How to Spend 3 Days Traveling Route 66 in Missouri

"For a Springfield stay I appreciated the Historic Best Western Rail Haven’s quaint rooms and convenient location—it's an easy base with quick access to downtown and Cherry Street's shops and bars." - Matthew Kepnes

Our dog Blue gives this place five bones. He is not a fan of the laminate flooring in the rooms, but he has his humans trained well so they always roll out the carpets. (We bring carpet runners.) When we will up to the motel, he starts doing his excited dance and whine. He loves the big grassy area in the back where we have spent hours playing ball. This motel is his absolute favorite. We like it as well. It is in a good location and we love that it is on Route 66.

Google
About as good as you can get for a motel! My favorite parts are the cleanliness, the included breakfast, and the friendly front desk staff. Check in was super easy even though I was a little nervous since I made my reservation through a third party. Walking distance from a couple of food places, a flea market, and a coffee shop. Love that the towels and sheets were nice and clean, no mold or bugs or anything. Shower pressure and temp were great. Heater worked well. I would say my only small complaints were that the road noise was definitely a thing since my room was facing the street right in front. Have to sleep with earplugs. The beds are a bit stiff, but I was just happy that they were clean so no biggie. The room did have a classic musty motel smell but nothing terrible. I’d probably stay here again though all things considered!

Google
Nice little motel… definitely on the older side but it’s expected if they tell you Elvis stayed here before. It’s a motel set up not a hotel. Customer service was definitely awesome, cleaning lady’s came often, the exterior was kept clean… only negative is the smell was definitely musty each day I walked in and the beds were definitely worn. Overall this gave the vibe of a nice but older 2 star hotel.

Google
Rooms are old and a little tired. They were clean and fine for a night. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, great selection and the staff were very friendly. Definitely value for money, but definitely no extras in the rooms. Unfortunately they had weird brackets extending from the bed bases, not sure what for, and can cause a nasty bruise, and room keys and Wi-Fi were a hit and miss. Off street parking was a bonus.

Cute little place and reasonable price. Very clean and nice people. Breakfast should have been better supplied, but they did have a lot of people staying. We really liked that we could just pull up to the door of our room.

Let's start with customer service, couldn't get any worse. Called at 11:00 for an early check in if possible since my husband wasn't feeling well. Was told since they sold out the night before that they would have to call me back at 1:00. I get that, no problem. I called back at 1:30 since I hadn't heard anything and was told that my type of room still wasn't available. I asked what type of room was available, I'd pay extra if necessary, but the other rooms were reserved. I then called back at 2:30 and they told me they clean the double rooms first and the king beds later, so they still had nothing ready for me. We finally just went to the hotel and say outside at 3:00. I went in and checked and they still told me no. We watched for housekeeping coming out of any rooms and we never saw a soul. Mind you, we were sitting right across from the room we would eventually get, so we didn't miss them. I went back at 3:50 and they finally said it was ready! Now let's get to the horrible, stale odor of the room. The mattress that felt like an old fashioned water bed, it was so saggy you could hardly roll over in the bed. The caulk around the sink that looked like it had been chewed up. And last but not least, the sink wouldn't drain. We didn't even attempt breakfast after seeing the people fighting for position to get something on their plate. I've never been so disgusted with a Best Western before. I still can't believe the good reviews on this place. My only thought is that they must have rooms that haven't been remodeled and we were fortunate enough to get the oldest nastiest room they had.

Google
Old fashioned drive up motel where you park directly in front of your room. The staff was very friendly. The pool was half filled filled with dirty rain water. Maybe it was open during the summer travel season? Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of choices. Liked the vintage feel of the motel. It probably has a very interesting history, as shown in the many photos of its past posted in the rooms and lobby.

Google
What an adorable place! Brings back a lot of memories of traveling as a kid...yet with modern day conveniences. Beds are comfortable, flat screen tv's, air conditioning. Only thing missing is a soda machine with 10c Coke in bottles. ||Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hope to get to stay here again sometime.

