Better Buzz Coffee La Mesa

First time here, and Barrista Rachel is the Bees Knees! 🐝 super helpful in picking out something we would like 👍 and her recommendations were great. We had the Snickerdoodle and the Horchata latte. She also recommended the banana black berry muffin & the strawberry cheese Danish both were absolutely delicious 😋 nice place to hang out in La Mesa just a bit loud inside

This my first time trying food on Beeter Buzz Coffe in La Mesa. Usually I only buy coffee when I do shopping in Fashion Valley, whit that said. OMG, this was a BIG BIG DISAPPOINTMENT for me. I ordered 3 items, one horchata iced coffee, one turkey croissant in ciabatta bread and a pistachio croissant. The horchata was so so, the pistachio croissant was tasty, but the turkey sandwich was terribly cheaply made, only one, literally one slice of turkey, non existent brie cheese, only mayonnaise in just one side, can you imagine pay the price ($9.45) for only one slice of turkey? You definitely can buy much more in other place for that price. Definitely not worth to try it's food on this location. Not recommended at all unless they improve quantity or price.

I’m not sure if you are the district manager in Encinitas but you have a great crew in Encinitas and this morning since I had a patient in La Mesa for a post surgery visitation, I had to visit another patient near this location, I had to give it another try because I love the feta avocado toast and I’ve been actually having it daily but I more closer to the Encinitas location. But this morning I did visit the La Mesa again and I dreading it but the young lady who was standing by the sign and taking orders was pleasant, repeated my order and she ask if I would like the eggs on the side or on the toast, it’s just she was so pleasant that it made it up for last week and when I went to the window the young lady that was there, stated it will only be a few minutes we preparing the toast. It was completely and different dynamic or it’s seems like was a new crew. But that was a Plus “A” service, they reminded me of the Encinitas store very friendly. That’s I’m going change the stars to 3 at least since those two people, I went to the drive through around 7 30 am, whoever was on duty deserves praise. And thank you for your reply as well Today is my first time going to this place, I was excited cause my coworkers were buzzing about this place, so I ordered cappuccino, Island Açaí bowl, feta avocado toast and asked them to add egg. So driving to rancho bernardo I was about to take a bite and there was no egg, now mind you eggs they charge for one egg for arm and a leg, so I drive back to the store and I asked the drive thru to please correct the order and the lady told me: I can just hand you the boiled egg and just add it your self . I looked at her and said please I drove to rancho Bernardo knowingly it’s about 40 minute drive each way and in traffic and she wanted me to give me an egg and just go away no, I had them prepare a fresh new toast and add the egg on it, it’s not my fault they got the order wrong and I was pleasant with them with no attitude and then they said please go park at the front and wait for your food because we have to serve others which is ok and asked how long would it take and they said 1 minute and of course I knew it wasn’t going to take a minute. Took like 5 to 7 minutes. Anyways my first time experience was not good but this location I will not go back too. But I will try other locations. But the food was good the only thing positive about this

Better Buzz La Mesa is one of my favorite spots. The vibe is always so friendly and welcoming and the staff is genuinely kind and helpful. The coffee is amazing with the Best Drink Ever living up to its name and the food is always fresh and tasty. It is the perfect place to hang out, get some work done, or just relax. I always leave in a better mood than when I came in and I highly recommend it.

I go to Better Buzz a lot and have been to several different locations—including this one in La Mesa. They never miss! The service was fast, and the customer service was great. The person who took my order was super friendly, and the team at the window was polite, smiling, and kept the good energy going. I ordered a Chai Buzz with oat milk, caramel drizzle, chocolate-covered espresso beans, and a vanilla soft top—it was made to perfection and absolutely hit the spot. There was no line when I arrived (thankfully, since I know how busy it can get), but by the time I was leaving, the line was already wrapping around the store. Always a solid experience—I'll definitely be back.

The team at La Mesa was super sweet and priorities customer experience and above all else. They were very friendly and quick with service. I ordered an iced matcha latte and it was very refreshing! Highly recommend. Plus they have a drive through and easy parking!

