Better On A Bagel

The bagels here are amazing!! I moved away from LI, and every time I come home, my sweet mother drives 30 minutes away (though there are several bagel places around the corner) to get me these bagels. We immediately put them in ziplock bags to last longer and easily get five days of deliciousness out of them. My hubby loves their maple walnut something with raisins (?) cream cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel, and I love their veggie cream cheese on just about every other bagel. The whole family loves their chicken salad, too! …but the bagels—go for the bagels!

Worst ever. Ordered 2 sandwiches, BEC on bagel (fine),SEC with bacon on toasted roll. $16.87 for 2 sandwiches but they said the price was high because I ordered sausage as an extra. CHECK THE PICTURE of what I got when I opened it at home !!!!!!!!!! So $16+ for 2 BEC. NEVER AGAIN

This is my favorite bagel spot. Their bagels are fresh and delicious and just doughy enough. They have a great selection and a varied menu if you are looking for something other than bagels. There is always a line, so be prepared to wait…they’re worth the wait in my opinion. Service is consistently good. Their coffee is not bad either.

Great bagels and wonderful service. The line is out the door on the weekends so a great indicator of quality of product and service. Super friendly. The server asked me if the order included bagels for kids because she would cut into 4’s for me. Love the proactive response 🥯❤️☕️

I used to love coming here. Their food is still good but after moving back to the local area I have stopped in twice and both times my order was either missing something or never made at all. Same individual that made the mistake both times. They’re friendly but maybe need to be re-trained.

Just went in for breakfast. There was as pretty much a line to the door, they got everyone in and out pretty quick with good customer service. I really wanted to compliment the bagels. They are so big and fluffy and you can most certainly tell they are fresh.

We waited 15 minutes for two bagels with cream cheese the place was empty, The workers simply forgot. Only to get home and see that they gave the wrong bagel. I'm allergic to sesame seeds also, I asked for a garlic bagel. I could've been killed.

I went on 01/24/24- about 10:30am Atmosphere is mids, just another LI bagel shop running out of a strip mall The service was also not amazing, I didn’t get any napkins, and BEC was made wrong My toasted everything bagel was toasted to a CRISP, the bottom half the bagel was completely inedible and if I thought the replacement was gonna be any better I would’ve driven back to get a new one. The bacon was also over cooked with the entire BEC being sloppy Won’t go here again and I’ll be recommending my friends in the area avoid this place

I'm not there often- but when I go it's always amazing food and a very clean store. The sunflower bagels are my favorite with the veggie cream cheese

Put my order in and waited 30 minutes for them to lose my order. I understand these places get busy, but there was only 2 other people there when I got there.

Always fresh and soft bagels! Reasonable pricing. Friendly staff that's always on the move to get your order and keeps the line moving. Great egg sandwiches too! The only bagel shop I'll go to

Line moves quick, bagels are good but incredibly soft. Egg sandwiches are pricey ($8) but better than the local competition.

The staff was nice but this is my go to bagel shop and im very disappointed in the amount of bacon i was given. Its now under new management so maybe thats why they got cheap with the portion size.

Great bagels, delicious egg sandwiches and breakfast choices. Nice selection for deli lunches and salads as well. Excellent bagels, crispy and chewy at the same time. Excellent assortment of salad & sandwiches. Really love the staff here. Consider myself to be super picky about bagels, and these guys win hands down. Just check the parking lot of any bagel place at 7:30 -8:00 am, and you'll see where the locals go! This place is it! So... good This is what you think of when you want a Long Island bagel store experience, specially when you have relatives visiting from different states! 10/10 highly recommend. Great bagels, great prices and very nice employees. Excellent egg sandwiches, nice soft fluffy bagels. Friendly staff, prompt service. My new breakfast spot.

Turkey Egg & Chee on a French Toast Bagel, lightly toasted, SPHS - my go to and they buried it. Currently eating my perfect bagel outside my job site, debating if I even wanna work today or just go get another bagel. Place has a good amount of seating for regular size deli, the smell when you walk in makes you wanna stay. I asked for them to be lite on the hot sauce, and they were, my mouth and buds are having a blast, not on fire, just a bunch different flavor profiles going crazy. The young woman behind the counter was great, called me Franklin instead of Franco but I'll take that all day for a Sammy of this credibility. They even got those crazy colorful bagels for you looking to jam up your belly eating a plain bagel! The line always moves quickly. The staff is always friendly even when they are super busy. Their bagels are by far the best on the island. All round good vibes!

The only negative is that they rarely allow you to call ahead an order. Which I understand, they are normally swamped. Their bagels are amazing, and the only ones that I have found that don't get overly stale the following day. Everything is fresh, so you really can't go wrong. I've had the Vincenzo, and always get a BEC on a bagel. Highly recommend!

I wish this place was closer to my home. Great bagels, great service and amazing prices. I knew my local bagel place was robbing us (they feel like they can since there's no others local) Really enjoyed it. Absolutely would takeout from here again and I will.