Yelp
On our way from Paducah, Kentucky, we stopped in Springfield, Missouri and found this Best Western while traveling along historic Route 66. We thought it looked cute from the outside with that classic Route 66 vibe, and it turned out to be a nice little stop. The hotel was neat and clean -- definitely an older property, but well-kept and comfortable. We chose to stay at another Best Western because we had such a great experience the night before, and this one came close! The staff were all very friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch before getting back on the road. I especially liked the nostalgic Route 66 décor -- it really fit the theme of our cross-country trip learning about the history of America's Main Street. After breakfast, we packed up and headed toward Oklahoma City (which turned into quite the adventure -- plenty of stories there ). Overall, this was a solid stop for the night with good service and a fun vintage feel.

Yelp
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I loved the deep tub in the bathroom. They have an old telephone booth, that you have to use to get the front desk to open the lobby late at night. The pool looked inviting, but had to leave before we got a chance to use it.

Yelp
Great value hotel! I have been traveling all week and this hotel breakfast was the best so far. Well stocked and with hot options also. I love the old school feel of this motel. It was also very clean. I did not take very many pictures but everything was functional and adequate. I would most definitely come here again

Yelp
For the price, this hotel is a nice 4 stars, but compared to other hotels like Marriott, Hilton, etc. I would lower my rating. The bathroom was really, really small and outdated. The bed and pillows were fine. Our key didn't work so we had to go to the office to get another. Breakfast was subpar, but not terrible. No water fountain, but there was free water in the fridge. The room overall was moderately clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I loved our stay here. My boyfriend and I were traveling with our dog, there was a great back area for him to be walked in, the room itself was clean and well appointed with amenities. The grounds were well kept up, the vintage cara on property were so cool, as well as the giant original Best Western sign located in the breezeway between the buildings. Will definitely be staying here again. I will note, the property is pet friendly, but not every room is. I originally booked the Jacuzzi Tub room but due to allergens they put me in a double room with a regular tub.

Yelp
Our hotel room was very clean and cozy. The staff member that checked us out on 6-8-25 around 9am was so friendly and kind. She was very accommodating with our toddler and gave him snacks and a lollipop which made his day! Breakfast was really good too!

Yelp
This morning I made a booking error through price line by one day. The reservation is over two weeks away. Within 20 minutes, my partner mentioned I picked the wrong night by one day. Called price line and they refused to help me. So I called the hotel myself and was blown away by the kindness, professionalism, and understanding they gave me. Without question, they moved my nights stay by one day. Prices here are great, and the location is fantastic. I highly recommend this location if you need to stay in Springfield.

Yelp
It had been a while since I had stayed in a motel. Most of the time it's a trashy or average experience. But not here. I intended to stay here since this was a classic Route 66 stop, and since I was on a Route 66 trip...it's a no-brainer! (This was the only classic hotel/motel I was willing to stay at) I didn't know until I checked in at the lobby that Elvis Presley stayed here at one time. He stayed at Room 409, just in case you're wondering. (Wonder if that inspired the Beach Boys song?) Anyway, before Best Western bought this out, this was a classic tourist court on the Mother Road. Be sure to walk around the grounds and you'll find some classic signs, including the old Best Western sign from the 1980s. The room was fine, like it was clean and all. If you're looking for something very entertaining to watch, be sure to turn to the Route 66 channel. I'm not sure if it is available only here or throughout the city or certain places, but you get an entertaining watch with an hour-long Route 66 documentary - shown in a loop. Give it a watch if you have an hour to kill! Would stay here again when in Springfield.

Mom W.

Yelp
We chose this on our Route 66 trip specifically for the history. We were thrilled with the property! It was fresh and clean and reminded me of places I stayed with my family as a child. I had forgotten how easy it is to get luggage in and out when the car is parked at your door. We will go there the next time we need lodging in the area!

Jonas O.