The coffee is absolutely amazing. I went for the first time today and got the iced hazelnut divinity. It was so good! It is pretty pricey, so this won't be my go-to coffee shop, but it is excellent for when I want to treat myself. The employees were all very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very cute but it feels a bit cramped. Will definitely be coming again! Edit: I went today to get the iced peppermint white mocha. It was absolutely delicious but most of the candy canes sank to the bottom and wouldn't mix in. I don't mind this, I think it creates a nice visual, but it is something to keep in mind.

Love going to La Mesa Better Buzz! My drinks are always perfect and the team makes my day each visit. Rachel is such a bright light in the mornings! Highly recommend making this your go to coffee spot!

I recommend going to the La Mesa Better Buzz location. In the morning, when I'm in a hurry the drive-by service line is quick and reliable. Some afternoons I can just relax inside. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Renee Delgado

This is my to go Better Buzz area. Mainly because of Bryan, he's the goat. Just know if he's making your drink, it's going to hit.

Drove through with mom for a coffee and a Matcha green tea. They have a good variety of coffees and teas. Huge chocolate chip cookies. A bit pricey but worth it! I love these smaller coffee shops, real ingredients without all the chemicals like Starbucks. And it's a drive -thru. Plus plus!

Solid coffee option considering it's a large chain. I ordered ahead and got the "best drink ever" at 1/2 sweet. The drink was ready at the pickup time. The sweetness level was perfect for me since I don't like when drinks are too sweet. It's essentially an iced Americano with vanilla flavored creamer. A decent sized parking lot although it's on a corner of a busy street so during rush hour and long drive through line the lot can still feel pretty tight. Inside is nice and open. Wasn't busy when I went in on a Monday around 8 as it looks like most people were doing to go.

Better buzz is probably my favorite consistent coffee shop in SD and it's about time they got one in La Mesa. I've been several times for the coffee (best drink ever, the churro drink, and snickerdoodle). I love that the coffee flavor is smooth and well rounded with enough caffeine and depth that the flavoring of the drink doesn't overwhelm the coffee. The only downside to this place is location. The drive through is always backed up onto the street so it's a nightmare trying to get in and out of parking lot and parking spots. If you plan to grab your cup of coffee here make sure you allot time for the traffic and wait time of getting in/out.

I love to visit this Better Buzz whenever I'm in the area. Very nice, clean and organized place! The drinks are spot on as usual. The service is always fast, friendly and efficient! Everything I've ever had here has been great but lately I've been enjoying the "The Best Drink Ever". Great job team!

*Ordered through Door Dash* The Horchata Latte was very sweet, thin horchata (not creamy), and the coffee flavor was minimal. I wouldn't order it again as it was reminiscent of a home goods candle. The Matcha with Orange Blossom was heavy on the orange blossom. The matcha wasn't there in flavor and that's coming from a non matcha lover. We got it with coconut milk, very light. I wouldn't order this again, but if possible I'd get the orange blossom in a latte because it was good! I'm not a Better Buzz fan because their coffee tends to be very sweet, I mentioned this to my brother and told him if he orders again he should get 1/4 or 1/8 sweetness! Some individuals really like their coffee and would recommend this drink: Best Drink Ever or Hazelnut Divinity, I believe. Give it a go and see if you like what they offer! It's just a no for me.

I ordered online here about 5 minutes away and by the time I got to the store it was already ready to go! Amazing friendly service from the staff inside too, in spite of them being very busy. The coffee hit the spot as always.

This better buzz location is great! The staff is friendly and the drinks are made in a timely manner. I love the interior and patio, it's a great spot to work or relax with a drink. Parking can get tricky if the drive through line is long so you may need to park on the street if that's the case. Today I ordered their season coconut matcha latte. It was good but leans more towards the sweet side. I'd recommend getting it slightly less sweet or half sweet. It has a strong coconut flavor which overpowers the matcha. If you are looking for a fun summer drink this would definitely hit the spot. If you are looking for a matcha forward drink, you may be disappointed when you taste little to no matcha. I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back to try other seasonal drinks!

This place can be hit or miss with the flavor of the coffee but the people working have always been friendly. They're pretty quick too, given how long the line can get on busy days. My most recent fav is a caramel vanilla iced latte with their coconut cold foam. It's the perfect amount of sweetness for me. The coconut cold foam is the real star of the show, i'm sad it seems like it's a seasonal item. So I'll be sticking with that as my regular as long as I can!

