in the city and would have to come for business trips. It was dependable, safe, and convenient. Now, the service has drastically decreased. The last time (about a month ago) I dropped my luggage off for a few hours, I found myself constantly worrying about it and second guessing whether or not I should leave my bag there. Upon arrival, there was military personnel based in the lobby who were extremely unpleasant and appeared to be yelling at guests. Not sure why or how the quality/service plummeted so drastically.

Yelp
I was staying at this hotel during the Pandemic when one day they told me I had to leave and then check back in after 24 hours. So basically they kicked me out for no reason during the time I was quarantining. The heaters never worked in the rooms, people smoked consistently in the rooms. Vending machine did not work at all during the Pandemic. It's a shame that they kicked me out when I was positive for Covid 19! Shame on you manager! Shame! Better believe I'm taking this up to your headquarters!

Yelp
Very disappointed . Payed $791 a night for stained and tattered old sheets . When I complained about it manager told me They were getting new inventory next year . If I hadn't been so freezing cold I would have tried to get my money back . Terrible customer service .

Yelp
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this hotel. Hear me? Loved? Almost all of the staff, including Robert, the housekeepers and the breakfast attendant are very accommodating and friendly, but the female bartender was not at all attentive or friendly. Just like every other hotel in New York, the average rooms are small, but this one has sufficient drawer space, a small closet, a nightstand on both sides of the bed and a small bathroom with a thoughtful design that provides space to place personal items. It's great that I don't have to throw everything on the floor like I've had to do before in New York hotels. It is possible to actually walk around the entire king sized bed with space to spare. The shower is large and awesome with great water pressure There is a large wall mirror inside the entrance door, which is great when two people are trying to get ready at the same time. The room provides a nice selection of tea and coffee, but there is no microwave or mini fridge. There is a perfect space for a mini fridge under the desk, so it would be nice if they would provide one. I was so happy that thermostat is on the wall so there isn't the booming sound that usually emanates from the floor units when the heat or air kick in. As for breakfast: The breakfast attendant was very sweet and provided me with a "to go" box. The breakfast spread was huge with practically everything one could dream of, but of everything I selected, only the bagel and potatoes were edible. Music was blaring from the bar patio two floors below us every night we returned to our room. FYI, DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM ON THE FIRST THREE OR FOUR FLOORS! We had to listen to this crap for hours and that is inexcusable. We paid full price through BW way in advance of our stay, so I was pissed that we were given a room on a floor above the bar. The walls are very thin, so you will be able to hear your neighbors on a Skype call with their grandchildren. I would stay at this hotel again, but I would demand a room above the 7th floor when I reserve the room. I

Yelp
Clean rooms and great customer service. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one is affordable prices and gives you great quality for what you pay for a nights stay. They don't have fridges in the room but have an ice machine you can use or you can use their personal fridge. They also have a microwave downstairs for customers to use. Only thing I didn't like is hearing others slam their doors and the walls are thin so I heard loud voices, yelling, kid's playing etc in the other rooms when I was trying to sleep. But overall great quality for my 5 night stay.

Yelp
Excellent! Totally worth the price and close shopping right across the street has a great clothing store to don't miss out. The people were gracious and the morning breakfast was good too. It's Halloween time since it's October and they actually are festive. Real nice to see that. Thanks and will see you again soon

Yelp
Small room space, no fridge and microwave, but we still love it, clean room & the beds are comfy. Friendly staff and hotel is in good location, highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again if we're back in the city. We booked this hotel thru Dayuse app, I'm glad Best western premiere has this service. So convenient since we only needed at least 4 to 5hrs to stay while waiting in the city with a toddler and my husband having to drive in ny with little sleep coming from work. He and my son had a very well rested nap, our room was in 6th flr and we weren't bothered by any noise. If I didn't have to work the next day, most likely we would've stayed overnight because we got so relaxed in our room. Thanks Best Western Premiere, we will definitely be back.

Mike A.

Yelp
As a frequent Diamond Select BW business traveler for over a decade, this was my first "Premier" experience. And yes, it was unique! Gehad and her staff were very responsive. Showing up in the room for the most minor concerns within minutes. (Meaning less than 5) And room was on the top floor! Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Eg: cheese and spinach omelets. Room was quite with a stunning view of Empire State Bldg. Location was better than anticipated. The 34th St. Subway entrance was less than a 10 min. walk. Conveniently walkable location to near by Time Sq. and Broadway theaters, yet far enough to completely avoid the constant Las Vegas Strip like noise and lights. Room size was on par with other populous cities: Paris and Tokyo. A variety of restaurants to choose from just outside the hotel. Steak House, Irish Pub. Outstanding Chinese Dim Sum, etc. Yes, I would stay at Herald Sq over and over again. Thank you Ms. Abdelhamid and staff.