Yelp
Arrive late night from a delayed United flight ,to find out that this was a crappy motel that had a 3.5 star review on Expedia, but it serves a zero saw rating . it's a creepy place that cockroaches won't even live in .There were sketchy ladies were talking crap about each other in front of a hotel room. The hotel room was the last one in the corner of the building. Enter the hotel room the first thing I smelled was dampness continue to walk through the hotel room into the bathroom. It smelled like more covered by Febreze. 2 gallons of Febreze couldn't even fix it. there was a massive coffee stand when you walked in. Sheets had a light yellow dyed color to the bottom party.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed in the Elvis's room on 1/2/2022. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. The only complaint we had was that the AC/heater was loud. I am still giving it 5 stars because we really enjoyed our stay.
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
Would give 0 stars if I could. This place is a dump. Only stay here if you want to listen to teenagers scream and yell in the parking lot and brag about hitting cars with basketballs. Took two calls to the front desk and still nothing was done about it

Julia H.

Yelp
Fun 30s through 70s style motel. Model A is parked out front with decorative gas pumps as you enter the lobby. We stayed in a family suite that had a king bed and a separate room that had a bunk bed .. twin on top and double (futon) on bottom. The mattresses have seen obvious use with small indentations but the bedding was clean. The bathroom was decorated as 50s style with the black and white tile flooring. My favorite was the area to eat breakfast. See the photo. The do serve a different style of eggs and sausage daily so if that matters, call and ask before booking.

Yelp
This place is a MUST stay at on any Route 66 road trip!! The first ever Best Western, restored to its modern day glory with old school nostalgia!! They have have the original Best Western sign there for photo ops! Unfortunately, it does not light up. The main hotel sign however, does light up!! So if you stay here, make sure you venture out at night and look at the lights. It is very charming!! Stayed here over the summer on a June night while on the road with my travel pup. Checking in was easy and they sure do welcome your furbaby! Dog fee was $15 if I remember correctly. The check in lady was super nice and explained some sights and things to do and told me about the pool being open. I did not venture into the pool, but kinda wished I did take a peek at it. On the hotel grounds, there is classic cars around and even some old gas pumps. Perfect place to get some classic Route 66 pictures. For dogs, she gave me a room along the back row. There was a huge grass area for the dogs!! I loved it!! Just a short walk across the parking to the grass area for dogs! Our room had 2 beds with a microwave and mini-fridge as well. They have a ice machine located in the center of the place, so not a far walk from any side. Parking is right outside your room which I like as opposed to walking all around a hotel. If I forgot something, I can literally just step outside the door to get it. Easy to load and unload your car! The breakfast in the morning was included and delicious! Definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I had during this trip!! The breakfast area is small and there are some tables inside to eat, or you can eat at one of the tables outdoors, or take it back to your room to enjoy. Everyone here was super nice and friendly. The check in lady was very nice, the older couple I met during breakfast was nice and when I was leaving, the maintenance guy was super friendly and was chatted for a bit as he asked about my dog and my trip. He even told me to make sure I get ice and stay hydrated for the rest of my drive! This place is a must stay at on a Route 66 trip. If I ever pass by here again, I would stay here again! This place did not disappoint me at all!

Yelp
EXCELLENTBikers need to stay here! All first floor rooms, with porches so you can sit outside. Fresh clean comfortable rooms ,comfortable beds, black out curtains, really nice housekeepers. Free breakfast. Free water & fruit anytime .24hour security, that drives around in a golf cart. Steakhouse across the street. Another breakfast place on the property. Walmart and other stores 3 miles away..Reasonable rates. I would give them 10 stars if I could
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Very nice staff, the room, bed, heat were comfortable. No carpet in a pet friendly room was great. Parking was well lit. I was concerned about being in the back of the buildings just because it's a busy side street. A little further from where I was visiting but I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
google avatar

Jamal W.

Yelp
We were visiting Springfield for a dog competition. Spent a couple of nights in this Best Western. We didn't know this was a historic site. Route 66 began here. They even post that Elvis stayed here. The room was clean. The staff were great. I was impressed with the courteous staff when I called to get a price. I called a couple of other places but chose thus place because of the person answering the phone. I want a place with a pool. This place has an outdoor pool. The other place had the indoor pool but I chose this place in spite of not being able to swim. Upon arrival I was met bet 2 staff members that were just as awesome as the person on the phone.

