"A Lisbon favorite, this family-run chocolate-and-coffee café is continually showered by locals with love and devotion. Here, both the coffee and cocoa beans come from São Tomé and Príncipe. The former are roasted in-house and perfectly executed in one of Lisbon’s best espressos, while the latter are churned into artisan chocolate bars in outstanding flavors like ginger, orange, sea-salt-and-pepper, and toffee. If you order an espresso, you’ll get a free sample of chocolate so you can suss out your favorite before committing to a pricier piece of heaven."

"There are few combinations more indulgent than coffee and chocolate—luckily, Bettina & Niccolò Corallo, a hole-in-the-wall shop in Príncipe Real, specializes in both. The owners originally sourced all their coffee beans from São Tomé and Príncipe, but today they offer a range of excellent single-origin beans and brews from Central America, South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Everything is roasted in-house, and each espresso comes with a complimentary piece of chocolate." - Todd Plummer

Google
Bettina Corallo was exactly what we’d been searching for—high-quality chocolate in Portugal that’s actually fresh, delicious, and kid-friendly too (which is surprisingly hard to find). The space is calm and elegant, and what makes it extra special is that they do their own roasting. You can really taste the difference. The chocolate is beautifully crafted—rich but not overly sweet—and the kids loved it just as much as we did. It’s also a great spot for thoughtful gifts. You can custom order your own box, and the packaging is stunning. Everything here feels intentional and elevated without being fussy. Bettina Corallo is a must if you’re serious about chocolate.

Refined, unpretentious, simply the best chocolates ever!!! The flavors are deep and delicate. Pairing with dark chocolate and lemon unexpectedly delicious. Then chocolate with salt and pepper - amazing too. So good and hard to stop trying them. I want them all 🤩

We got hot chocolate to go. It was delish and so rich! Good drink to wake you up and get you ready for the day!

Service could be improved a bit but she was helpful enough. The shop is a lot smaller than I was thinking it would be. Most of the space is behind the counter for the workers and there are only a couple chairs in the front area for seating. No outdoor seating. They have a bunch of chocolates sold by weight and a few brownies in the glass case. They also have chocolate drinks and sorbets. We decided to try the cacao pulp fruit sorbet (5 euros) and it was freshly spun for us. Sweet and a little tart. We had never tried anything like it.

Having worked in Lisbon on an off for two years, this spot without doubt served they best coffee, and made mouth watering artisan chocolate. My favourite being the white chocolate with pineapple and the milk chocolate with pistachio. The small team served everyone with love and passion, their barista's were more like artists and the décor in this beautiful little shop is charming, rustic and welcoming. Thanks for always making my day with the perfect coffee!

Google
€5 for chocolate sorbet and €4 for brownie. I enjoyed both as I love decadent things, and the chocolate taste is intense. The brownie is super rich and moist, with so much butter content that it creates a little oily pool in the wax paper. It's also very tiny and thin, although definitely makes up for it in decadence. For the small sliver you get, it's really expensive. Sorbet was good. Like a soft serve texture, although I actually prefer Niva Gelato's chocolate sorbet (just down the street, if they carry it). I do love seeing artisan makers excel at their craft, so it was cool to try, and learn about the story!

This little store is easy to overlook but it is one of the hidden gems of the neighborhood. If you like chocolate the aroma will drive you crazy from the first steps in the door. They hand process chocolate mostly, but not exclusively, dark and they even roast their own coffee blend. In summer you cannot miss their raw chocolate ice cream and their smoothie. They offer pralines of such high quality and low sugar content, that my friend was recommended to come here by her doctor, seriously.

Google
Chocolate art at it’s most elevated and purest form. My dear friend Danai took me, my wife and a friend to this shop while on a walking tour of Lisbon. All the chocolates on offer are 50% dark or more and there is a wide assortment to choose from. We tried various styles starting with hazelnuts, cherry, toffee and turmeric flavoured dark chocolate along with a take away bag. Once you try this it’s very impossible to go back to normal chocolates. The coffee is brilliant too and the staff are a cheerful and knowledgeable bunch. Very cozy atmosphere. Must stop place in Lisbon for chocolate lovers.

Yelp
SO good!! To be fair, it's hard for me to not fall in love with anywhere that specializes in chocolate, but Bettina & Niccolo Corallo somehow takes their chocolate game to the next level. I swung by this gorgeous little coffee and chocolate cafe on a Thursday evening and decided to sample both temperature extremes with their small hot chocolate and small chocolate sorbet. The sorbet was outstanding and truly worth all the hype -- I genuinely don't understand how they could possibly create something so creamy and rich without any milk, but they somehow made it work. On the other end (and probably more season-appropriate), the hot chocolate was equally amazing. It was remarkably rich, and not overly sweet. It is really thick, though, and has a pretty high proportion of cacao, so it is a bit challenging to drink a large amount. I was glad I had opted for the small size, which was perfect for sipping as I snuggled into one of their shop's four seats to read for an hour or two. They also have a ton of specialty chocolates that I will have to check out during my next visit! They all seem delightful, but I was a bit chocolate-d out at that point. The shop was super cozy to hang in for a bit, and the staff is super friendly. There, unfortunately, isn't a ton of space or seating, and the shop is quite popular, so you definitely have to get lucky or be super strategic about when you swing by if you want to stay for a while.