Yelp
I would like to thank the management and staff at the Best Western Harold Square for making my 1st trip to NYC a great one. We got I to the city later then expected, and needed to get changed and to Broadway. The Hotel allowed us an early check-in. Which allowed us to freshin up prior to the show. The rooms were small as described in other reviews, but very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a great nights sleep and a great breakfast after long days in the city. Thank you again for the fantastic hospitality!

Yelp
This Review is for the bar only: Me and my co workers would frequently come to the back bar after work for drinks- everything was fine until they hired this bartender named Sergio- he would smile a lot and always pretend to be really polite, that is until he started overcharging all of us thinking we wouldn't catch it- in the beginning I didn't want to say anything because the bar was a convenient location and it was usually only one drink or so but when it started happening every time, we all stopped going there. Cut to 3 months after we stopped going there, me and 3 of my co workers all got charges ranging from 1,000-2,100 each on our cards all in one day! When I called management they said that their machine was broken for the past year and they are running all the charges now. Wow! I went to my bank and showed them that all my charges always went through and here is my proof they said well sorry we have different! I am seeing a bunch of different large amounts in charges when it was always only me on my tab. I literally had to take them to court and eventually got all my money back but Sergio and the staff are either completely incompetent or straight up thieves! BEWARE of sergio running your credit card (he kept my card OPEN on file for over 3 months!) Always check your bill. And if you need to go for any reason always use cash.

Yelp
Very clean and comfortable hotel, close to 5th Avenue and close to Herald Square, plenty of restaurants nearby. However I received very poor customer service at check-in. First the negative: Had a voucher to use so I picked this location. Booked the reservation with Best Western central booking over the phone, received confirmation code. Once I arrived, the check-in guy said he couldn't accept the voucher for whatever the reason. He made a quick call and said, we can't accept it. I insisted there had been a mistake and asked him to call customer service, and he contradicted me and said, I just got off, you saw me, there's nothing we can do. I called customer service, stayed on hold waiting for 25 minutes for a supervisor, insisted that he put in more effort to help resolve the situation, rather than, oh nothing I can do, can't help you attitude. I finally reached a supervisor and she explained what the error was. She apologized and gave him the appropriate way to validate the voucher. Simple error, but not enough to just say sorry I can't help you. He get's zero stars. Bottom line, the daytime check-in staff needs to significantly improve their overall professionalism. I also felt left out during this overall frustrating situation because the two men were speaking in a foreign language in front of me. I felt that was rude and I had no way of knowing if they were talking about me or about something else? That was very far from welcoming. Once it was resolved, he really did not seem very apologetic at all. Completely lacked any sort of compassion to the mistake made on Best Western's end. The lady on the phone was very polite. Now for the positives: 4 stars - I was impressed with the modern decor and overall cleanliness. - 24-hour self-service coffee, tea, hot water, ice water at the lobby - low noise level - comfortable queen size bed - kind of a small room - great complimentary breakfast - flat screen tv in the room with clean remote in a little tissue type bag - free wi-fi - modern style bathroom, again very clean. I only wished the shower head could move a bit more, the water came out too close to the wall so I had to sort of squeeze and stand closer so rest of the shower stall was just unused space. - cool back bar and patio - exercise room in basement - The complimentary breakfast runs from 7:30 am - 9:30 am. I called the front desk at 9:24 am when I woke up and asked whether I missed breakfast. They suggested that I go anyway, there would still be food. There was plenty of food by the time I reached at 9:35 am. Hot pancakes, hard boiled eggs, beef sausage links, bread and bagels for toasting, butter, cream cheese, jams, pastries, hot oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice and tea. I was very impressed with the breakfast. The lady working there explained they discontinue putting out food at 9:30 am, but there was plenty left. As I was leaving a little after 10 am, people were still coming in, however their selection was probably only limited somewhat. - The gentleman that helps with bags in the morning, and the gentleman at the check-in weekday late shift - were both very welcoming. Excellent customer service! - When you check-out in the morning, they will hold your bags/luggage for a few hours if needed. Even though the check-in experience was unpleasant, for the future I will call the hotel directly to ensure that my reservations are consistent with their records on site. I will return and I would recommend this hotel to someone else.