Yelp
This was my second time staying at this hotel. I absolutely love this hotel. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit dated, but definitely worth a stay! The rooms are comfy and clean. There is a nice outdoor pool. This place is very family-friendly. I love the 50's decor in the rooms and around the hotel. They have two Fords, a coupe and a sedan, from the 50's on display at the front. Note: Elvis stayed at this very hotel!! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and family to stay at,.

Yelp
From the very start we had a great experience. At registration, Cayla and Dalton were warm, friendly and got us checked in very quickly. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Some might make a face at staying someplace older. But this property is well kept, nostalgic, and has a great feel. As cross country travelers, nice to be able to park right at our door, unload, and fall into bed. We stayed only one night, so didn't explore but saw lots of restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
We stayed one night on our marathon drive from Whittier, CA to Barrington, IL. The motel has great ambiance and I loved the 50s theme. Decor included old cars, old gas pumps, and turquoise colored rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Only downside is it's located on a very busy and noisy street. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
google avatar

Teresa L.

Yelp
Hard to give a 2 1/2or 3 star motel 5 stars but this place deserved it. Way cool retro motel is the oldest Best Western & listed in the historical registry. Arrived at midnight & had to use a real phone booth, sitting to the right of the lobby, to ring the night clerk. Exemplary service at check in. Quick, friendly & informative. Good hire owners, keep hiring that model of employee. No breakfast because of covid19. Entire property was very well kept. Lots of coffee, hot tea , towels & toiletries. Added bonus of a germ free tv remote. Got a good price online. Would definitely stay again. Blast from the past.

Shelby S.

Yelp
Fun and in expensive stay. The rooms were a little dated but renovation would hurt their charm.
google avatar

Niki W.

Yelp
Three trips to the front best because keys for two rooms didn't work. Then moved us to two new rooms. The smell is beyond compare. Musty puke is the only way to word it. Go outside in the morning to get something out of the car. You guessed it...locked out of my room. Go to the front desk AGAIN to get another key. Fire up my laptop to go over my presentation for a business meeting. The wi-fi doesn't work. Go to the office AGAIN. Get a new network name and password. It works fine. When getting ready for our meeting, my boss informs me that the shower in his room doesn't work. I'm never going to live down the fact that I chose this hotel for this business trip.
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
Don't let the 'historic' exterior of this motel deter you. We stopped here on the way to Texas from Michigan. The only thing left was the Family Suite which ended up great for my hubby, me, and our adult son. It had one big room with a fridge and king size bed, round table and desk. Big TV too. The second sleeping room had a dresser, TV and queen sized futon and upper bunk. The lobby is adorably themed for Route 66. The breakfast was good in the morning with typical hot and cold selections.
google avatar

Lizzy O.

Yelp
Quaint hotel with very friendly staff. Glad we stopped here for the night. The greenway behind the hotel was perfect for our pet. Our son loved the vintage phone booth and style of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!
google avatar

Kathryn B.

Yelp
This is an underrated gem of a hotel in Springfield. The office staff is amazing. The amenities are nice and clean. The rooms are clean and perfect for short stays!! You're in close proximity to downtown without the noise.
google avatar

Max M.