This place has great bagels and sandwiches but always very busy. Most of the people that work there are great unfortunately today a women that helped my fiancé and I was so rude and really made me rethink about ordering here.

Best bagel I've ever had and I've had a lot, of course. I've gotten people all over the country hooked on these bagels when they come into town. They are chewy and delicious. They are never hard. Ever. They have great flavors for your choice of cream cheese or eggs. A must do when on the island.

Today I went to Better On A Bagel at 275 NY-25A #21, Miller Place, NY 11764 Despite their Bagels being delicious I am giving them a one-star review because I find them to be unsanitary. Not one employee was wearing a mask, I could get past that but I couldn't get past the fact that they never changed their gloves, they used the same gloves to take money from customers and credit cards from customers and touched the food with the same gloves. The lady that took care of me her blue gloves were yellow from wearing it all day. When I spoke to the manager about it he said the CDC said he doesn't have to change his gloves. I told him I won't be coming back and he told me I don't have to. I've been to other bagel stores where they would wear clean gloves to make the food and then take them off to take the money from the customer and then put cleaning gloves on again.

Today we went to pick up bagels. The one star is only because the bagels are delicious. My issue is the employees were not wearing facemasks, they had gloves on, but they don't change them between customers after handling cash, credit or debit cards, pens to write thing down. This is how you spread germs. As per the CDC guidelines, gloves need to be changed anytime they are soiled. Handling anything instead of food is considered getting them soiled. It's just common sense, which requires you to use your brains to protect your customers. CDC recommends wearing a mask, that covers the nose and mouth and fits snugly against the sides of the face, as a measure to contain the wearer's respiratory droplets and help protect their co-workers and members of the general public. As per the guy who stated that you follow the CDC guidelines you do not. Please be respectful to the public. We will not be returning until you make it more safe for everyone.

Just got a egg everything bagel with scrambled egg & bacon, came at around 130 & usually when I get a bagel at that time from any other bagel store it's not fresh but this bagel is so soft almost as if they just made it! Definitely coming back just because of that.

Every bagel is good, but not every bagel is GREAT. This is a superstar bagel, clearly fresh and just melts in your mouth. It is the perfect size and gives a generous amount of cream cheese without being ridiculous - I neither lacked any on a single bite nor did I have to smear any off. The seasoning was JUST right on the egg everything bagel. There are a few tables inside, easy strip mall parking, and service with a smile. PS they have almond milk for coffee.

I have to say Yelp did not let me down on this place based on their reviews. Probably the best bacon, egg and cheese sandwich I have ever had in Long Island. This place has it all friendly , clean , efficient and fresh food. Bacon was awesome. And you all know how I fee about bacon. The only negative about this place was that it's so far away from me lol. I wish they would move to Medford and replace the weak bagel places we currently have here.

I'm in here regularly. The service is very good and, in my experience, they do not make mistakes. BTW Zach is a mensch. The food is fresh and consistent. If you happen to see chocolate chip cookies on the counter, still on a baking sheet and cooling off, grab one while they are hot!

Went into Better on a Bagel after my friends told me it was the "best bagel on long island." I was doubtful & I was wrong. The bagels are awesome, the prices are good, the place is clean, the staff is friendly & helpful. Will go back whenever I am in town. Highly recommend. PS If you value cream cheese, go here.

Changed hands. Bagels taste much different. New owner yelled at me for having the front door open when I was simply holding the door for his customers to leave. Very different atmosphere. Miss the old owners

This place is Great before and during these unfortunate times of Pandemic. I drive 4 towns over just to get their bagels !! I grew up with my Brooklyn family who owned Bagels shops in the old days and I know what dough is good and baked or pressed . I mean there are some other great spots , but for a local bagel place I give them 5 stars . Never skimpy on my Egg sandwiches and service is great .

My mom brought these bagels to My salon today and all day my clients were saying how delicious they were! So fresh and still warm The flavored cream cheeses were awesome! I had one for lunch and went back for another! I actually had a few clients ask where they came from! Highly recommend!

This is my favorite bagel place by far. These are a soft bagel. Perfect for egg sandwiches. You're not gonna break your tooth on them like other places. They load them up with cream cheese or butter. They aren't jipping you in an attempt to save three pennies like all the other places. They give generous portions of everything. Their bacon is always cooked perfectly. The service is polite, and fast. You're in and out. That's how a bagel shop should be. They know how to handle a lot of business because they get a lot of business. Their coffee is strong as well. That's always a plus. Too bad I can only give 5 stars. They deserve more.

My mother and I made an appointment to discuss catering a party with the owner - she had called that morning and spoken to someone on the phone who said they do catering and would be happy to help us. As soon as we walked in the staff was very rude and dismissive to my mother in regards to catering/the appointment we had made with the owner. Upon speaking to the owner, he said he doesn't do catering (their website is not up to date with this information), he wouldn't be able to profit from a catering event, and like the staff was extremely dismissive. Overall I'd say there's poor communication within the staff and I was honestly quite alarmed with how rude they were to my elderly mother - definitely don't recommend this place if you value being treated with respect.