Better Buzz is my legit my favorite coffee restaurant. Hands down. 4 stars for that alone! I ordered the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew yesterday and a Blueberry muffin. The gentleman who took my order had great service. He offered suggestions and asked if I wanted my muffin warmed, I said yes please. I absolutely love warm muffins. When I got to the drive through window, I felt rushed out the way. I asked for a straw and she gave it to me and was like, "ok have a good day." Plus, my muffin wasn't warmed so I had to wait until I got home to warm it up which was disappointing. A helpful tip for those who work at the drive through window is to repeat the order (including specifications) back to the customer to ensure that it is correct. Other than that, it was decent.

You know... people around me have been dogging on better buzz. I personally enjoy it! I have no idea how the service is here but every time i order it's consistently amazing

The Iced SF Vanilla Latte from Better Buzz is a must-try-- they use Sugar Free Monin brand syrups which are the best especially in cold form! It's incredibly smooth, perfectly creamy, and just the right balance of espresso and flavor without being overly sweet. If you're looking for a guilt-free, refreshing pick-me-up, this is it.

Finally was able to try this coffee and it has lots of flavor! I came here twice while on my trip to SoCal and the Hazelnut Divinity. The first time my boyfriend got Horchata Iced Latte and he does not recommend it. He said it had a weird after taste, but then when he tried the Hazelnut Divinity the second time we went, he really liked it. Service was quick and food was good as well! Ham and Cheese Croissant and Bacon Ciabatta we recommend!

Came here to try this coffee for the first time and it's so good!! Very nice and smooth!!. The place was so busy, but it's so loud in there. I hate having to raise my voice just so someone can hear me right next to me at the table. The cashier was nice but didn't hear when I said two drinks and I only got one. That when I got my drinks, I had to wait a bit longer for that.

This has become my favorite place to grab a cup of coffee on the weekends, and while I know that it's far from a hidden gem as Better Buzz has become a big name in SD, it's still a great product. This particular location is cozy, not overcrowded (but the drive-thru can be) and is always staffed with some friendly folks. Once again, nothing shocking with any of those as this is a BB... once again. Skip the line of cars and step inside, you'll enjoy it, I promise!

I came here to study, but I ended up staying on their outdoor patio until my laptop died (there are only outlets available inside). It felt like an oven inside the building! I was sweating while waiting for my order. The staff was busy and didn't call out names, so I didn't realize my order was ready on the shelf for a while. Despite that, the service was friendly and the coffee was average. I also ordered a Caprese sandwich, which was a decent size!

Again this location has failed me ! I tried giving it another chance after the bad experience I had with them during my pregnancy and today just makes me make my mind up about never going back . Me and my boyfriend were both craving pumpkin spice drinks so decided to stop by and give this a try .NEVER again !! I would not recommend this place to anyone . Both our hot and cold drinks not one bit of the taste of pumpkin spice flavor came thru. The blended drink tasted like vanilla cream and my hot drink tasted like a regular black coffee with creamer . I have never been so disappointed with a PSL. ALSO we both got breakfast and we regretted it as much as we did with the drinks . The elote avocado toast was gross and soggy had half an avocado whole on part of toast not even mashed no effort into it . And my croissant as seen in video was no where near soft and flakey even if toasted it was extremely crunchy and hard ,hated it ! Our coffees I never finished mine and my boyfriend ended up tossing his . For a grand total of $40 with a terrible experience!

Way better than Starbucks in my opinion. The foam doesn't leave a coated feeling in your mouth. Service fast and friendly. Been to this location a couple times now. Walking distance from my work!!! Love it!!

This is the first time at this location. Wanted to get my usual Chai with coconut milk. We entered the wrong way and the drive thru line was ridiculously long so we parked and I went inside. A beautiful location, but busy! I also decided to get a bite to eat. I chose the Feta Avocado (cherry tomatoes on the side) crumbled feta, butter on thick-cut multigrain. It was about $10 This was actually one of the first times I ordered food from any Better buzz location. While I was waiting, I saw all the different options other people had ordered and saw the baristas in action to fulfill all the orders. I don't usually see that as we order drive thru. I had a great conversation with barista Brittany as she brought out my order. She was very friendly and kind. My Avo toast was yummy. A little pricey but I enjoyed every bite. lol My drink was delicious as usual. Great experience here. Thank you!