Yelp
So my father and I are on this roadtrip across Missouri and we want to do a little Route 66 on the way back to Kansas City (from St. Louis to Springfield) and we want to stay in a classic motel Driving down Rt. 44 we didn't see many appealing places, there was the classic neon but the places looked very dated and a little sketchy. Keep going and pass the main stretch of hotels until you see the modern looking Best Western sign. Don't let this fool you, this is still a great classic motel. It is very clean (the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in) and has all the classic touches. Theres chairs outside the rooms, the pool is in great shape and they even kept their vintage Best Western sign! I think it was built in the late 30s, keep this place alive! You won't regret it!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
There aren't too many depression-era motels that haven't badly declined. It seems that this one has survived thanks to Route 66 nostalgia and investment from the Best Western chain. Whatever the case, it's a very nice and renovated old motel. It's not hard to tell that the management takes pride in their work, and you get a good room, a nice mattress, free wireless, and a decent (free) continental breakfast. Plus you get the added benefit of being in town, away from the freeways.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
Whether you are jiving through Missouri on Route 66 or visiting your kid at MSU or a weary traveler, this cozy motor court nestled beside Glenstone and Historic Route 66 is the place for you. We have stayed here many times (10+) and have had only 1 small issue which was quickly remedied. My mom discovered this place for visits to see me in college and it continues to be our go-to spot for trips to Springfield. The rooms have recently been remodeled but the charm of this place remains. Do NOT let its motor court appearance deter but rather entice you to stay here. You will enjoy an affordable, quiet, clean stay with a hint of history mixed in! One negative is that the breakfast here has never been great - but for that head to Gailey's Breakfast Cafe downtown!

Ivy T.

Yelp
Fantastic motel. Beautifully restored. Friendly staff. Breakfast offered- was okay but I've had better- no big deal, thanks for trying. Felt totally safe even though initially I was apprehensive about the neighborhood. Minus one star for having a non-refundable pet fee. My dog is quieter and cleaner than pretty much any child under 12. If parents aren't getting charged extra for their loud and dirty kids, I should not be charged extra for my perfectly behaved dog. One complaint that could be an easy fix- some garbage cans outside of the rooms would be nice, - especially by the dog friendly rooms- to throw out the bagged dog poop.
google avatar

Adrea H.

Yelp
Fun, old school hotel. Lots of pictures on the way showing the progression of the hotel from the early 1900's (or at least 1920's +) through the current decades. Fun to see how the hotel has changed from a horse-tie rail location through the Model-T era, till now. Some um, "interesting" paintings of Elvis of the wall, who apparently stopped there at some point. Fun though that the structure of the hotel hasn't really changed from it's original foundation, so they still have the external facing rooms with parking spots in front of each one. And old gas tanks out in front of the lobby. Nice throw-back style. We were in the area for a concert, and it appeared several others were there for the same, so there were quite a few people moving around and everyone seemed friendly, though luckily not too loud. Beds were decent, not too hard or soft. Really nice that they had a mini-fridge and microwave in the hotel room (though the latter was super low voltage so don't expect to heat anything up very quickly). Modern amenities. I would stay here again.

Yelp
If you like history! Than this is a must to stay at, it's historic right on Route 66, the oldest motel still going strong, this place makes you feel like stepping back in time, I had to check this place out and since I didn't have lady, no $10 charges for a pet, the pet room is on the back half of the lot with a big yard to do business, I booked through app and for some reason I had put down the wrong month, When I got there I seen the error and luckily I just had to pay $10 more for the nite, the dude Dalton Campbell was at the front desk and he did some magic for me to stay the nite at their motel, this place has a swimming pool hot tub, like to grill! They have gas grill and a shelter plus a TV set to, (check out pix) the rooms were great, the tv channels , top movie shows too, this is the first bed I've slept in that didn't bother my back, across the street is grocery store and down the street is fast food places, if you follow Route 66, you will end up at the Springfield cardinals stadium, I missed the most important part! Breakfast, for under $90 motel, most place really don't give you a good breakfast but wait, this pace tops even your expensive places, breakfast served from 6 to 10 am, eggs, biscuits(not hard), waffles, rice plain milk, Orange juice or apple juice, only problem is seats not many , traffic didn't here any at nite,

Yelp
The area is right off a busy road. We had our dog and so I was thankful for a neighborhood that felt safe and there was a big area to walk my dog. The room didn't have carpet and I liked that. It was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was limited because of COVID issues. We were given biscuits and gravy in styrofoam containers and it was cold and disappointing. Coffee was pretty good. Price was reasonable, clerks were friendly and efficient, and we would stay again, I loved the Route 66 theme

Tommye B.

