We stayed for 2 nights. Our host took great care of his guests! It's a small, family-run establishment where you meet up with other travellers around the table. Very friendly atmosphere. Beautiful room and very good bedding. Delicious meals! During the meal, our host shows you the wine she has chosen to go with the starter, then goes round the table asking who would like some. She does the same with the red wine for the main course, then goes round the table again and asks if you'd like any more. Be careful, because when you leave she asks you how many glasses of wine you've had, and at 250 crowns a glass of red wine (21 euros!!), the bill goes up quickly! More clarity about the cost at the start of the meal would be welcome 😉 Apart from that, it was an excellent stay!

My husband and I stayed here a year ago and we are still talking about our experience there. That’s why I’m writing this review just now; our stay at BesteBakken was almost an ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. The rooms were spacious, clean and have a romantic style. The food was even better; we had a breakfast as a 3-course meal and it was beyond anything we had as breakfast. Really worth a stay!

A better experience and a better host you could not ask for nor find. Lindis strikes the perfect balance between host and friend leaving the guests to get on with socialising. The food is excellent, the rooms delightful, and the setting Norwegian magical. We hope to return soon. Thank you Lindis for fitting us in at the last minute.

What a fantastic place! We stopped in here for a one night stay during our road trip and ended up having the best sleep ever. We booked one of the glass houses and got to hang out with the Alpacas. Would highly recommend getting a glass house! They are well equipped and super comfy, with tons of air flow through them. Don't miss this place if you are touring around Norway!

Great experience! BesteBakken is a place with a soul. The hostess provides an excellent welcome and shares part of the spirit of the place, she is a wonderful cook for dishes very often prepared from her garden. The surroundings and the view on the fjord are great. Hiking and cycling allow to discover the surroundings, the12th century wooden church is worth a visit.

We had a wonderful experience at BesteBakken. The hostess is very nice, served wonderful food. We home turned hotel is a bit older but well kept. We upgraded one of our rooms to a glass module rooms. There were a few friendly alpacas in the yard, and with a lovely view it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful location, great view. Lindis was a great hostess and an even better cook! Very welcoming, family atmosphere! The rooms are great, clean and the beds very comfortable! Make sure you pet the alpacas and don’t hesitate to book this hotel for your next trip in Sognesfjord.