Yelp
I have found Best Western hotels to be a reasonable compromise between affordability and quality. I found this one to be reasonably priced (at the rate I paid for one night, including WiFi and free breakfast). But having stayed at a Berlin BW Premier I have to say this is not worthy of the Premier tag. Very courteous front desk and wait staff at breakfast. Hotel bed was clean and comfortable as was the bath. The pillows were a little too fat for my comfort but not lumpy. I would stay here again. Stay here for the location, not to spend days inside the hotel. IMRAN

Yelp
Is it cozy or is it small? I'm going with cozy and a bit small. Just about two blocks from the Empire State Building, this gem is a nice place to rest from the bustle of the city. Cons: - The walls are a little thin. (On the plus side, the people next door seem to be having a nice "adult" time.) - The rooms are small. Bed. Mini ironing board. Small desk. Bathroom. Pros: - Continental Breakfast! Nothing fancy, but all tasty. - Fitness room. Not large, but it has everything you need to take the edge off. - Shower stalls big enough for two (or just you). - Bar/Lounge with happy hour specials! (Adulting for those of you that like to Adult.) - CLEAN!!! Can't be overstated, the value of a clean hotel room. This is a place I would definitely return to when passing through the City.

Yelp
Nice clean rooms. Staff was amazing. Bebe at the desk was the sweetest and very helpful with any needs/accommodations. Breakfast has great choices. Centrally located for shopping, close to subway for easy access to wherever you want to go. Great cafe across the street for wraps, pizza, hot bar and good deserts and smoothies just a couple doors down. Standard rooms are small for 3 females but we made it work.

Yelp
Such an amazing stay. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, I was on the second floor - which was great for people watch. The staff was professional and helpful. This would be my first choice when I go back to visit.

Yelp
Not the room I booked online. When questioned about the mix up I was 1st told the rooms were not available then in the same conversation I was told the rooms were out of order. Being that the rooms are on the top floors I decided to take a look at the top floors and there were people walking out of their rooms. At this point I'm over it. If I could've gotten my money back and found another room at a different hotel I would've. SO ANNOYED! Never returning.

Yelp
I left my toiletry bag in the hotel when we checked out. As soon as I returned home I called the hotel and I was told to call back in the morning. I called back and was told they would check and call me back in a couple of hours. After 6 hours I called back and they had the bag. Fast forward 3 weeks and MANY phone calls later. Not one phone call was ever returned. I sent return postage to them (it was tracked and received), and still my package is not in the mail to me. I am a Platinum BW member and have NEVER had any issues with any other BW hotel. Robert was particularly rude over the phone, speaking over my husband and myself in various phone conversations. Not to mention the upselling of bus tours and taxi service to JFK. Will NEVER stay there again. Better Business Bureau, Best Western Hotels, and AAA will also get a complaint. Update: 3 business days and package still is not scanned into the post office.

Yelp
I would highly recommend this hotel! The front desk staff is so helpful and polite! The gal at the front,(I lost her card) helped me locate my husband! Long story...but she really went above and beyond. Aside from the wonderful staff, the rooms were small, to be expected in NYC, but VERY clean. We had 2 adults and 2 children in our room. I wouldn't try to fit anymore than that. The location can't be beat! Walking distance to everything! We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
Pros: Location! Price. It's new and clean! Free wifi. Free breakfast. Pleasant staff. Cons: my room, on the top floor was smallish, but the air vent was right over the bed. It blew constantly...hot up to my thermostat temp and then cold. By the second night I had to request another blanket. Hot water seemed to take a very long time to reach my floor. I'm not a fan of the ceiling shower heads. It's hard to keep your head dry on non-shampoo days and hard to rinse soap out of long hair on shampoo days. Un-used amenities: gym, bar, fitness center, in room coffee maker but they're here! I'd stay here again in a pinch, but not my first choice with so many other hotels on the block.

Yelp
Unsure about all of the 5-star reviews for this hotel. It's not bad by any means, but nothing special. Average at best. Entrance is very small, and one of those hard plastic doors to keep the weather out in NYC. The lobby is decent with free coffee and water. Complimentary breakfast in the morning I would say is above average. Rooms are VERY small, which isn't abnormal for NYC, but some of the smallest I've been in. Not worth $300+ per night. If you can, avoid high floors. I was originally placed on the top floor (17th) and the noise from the elevators is incredible. I should have know by the ear plugs they give you in the rooms. All night long all you will hear is the clanking of the gears. Kept me up all night. I asked concierge to put me on a lower floor, which they did, and it helped a bit. All in all, it's a servicable hotel with some caveats. However, not worth over $300/nt in my opinion.