Yelp
Great place to stay with pups. Plenty of grassy areas to walk. Clean and comfortable room. Loved it.

Yelp
Outstanding. Just like stepping back into the 50s on Route 66. But with modern comfort. Clean and comfortable. Loving it. I highly recommend this place. Gorgeous appointments. Excellent staff. Wonderful breakfast.

Yelp
Came here to stop on our way to Branson MO. It was our first time on Route 66 so we wanted to stay here. We found this place and was really surprised to see old cars parked in the front for decoration. And neon lights in the office building for check in. (picture shown). We wanted to see a room first so a lady came out and showed us the room. The room was clean and spacious (picture shown). This was way past our expectations, since as far as best westerns go, they tend to sometimes be dumpy. The lady then said that this is the oldest best western still in operation. And she said that Elvis Presley stayed here!! They actually decorated the room he stayed in. And you could stay in the room. The room was beautiful but is a lot more expensive than an average room here. We didn't stay but she let us inside with her universal key and I took pictures of the room inside (picture shown). We stayed for only 1 night so we didn't go in the pool or anything but the beds could be better and the fact that this place looks like a roach motel kinda removes a star. I didn't sleep very good but the breakfast had a good selection of things to eat for the fact it was in an area the size of a bathroom. This place has huge historical importance and I can safely say that this was one of the better best westerns out there but I can only rate a best western so high. But I do recommend this place if your an Elvis fan, Because you can stay in his room and be right in the city. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I just loved this motel so much! I am NOT a traveler, let alone someone who travels by herself. But I randomly decided to take a 1-night trip to Springfield one weekend and according to Springfield's Yelp homepage, this was the coolest place to stay....and they were right!! I felt very safe staying by myself. I loved the old cars outside and breakfast in the morning was delicious! I had toast with peanut butter, a yogurt, hot coffee, apple juice, and a bottled water. They also had cinnamon rolls, a waffle maker, orange juice, apples and oranges, and many other options. The downfalls were that a found a few stray hairs on my bed before I lay down to sleep in it, and a dirty used cup under the bed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the breakfast, and the Elvis music playing during breakfast!
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Came to town for a concert nearby and we are glad we choose this property. Excellent hard working staff who take pride in their work. Spotless clean room. Comfy bed, decent linens... only complaint would be the noise from outside... but that is typical of these older motel style properties... no carpeted interior hallways to buffer the sounds. That alone would not stop me from returning, just bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Price can NOT be beat for the accommodation. Wi-if and tv worked without issue. Cold and thunderstorms so didn't use the outside amenities. Breakfast was typical... perfectly adequate. Highly recommend!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Authentic, historic Route 66 vintage motel. Excellent vintage touches with the two classic cars and neon lights throughout. Room was a good size, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast area was very small and awkward in the mornings as it got very busy and constantly felt in the way of other guests. Good amount of parking and spaces available in front of every room was handy for luggage.
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
I loved this place. It's not a 4 star hotel or probably even a 3 star but it has charm, friendly people and a good location and I value that over a star rating. I can't say anything about the breakfast selection bc we never made it. We stayed four days. It was clean, the maids left us alone to sleep unless we requested service, the beds were comfy and they leave extra blankets in case you need them. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had to ask for help one rainy cold day bc my car battery died. The front desk helped without hesitation or question. Even talked to my mechanic to find out where the battery was on my Cooper. I appreciated that greatly. I can't say everyone would adore this little place but we certainly did, but I do like to stay in places that have a little history.

Yelp
Great spot! Front desk was very friendly. Absolutely loved the layout of the building. Not your typical best western building. Room was clean, pet friendly, water was hot, and best of all it was quiet. My only complaint and reason it's a 4 and not 5 star review was once I laid in bed it smelled very... I want to say dusty, or musty along those lines and it was very overwhelming. Other than that, great stay!

