Bethells Cafe

Great little eatery as close to the beach as you can get. High quality food and pretty extensive menu that caters to most. We had kumera fries and the lamb burger. Nothing super fancy but food done right. Yum.

Hands down the best beach café ever! 🌊☕🍔 I had the vege burger with fries and a coffee – absolutely awesome. The burger was packed with flavor, the fries perfectly crispy, and the coffee hit the spot. The vibe here is just superb – relaxed, welcoming, and the perfect beachside atmosphere. If you’re anywhere near Bethells Beach, you have to stop by. This place is a gem – great food, great coffee, and the best vibes. Can’t wait to come back!

Took a beach trip out here to the beach and stopped by this place. Food was amazing and I would highly recommend the lamb burger! They do have veggie options and smoothies! The hot chips(fries) were crispy and well seasoned and good portion! Although if I could recommend anything for hospitality related things it would be to have outdoor umbrellas underneath the seating areas, New Zealand weather is a bit unpredictable especially in June so please bundle up! 🤙🏽

Vibes off the chart, 15 minutes here and my stress melted away. Lowfi bossa nova beats, quiet chats of happy regulars, service with a smile and the fresh beach air means I will be coming back again and again

This cafe is excellent. They have the yummiest food on offer and it’s such a blessing to have something of this calibre so far out of the city, right next to the beach!! The staff are absolutely lovely, the music they play is great and everybody leaves with a smile on their face. Definitely worth the trip out to the beach!!

Bethells cafe is tucked away near the entrance to the beach ⛱️ plenty of parking including an overflow carpark 😎 the Cafe is a bright and cheerful caravan with tables and chairs and park bench seats surrounding a gorgeous grassy knoll. Framed with flax bushes and towering toi toi it is the perfect escape after a dip in the sea 🌊 or a long walk along the shoreline to the cove ☀️ relax under the shade of nearby trees with a delicious roasted coffee ☕️ or banana 🍌berry smoothie 🥤 try a fresh bagel, a slice of something sweet 🍰 an ice cream cone 🍦 or their famous mouth watering 'West Coast' burger 🍔 ... with the delightful sound of groovy tunes for ambience this place is a Summery oasis 👌 looking for good vibes in a beautiful relaxing setting, this is the spot 😌 a hidden gem out West 💎

Despite the rain, my partner and I decided to pop by to Bethells Beach for a stroll. We passed by this place on the way and made a note to stop by after the walk. Glad we did because this place was miles better than what we were expecting. We opted for the hot dog, lamb burger and hot chip. All of it was fantastic. You can tell when a place puts love and passion into their food and this was one of those places. The fries were super crisp and fresh and the lamb burger was awesome, especially paired with the beetroot relish. If you're thinking of stopping by for a bite when you're around Bethells, do it.