Yelp
We stayed here on our family trip for 3 nights recently. I picked this hotel due to its location and free breakfast option which wasn't something I could find in most other hotels. Located at 36th and 6th, you can walk to Times Square whenever which was amazing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We were a group of four and stayed in one room with two beds. The room itself was very small but I guess you are going to have that everywhere. Like others noted, their breakfast is actually pretty good!

Yelp
Back in December we stayed at this hotel. We returned to our room at 1AM. At approximately 10 AM that morning the "housekeeping manager", knocked on our door to have the maintenance man change the smoke alarm. As I opened up the door, with my tooth brush in hand, she proceeded to open the door while I am standing right behind it. They barged right in to change out the smoke alarm. The "housekeeping manager" kept the door wide open and kept getting in my way as I was trying to get in and out of the bathroom. Was it imperative to have this done at that moment? It couldn't have waited until we checked out? I certainly found this very inconvenient and an unpleasant surprise. We paid about $313 for our room, which we had a check out time that we were trying to adhere to. I would think the staff would be more professional, considerate and apologetic for interrupting our morning. There is no excuse for terrible customer service.

Yelp
We stayed at the BW for 1 night stopover on our way to Ireland. Bebe at the front desk was awesome, she put us in a high room away from traffic so we could get a good nights sleep, and we did! Room was small, but most rooms are in NY are . Bed was comfortable, shower was hot. Every staff member we encountered was very nice and helpful! We will be back! Thanks

Yelp
Stayed for 6 nights, June 2016. You have to recalibrate your expectations if you're staying in Manhattan. Room rates that would get you a private suite with a hot tub and a bottle of Veuve in Vegas might not even get you your own bathroom in the Big Apple. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the size and decor of the room. The bed was weird - queen width but short, whoever got up first always bumped each other's feet in the morning walking past - but it was soft and fairly comfy. There were two nightstands with small drawers and one dresser with 3 amply sized drawers, each wide enough to lay a pair of pants flat. A slide-out writing desk gave extra space to the slimline table, whose lamp had a charging port. The pod coffeemaker worked fine. The room was clean and looked newly renovated - silicone tile grout in the bathroom was still stark white and a bit sticky. Shower was narrow but long enough for 2 if you like that; no tub, and the bathroom door and shower door pretty much covered the whole bathroom floor with their swings. Window opened out to a rather dramatic view of the ESB - if you craned your neck. The safe was just barely large enough for my 15" Macbook, not big enough for my opposite number's clunkier 15" windows laptop. Shameza at the front desk was wonderful, and the bartender, whose name I didn't catch, was great to us - I enjoyed drinking in his lounge enough that we bypassed other places to come back and catch a drink there. The night desk crew was also very helpful when one of our room keys demagnetized. The room - south side - was quiet and we were not bothered by elevator noise, but the housekeepers definitely seemed to go out of their way to make as much noise as possible early in the morning when we would have preferred to sleep in. Location was perfect - Broadway, Herald Square, Macy's, the Empire State building, Koreatown, Rockefeller Center, and about a dozen soccer-themed Irish bars in walking distance; and nearly every subway line and other transit connection you could ever want. I believe Airtrain plus the subway/NJ Transit probably beats a cab on price, time and convenience. I felt safe walking at all hours of day and night around the place. And the prices were reasonable, again, for NYC - not for anywhere else in the world. But final word, I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone I was trying to impress.

Yelp
Stayed a night for my birthday, super clean. As I was very skeptical about staying in New York. Definitely wasn't what I expected. Clean sheets, no dust or anything. Right in the middle of restaurants, bars. 11 minute walk from to grand central which was very convenient to everything. When I come back I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Yelp
Confirmation Number: 100452116: I was charged $1,043.22 and I did not stay at the hotel. When I tried calling the hotel about the charges I was constantly put on hold. I reached out to BW customer care and was told "that they cannot process any refund for your reservation as it  was booked with a non-refundable rate. But yet the reservation stated that I could cancel for free till June 5th and after it would be $899.97. They make rules as they go. Stay Away from this hotel. I have always like BW, but I will never stay with them again!

Yelp
Affordable option for the city. Rooms are tight, but clean. Central location. Staff seemed courteous. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment in an underwhelming space. There were very few options left by the time I made it down just before 9am. The bar is cozy and they have happy hour specials. It ended up being the perfect place to unwind after a day of trucking around town. I would recommend staying if you can snag a good rate.