Came to Better Buzz for an evening Açaí bowl and ended up getting a yummy pistachio croissant as well. Great team, friendly staff (yes, we mean you Brian) and that down home coffee shop vibe you just need to make your day complete!

Super cute place! I was visiting the area and it looked popular. We mistakenly caught the drive-through line so we parked and ordered through the door. It was super hot in the morning and they didn't have much shade, but the service was really nice. My order : Iced Matcha with oat milk - it was really good nothing too special, I am very picky with my Matcha, and this was made well and not powdery at all. I also got to try the best drink ever, it was pretty good. I understand for some people it could be too sweet, but it was perfect for me. Their coffee is not on the strong side if you prefer that go somewhere else.

Chai pumpkin buzz 10/10 with super fast service. The drink was ready for pickup within 5 minutes of ordering and was on point for taste and consistency.

I caught a good buzz today. The bread on my toast was Texas sized indeed. Had to sprinkle bacon on the avocado toast as recommend and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Coffee. Say no more. Went mainstream with the iced vanilla latte with sub oat milk... give it a try. I went 5 because I dare you to come close to the quality, the energy in the room and the experience had. Catch a buzz fam.

Good drinks, good vibe, and excellent customer service. I've been in this better buzz a couple of times. One time I went and my coffee taste kinda off. So they make me a different coffee and that coffee taste very good. My doggo enjoys her pup cup here also. The energy drinks is quite addicting! We love the drinks.

Came here after a spin class at NXPT which is a gym not too far away...actually did spin and then walked here. Used the Better Buzz app to order the coffee and walked into the store to grab it! Location has a nice drive thru and lots of parking. It was fairly early in the morning so no crowd. Got my usual Best Derick Ever and it was perfect as usual! Staff was nice but really quiet lol maybe it was too early for good mornings and welcomes?!?

I keep trying because everything LOOKS good and it's so close to home, but so far only meh or negative experiences. I've tried BB maybe 3-4 times and the drinks are okay and pastries are okay. Everything's okay. But today they sent my wife the weakest açaí bowl I've ever seen -- like just açaí smoothie and some hemp and a few berries, leaving out the extra almond butter and gluten free granola we paid for. My wife was so cute adding a little note about how it's their birthday (I think hoping their extra scoop of almond butter would be especially generous lol) and obviously it would've been fine if they had just given the normal extra amount but it feels like they were ESPECIALLY skimpy? I'm sure they're just super busy and made a mistake but what a bummer on their birthday. I DoorDashed an entirely separate grocery order for granola and almond butter because obviously I don't want their birthday breakfast to be sad! So a very expensive morning for sure. Anyway I was good to deal with the okay food and drinks for convenience but this experience really put me off.

Great study spot, classic better buzz drinks! Got the pumpkin chai latte before it's too late! Sweet as expected, but not too overbearingly sweet. There are a good amount of tables inside and a patio area outside with more seats. There is street parking near the drive thru, it wasn't too busy to find a spot on a Tuesday afternoon to evening. The staff is always kind and quick with orders. WiFi is available and a one stall bathroom, no code. The music is on the louder side, but they're playing good music that's not difficult to study with, in my opinion!!

Absolutely great Coffee. Less sugary and actually tastes like coffee. Why it depends on what you order but I definitely think it does it's job. BEING coffee. We had great service as well :)

So so happy to finally have a better buzz closer to home! My favorite coffee chain and my go to drink is the honey latte or mint infused iced coffee with almond milk I tried the new chili crisp wrap and it was tooo good, perfectly seasoned and all the flavors just worked well together, I had pre ordered and my drink was ready when I arrived The inside is super aesthetic with searing inside as well as outside on a porch, love visiting this location!

Love that I can use my reusable cup for my coffee! The hazelnut divinity is my favorite coffee, light ice and less sweet. Super cute spot in La Mesa and glad to see them here. Service is quick and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

So happy Better Buzz has finally come to the La Mesa area! :) The whole store is just beautiful inside and out! The staff is super friendly as well. You can never go wrong with the Best Drink Ever. Next time I honestly need to try the rest of the menu and they have fresh pasties to chose from also. A really cute spot to hang out and get some work done also if needed.