I would give them more stars but I order a bagel with only avocado on it THATS IT and I had to cut this amount of BLACK avocado off of my bagel which is basically all of it, at this point it's not even appetizing or edible to me it's crazy how someone could put a completely spoiled avocado on a bagel and sell it to a customer. If you order avocado on your bagel from here open it before you eat it because they clearly don't care.

Quality bagel, however a poor excuse of an everything bagel. Very lightly seeded, which was disappointing.

When you pick up a phone on a saturday and tell people you cant take phone orders... then question the caller about why they cant stand in line and wait like everyone else...keep your sh**y food and your sh**y attitudes

I come in here all the time I love my bagels and egg sandwiches but today when I came in the girl working with pink and blonde hair behind the counter was so nasty to every single customer she was talking to and was giving an attitude and was rolling her eyes not even saying anything to anyone throwing the food on the counter even though she messed up the order and was just giving a bigger attitude after, this makes me not wanna come here ever again maybe you guys should hire nicer workers

If your looking for a deliciously soft bagel this is the place. I used to come here with my grandfather everyday before work it was our favorite bagel places to go. Highly recommend.

Good bagel, horrendous service. I came in at 2:45pm unknowingly 15 minutes before closing. Sat down to eat, and I noticed that they were starting to put stuff away, so I asked what time they closed. One of the employees just held up three fingers...I profusely apologized when I looked at my cell and it was 2:55pm. I told them "sorry I didn't realize I'll be out of your hair as soon as possible." He responded "uh yeah" with an attitude. As I was packing up someone started to spray the perimeters of the entire shop which I'm assuming is related to pest control, or some kind of chemical. Bear in mind that I'm seven months pregnant with a toddler. Despite the attitude I received I made a point to wish them a good evening as I left. The three employees stared at me blankly and didn't respond. I should have been more conscious about knowing their closing time, but there are a plethora of better ways to not only tell but treat a customer.

This is truly a 5 star bagel place. Their staff has come and gone but the proprietor, Jay, has always keep the operation running smoothly, every now and then a new guy will give me a standard everything bagel when I had ordered an egg everything, but I wouldn't at all let that deter me from returning on the regular. Their coffee is very good, when considering it relative to other bagel store coffee. The egg sandwiches are always on point, with quality ingredients that go well no matter what your combination of choice is. This place also has a substantial deli menu and selection though I stick to the egg Sammie's. They've got deserts, muffins and cookies, as well as side dishes like potato salad, among many others. I had lived out of state for a number of months recently, and I was not able to find a single bagel place (and I looked!) that matched the passion and professionalism of this place and their bagel etiquette. I am a satisfied customer, and I am sure you will be as well.

They use the same gloves to make your food and then take ur money and never change gloves between money and food! This is disgusting and you would think with covid that they would change gloves more often!

I am so honored to be the first ever Yelp! review of Better on a Bagel (the original). First of all, the Port Jeff one is gross city. I don't know why anyone would there. The one in Miller Place has the softest, yummiest bagels ever and delicious cream cheese. When I got my driver license (quite a while ago) I would drive all the way here from Coram (even though there was a bagel place within walking distance of my house), but a dozen bagels (+ two free) and a tub of Temp-Tee and eat them all weekend long. Even though I moved off Long Island long ago, I still have these bagels every time I'm there and dream about them regularly. I was prompted to write this review because I listed BoaB bagels as my "last meal" on my Yelp! profile. I have lived in NY for 29 years and never tasted a better bagel.

Called the bagel shop from my car ,pulled up in front to place my order over the phone ,because I had a sick child in the car. The help stated lies and said they had a line out the door and couldn't take my order..I went inside and there was one person on line,everyone else had been helped. When I questioned why he lo d to me ,he told me if I didn't like it to go to the bagel store down the road.He then told everyone in the shop they would not be taking any phone orders for the day just Incase it got busy quickly. 12/17/2017 9:20am

Definitely our go to for all of our bagel needs. Always consistent and big, fluffy delicious bagels with lots of different flavors. There's nothing more satisfying than the hot and fresh bagels that come from Better On A Bagel! They even have a few different flavors of cream cheese. Also, custom and absolutely delicious egg sandwiches ! We've been going here for years and years so they truly have a great reputation in the community. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, providing a great customer service experience as well as a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Better On A Bagel & getting the family a dozen for the week!

My friend was missing bacon on her bagel breakfast sandwich. We told them about it and instead of just adding it on like we expected they made her a brand new sandwich. Above and beyond and that's why they're the best bagel shop on the island. Hearts.

if softer bagels are your thing, this is THE spot. Egg sandwiches are banging, never had to wait in line long, and staff are always happy to help. This is always my go-to bagel spot even when i moved to Shoreham, its worth the extra 10 minute drive for that good soft delicious bagel.

Favorite bagel place around town! They always have the freshest and softest bagels! Haven't been disappointed yet. The everything bagel is my favorite! Their egg sandwiches are also delicious.
