Best Western Premier Hotel Slon

I recently stayed at the Best Western Premier Hotel Slon in Ljubljana and was overall very pleased with my experience. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very clean and well-equipped. Despite the limited space, you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shower is a bit dated and could use some renovation, but it still works just fine. The breakfast was definitely a highlight – varied, fresh, and with something for everyone. The hotel bar is also very nice, with a stylish atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing evening. What really stood out to me was the staff, especially at the reception: extremely professional, efficient, competent, and genuinely friendly. They made the whole experience smooth and welcoming from the start. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a central location – I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a really nice hotel located so close to everything in the Old City. Just a short walk to the river, restaurants and all of the sites. The only difficult thing was arriving with a car as the hotel is located on the walking promenade. I finally found out that hotel guests ARE allowed to drive on the promenade up to the hotel where they will valet park your car. After this, it was a breeze. Check-in was simple and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was really nice and comfortable. Comfortable bed, shower and bathroom. They even offer a selection menu for pillows. We were given a lovely room facing the promenade which was wonderful. Only complaint was that the room never got as cool as it should have. I think maybe the AC unit was not cooling well. It was very easy to order the car when we needed it. The valet even went and retrieved my ipad, that I had left, from the car and was very kind. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, and breakfast was amazing!!! Such a wonderful selection and variety.

We had a really nice stay here, and overall the hotel was of a much better standard than our experiences staying in other Best Western properties.||Central location was a big plus with this hotel. Very nice room. Yes it could do with some updating, but nothing to write home about.|The breakfast was excellent, plenty choice, and a nice set up for a day exploring the lovely city of Ljubljana. The staff were all friendly. A really nice lounge bar area (when open - see below)||Only complaint we had was on our last night, a Sunday. We returned to the hotel about 8.30pm after a meal to have a drink in the hotel bar, only to find it shuts at 8pm on Sunday, so this was not possible and we had to go back out again to go elsewhere. This is something I have never experienced in a 4* hotel. ||The closed bar experience led me to award the hotel a 4* instead of a 5* review.

My husband and I were very happy with our hotel choice for 4 nights. The teakettle was quick and offered several kinds, good coffee as well. We were given a new box of water each day. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job tidying and replenishing the room daily. We were glad to have paid for the breakfast as it set us up nicely for the day. We were very comfortable with the sofa, big bed and great pillows. The front desk personnel were efficient and friendly. Than you Slon, job well done.

We just wanted a hotel in the center of Ljubljana, which were not too expensive, but still had good service and nice rooms. And that is what we got!|Our room was spacious and the beds were SO good. My only complaint at all was, that I didn't much like the pillows.|The bathroom had L'Occitaine amenities - nice touch - and it was overall nice and quiet at night. Well, there was a lot of noise outside in the street in front of the hotel, but the minute you closed the window, you couldn't hear it anymore.|Very good breakfast. A huge variety of different food, and the quality was above expected. All the danish pastry and the croissants were so good. And there was prosecco too :-)|Nice concierge, VERY nice cleaning ladies (smiling and saying "hello, how are you?"), and nice staff in the bar/brasserie.|And the shuttle bus to the airport, which the hotel called, was so much cheaper, than the taxa, we had rented form the airport to the hotel, even though booking.com told me, that I got a huge discount...|I have paid much more and stayed much less nice in other capitals. The four stars, I give, are because it is so good value for money.

Lovely hotel, clean, spacious room and great breakfast with lots of options. Kind accommodating staff. Steps from everything. The room was quiet and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. We didn’t have a drink in the lounge, but it was very inviting with desserts available and they allowed dogs.

Personally, I found the location perfect. The building is a bit dated but that’s part of its charm. Beautiful hardwood floors in the rooms and a nice bathtub. The beds were incredibly comfy and cozy. Food was exceptional. They should offer online check in to help with bottlenecks at the front desk!

While it's rated as a 4-star property, the level of care and attention from the staff truly felt 5-star.||I won't single out anyone specifically at Reception because every single person was superb — so welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. They even asked how my journey to the hotel was, which felt so personal and thoughtful. While checking in, I mentioned I was a bit thirsty, and without hesitation, the receptionist arranged for someone to bring me a glass of water — such a small gesture but it made a big difference. Reception team — you are simply amazing!||At the Bar/Restaurant, Krytyna and Asmir stood out with their attentiveness. They made sure I never had to wait long to place my food and drink orders and were incredibly friendly throughout my visits.||The hotel itself is in an unbeatable location — close to everything yet tucked away just enough to avoid the hustle and bustle of the main bus station (only about a 10-minute walk). Surprisingly, even though it's on a main road, my room was very quiet. The room had everything I needed: a comfortable bed and pillows, a good-sized TV, a kettle with coffee and tea supplies, slippers, a bathrobe, and even an iron with an ironing board. What more could you ask for?||Would I return and recommend this hotel?|Absolutely, without hesitation — 100%!|In fact, I already have friends heading to Slovenia this Christmas, and I’ve shown them this hotel and recommended it wholeheartedly.