Yelp
Excellent hotel bar! Friends and I came from the not great American Hall next door. My comparison, the not too crowded, not too loud hotel bar across the street with the great happy hour deal was an absolute delight. It feels weird hanging out at a hotel bar as an NYC local, but even as a local this is just a legit great Midtown bar. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The night of 3/13/18, early morning of 3/14/18, I called this Best Western location and talked to the man at the front desk twice. They accidentally took payment twice on my card. I was on the phone with Chase and Chase's operator told me to call Chase back while I was on a 3-way call with the merchant (Best Western) for Chase to be able to okay a credit to my account for the amount that Best Western mistakenly charged. I called Best Western, the man told me to call back and I called back 3x while on 3-way with an operator from Chase and the Best Western intentionally hung up on me and now won't answer the phone! It's absolutely unbelievable to me. I'm calling tomorrow to talk to a manager to report his dodging any kind of work attitude, in the meantime, inconveniencing me again! When I stayed here it wasn't so bad, but it wasn't good either. Last time I ever go there again. I really hope the guy who kept hanging up on me gets dealt with accordingly.

Yelp
For the location, service, cleanliness, and overall experience, not much can compare in the time square area. There was complimentary breakfast, the wifi was good and customer service was exceptional, especially Bebe and Jay. It is literally steps from many of the popular tourist attractions. They also have a small bar lounge that was very quaint and good priced.

Yelp
We had some best western points to burn, and since we were planning a NYC trip decided to give this hotel a try. Advice to other travelers, do NOT expect this hotel to be like the Mid-town Hilton. It's much cheaper, and you get what you pay for. 1) Your room will be small 2) The bathroom - shower will be small with little counter space 3) There is a very small lobby That said, this hotel has some very good points; 1) Very friendly front desk staff that treats you personally and seems to value your vusit 2) Excellent FREE breakfast 3) Central location in a good/safe area of the city. It's not a top of the line botel, but I would stay there again

Yelp
Very reasonable. The room was SMALL but I wasn't planning on socializing there. I would have liked a dresser of some sort. I had to stay a week and needed some elbow room. The employees were terrific. The best thing was the fantastic breakfast bar. The place was clean and there was no waiting for anything. I didn't hear the noise from outside which was not the case in the last two hotels I stayed at. I prefer this over the Roosevelt and the Grand Central Hyatt. There are no shuttle services to the airport which sucked but whatever.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel for any visitor to New York City. It is located at a central location, has excellent service and feels clean and modern. However, the reason it doesn't get five stars, is because of the breakfast services. They offer a good range of food, and it varies every morning (everything from bacon and eggs to pancakes and sausages), but the room is way to small to fit all the hotel's guests. Some mornings people have to wait in line outside the room in order to get a table, and the line stretches all the way to the elevator. The hotel can improve on this by getting smaller chairs (the current ones are unnecessarily large) so they can fit more tables.

Yelp
I lucked up on a sweet deal on Hotels.com was able to get a room here for under $150. The location is perfect for whatever type day or night you are trying to have. The hotel staff was very pleasant and the hotel is next to a spat that serves breakfast. The room was comfortable, clean, A/C worked perfect and I had a view. There is a sitting area in front of the building, good for people watching. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop. It is New York ( I love NYC). I checked the price day after checkout the room goes for $250 and up...ouch!!!! I would definitely stay here again if I could get a good deal.

Yelp
This place is in a great location and the rooms are beautiful! The front desk staff ALWAYS greeted us when we left for the day and when we came back later. The showers. Omg the showers. It was like taking a shower underneath a waterfall! I could have seriously spent hours just in the shower alone. The beds were very comfortable and they don't skimp on the fluffy pillows. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the staff made sure I had everything I could have needed. I would definitely stay here again

Yelp
This review is total about the Middle Eastern male receptionist who worked graveyard shift on Monday 07/01/13. I got back to the hotel around midnight, met him for the first time, politely asked if we could check out late on Tuesday . Without looking back at me, he told me that the most I could get was 30', which mean I had to check out at 11:30 am. I understand that this is NYC, people are not nice, they don't give a sh.t about u, but this is his JOB, he gotta be nice to ME. Let s move forward. The next morning, 10:30am, someone already called me and ask if I wanted to stay for another day!?!?!? This showed that he did not even take my request down, which pissed me off even more. Next was silly me clumsily asked him to call me a local taxi. I needed to go from 36th and 6th to 29th and 7th. Instead of getting me a yellow cab, he got me one of those limousine-look-a-like taxi which charged me $25 for any local trip (for a yellow cab would have been $10-$12) House keeping cleaned my room without restocking shampoos and soaps. I do not understand what is so premier about this hotel????

Yelp
Really nice people, the rooms are small buy super cute. They very retro green rooms, I fell in love with how they were decorated it. Free wifi, direct TV, and continental breakfast. For the location, the cost and the service I will definitely be back!!