Coffee!! Give me all the caffeine! Short disclaimer, have gone through drive thru more times than I'd like, will wait thru the endless line if it means I don't have to step out during the "cold" mornings. Their BEST DRINK EVER and CINNAMON CREAM COLD BREW have my heart. Order is always right, nice staff and drinks stay consistent (much appreciated)! Their cold foam will surely spruce up any of their coffee drinks!

Better Buzz never disappoints! This new location definitely felt a little new with some hiccups but they never disappoint. The space is such a beautiful space and it's not super crowded like the other locations. This is going to be my go-to spot FOR SURE!

Second delivery, Second and last terrible experience. First Coconut Best Drink Ever had absolutely NO coconut!!! Just a plain coffee grrrrr!!! Today I really don't know what to think, the driver drink my coffee?? He said they spilled at the store! $30 dollars paid for 2 coffees and one is trash!!!

Yep, another Better Buzz has opened in San Diego. This location is the closest to my hood, which is nice. I had the ham and cheese croissant and what they call the best coffee ever" iced. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious, and they heated up just right, too. Just enough so all the cheese was perfectly melted. The croissant was buttery and flaky. The iced coffee was good but a little too sweet for my taste to drink often. I am a cortado lover, but they have yet to place that on the menu. Someday, I hope. Service was very upbeat and friendly. They do get kinda loud inside, so take advantage of the outside seating if you like more of a quieter ambiance like myself.

SOO HAAAAPPYYYYY that Better Buzz finally opened a location in my hooood !! The coffee here is sooo good and I'm not being biased because I used to work at the old fashion valley cart back in high school lol-- it really is one of the best coffee shops in San Diego !! I finally got around to stopping by today and it's been about a month since it first opened . The drive thru lines are still crazyyyy and parking is horrendous at the moment . Im sure it'll die down once the hype of a new coffee shop is over . I parked across the street in the neighborhood and walked on over . The Better Buzz sign is bright, glistening, and literally calls out to you to purchase coffee ! I love the outdoor patio area and the inside is super cozy . It has about 6 tables or so . I got there around 930am and there were about 4 people in line ahead of me and I waited about 10 minutes to get to the cashier . Once I ordered, I waited another 10-15 minutes to get my food and drinks . I didn't know there was an app you can place a mobile order through with a designated pick-up area--- will be doing this in the future . Here's what I ordered-- BEST DRINK EVER is literally the best drink ever . It's strong, creamy, semi sweet vanilla flavored, and most of all.. delicious . I love getting this drink iced even though its 50 degrees cold outside . Always hits the spot . BETTER BREAKFAST SANDWICH was really tasty ! Bacon was thick cut, egg was cooked well (wish yolk was still runny, but hey-- beggars can't be choosers haha), pretzel bun was fluffy on the inside with a nice crisp exterior pretzel bite, and arugula gave it a nice spice . Havarti is one of my all time fav cheeses and the garlic aioli gave it a nice refreshing zing . Great sandwich, but definitely a little pricey and is a splurge . My son loved his CHEESE DANISH . It's served at room temp and at first bite was just okay . We took it home and threw it in the Airfryer and it actually was pretty good warmed up . Flakey, buttery, and the cheese middle was tasty . Tip-- You can order the drinks less sweet if you want . I haven't had an Acai bowl here, but they are one of my favs to get on a hot day . Customer service was good; my cashier thanked me for waiting and she was nice . I will for sure be back in the future again when I need my BDE cravings satisfied !

The service was excellent by Bryan and Rachel! They helped me with picking out food for my grumpy teenager and my order was made so fast that I couldn't believe it!!! I the ambiance was serene and the restaurant is very clean! will definitely be back!

Tried their matcha latte, horchata latte, better breakfast sandwich, and chili crunch breakfast wrap. The matcha was okay and could've used more matcha. It was pretty sweet. My bf's horchata latte was really good! We loved the breakfast sandwich and wrap but the wrap could've used more chili crunch. Also tried their paradise bar which was super good if you have a sweet tooth. And it was gluten free!