Yelp
No complaints---and that's rare! Great bed, shower, and amenities. Perfect little 50's replica, but completely modernized. Nice big fridge , microwave, and plenty of plugins! Outlets have become a premium item, now that we have a cpap machine, hearing aid charger, 2 iPhones, an iPad, and an I watch. There were more than enough! Cute and well thought out. Good hot breakfast in the retro dinning area---stainless Steele. Leave it to Beaver was playing on the TV while we ate breakfast. Get your retro kicks on Route 66.

Yelp
We stayed for four nights last month, week before Thanksgiving. I Chose this location for pool and hot tub. Of course, these are seasonal, we found out upon check in. Website doesn't say this. The clerk was rude and said, "I don't know what you do in California, but our hot tub is drained and pool is not available." I said "this is false advertising". He said, "no it isn't." I said, I'd like my money back, and I'll go somewhere else. He said," you have to do it through booking.com". I did nothing, and went to my room. I had arrived at ten p.m. from the airport, having traveled all day. Second night, my keys wouldn't work, and clerk , with hair bun pony tail thing, was not available, the office was locked. A note was on door saying "I'll be back in 15 minutes, thank you for your patience". It was pouring hard , and lightning was occurring! I sat in my rent a car. Man bun finally came back after 30 minutes, and said he was fixing a smoke alarm. He took my keys, came back and gave me new ones. The showers/bath have two cold and hot dials. Hot and cold goes in and out while on same setting during shower. Unacceptable! They didn't change bed third night, after I had requested it to be changed. Disgusting! Free breakfast is that.horrible gravy...flour and water... Cleanliness outdoors...debris everywhere, not just leaves... $90 a night I paid.... Nostalgic, yes. Old cars, yes..I didn't know Elvis stayed there until after I'd left. So what? Elvis being there, I gave this one star. Terrible experience! Don't go there!

Yelp
We are on our last night of a Route 66 road trip and decided to check this place out. It's fantastic fun for our family. We got the king suite with bunks that accommodates are kids. Pool and hot tub is nice and the decor in our room is charming. Warm cookies at arrival, breakfast included in a vintage diner style lobby and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We stayed here for one night but do wish for more. The staff, Debbie & John, & everyone else were so friendly and accommodating even with the request of a 2nd room right on the spot. I love oldies but goodies style, music, and If you do too stay here!! The grounds and the rooms are done right. So very cute with fresh beachy like aquas throughout. (Some oldies pictures but the decor is modern and fresh) New everything in the rooms, aside from the fixtures on the shower but overall my step kids said this motel was by far the best one we stayed at all week and we had stayed at 2 other motels throughout our Ozark trip. The breakfast is awesome!!! And if you missed breakfast they have you covered, with a grab n' go brown bag healthy snack. I swear they've thought of everything. One of the oldest motels in town but you don't feel it during your stay. The pool is lovely and clean. Everyone was so nice to work with and we just wish we got to spend more time at this motel.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a one or two night stay. Cute pool, hot tub, clean room. The front desk manager saved me from a mistake I had made when booking, a mistake that most hotels would have financially taken advantage of, but he cheerfully helped me out. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
I think this was the best hotel my bf and I stayed in though out our entire cross country trip. Its such a reasonably priced hotel that I didn't expect much when we booked in advance. I was so wrong. This place is extraordinary! Cool retro cars, and neon lights out front. The bf and I must have taken a million cool pictures in front of those cars. The front desk folks bend over backwards to be as helpful and polite as one could possibly be. The rooms are not only clean, but impressively well done. Though this place does have the whole "Route 66" kitsch vibe, its done very classy and well done ,with the guests comfort kept in mind. Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven is listed on the National List of Historic Places. The walls on each room have historic photos dating back to the good ole days. They not only have a beautiful hot tub and pool out side, but they have Monroe and Elvis suites, each with a private hot tub. Free breakfast in the morning too. Not bad at all. We got to sit in their cool kitschy lobby, that also has a diner type area on the side, and listen to some old school tunes while looking out at the retro gas pumps and cars. This hotel is not just a place to stay, its a memorable experience. I recommend this place with all my heart. My bf and I had such a wonderful time here, with truly great memories.