Yelp
This is the best chocolate shop i've ever had so far among my Europe trip! The quality of the hot chocolate was amazing. It was thick and lots of aroma and tiny bit of sourness from the cocoa. The chocolate I had was 75% lemon flavor dark chocolate. My friends had 70% coconut dark chocolate and 75% cocoa chip dark chocolate. They were all incredibly amazing! And the quality was really good that when holding the chocolate on hand it started to melt after warmed up by the body temperature!! I will definitely re-visit this shop for some more chocolate. And this shop has online shop available to buy their chocolate in Europe area only.

Yelp
In honor of my lucky 13th Yelp Elite badge (but who is counting?) I'd like to ring in the new year with one of the sweetest topics: chocolate. My friend J and I took a roadtrip once, and developed a not-so-unique tradition of buying chocolate in every city we visited and then having it as a treat after dinner every night in the Airbnbs we stayed in. As an homage to J, I continued to do this on all of my travels in the years following. During my stay in Lisbon, I happened to see a short queue outside this chocolate shop as I walked through the neighborhood, and then my eyes perked when I saw the sign declaring vegan hot chocolate. I stood in the very COVID-safe line (everyone was masked, and the chocolate shop had hand sanitizer set out front) for my chocolate. Reader: I went back three days in a row. This is some of the best chocolate I've ever had in my travels. The tiny vegan hot chocolate was the perfect size, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat but not too sweet. The staff was kind, and carefully pointed out which chocolate bars did not contain dairy once I informed them of my lactose intolerance. Some favorites: the ginger felt decadent, the hazelnut oh my gosh the hazelnut, with big hazelnut chunks and the smoothest chocolate ever. The Pimenta e flor de sal was epic as well. All of the chocolate is made fresh, and if you have the willpower not to eat it all on the spot, they will package everything in front of you, with perfect little stickers and bags to identify which chocolate is which. There was something special in texting J about the chocolate, and for him to ask if they ship, and for me to say no, that he would have to come to Lisbon to try this special place. Another tip: if you take your little cup of hot chocolate across the street, there is a nice lookout point and you can enjoy the chocolate on a bench in the plaza. Happy new year!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this chocolate as I have tasted bean to bar chocolate all over the world. I was disappointed to find that they primarily offer chocolate with mix in additions, so tasting of the actual cacao is obstructed. It may be a great choice for someone who enjoys that, but when I see the words "bean to bar" that is not the type of product or experience that I expect.

Yelp
WOW! I was here today to buy some chocolate. I tried the Chocolate with Caramel. It was utterly sensational. The best chocolate and caramel that I have ever had. I also tried the brownie, which was excellent. David assisted me, and he was super friendly, super knowledgable, and just all around helpful. I have heard that this is the best chocolate shop in Lisbon, and I now have no doubt. I prefer it to the famous chocolate shops of Paris. If you are in Lisbon, be sure to stop here!

Yelp
Tiny tiny venue with chocolate selection at the counter behind glass display- makes it a bit intimidating to try to order quickly without being able to read the signs with the different options when there are people behind you. Staff was kind- if you like dark chocolate this is your spot

Yelp
Great small coffee shop. The beans are very flavourfully roasted (as opposed to the standard char that is common in much of Portugal). They let you try some of their specialty chocolate with every order. The chocolates are also quite nice, especially the ginger. A little bit out of the way (not too much else in the area), but worth the detour. Only seats around 6 people, but doesn't seem to get very crowded. And I suppose you could always drink your espresso at the bar if you can't find a chair.

Yelp
Stopped in for a doppio and a taste of delicious and authentic dark chocolate 75%.. they even have up to 100%. So good...

Yelp
This was near where I was staying on a trip to Lisbon, and I feel so lucky to have walked by. I've never had chocolate like this! It's almost a year later and I think about it often. I bought a little box of assorted chocolates, and now when I look at it (now holding other small things that are sadly not B&NC chocolate) it makes me wish I could purchase it from the US. If you go, buy twice as much as you think you should and hide it for later.

Yelp
Great chocolate and delicious coffee. Note that the space is small and can only hold about 5 seats. They let you sample chocolate with your coffees. The pimento and flor de sol chocolate is amazing. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I was really happy to find a quality chocolate shop in Portugal! This place is tiny but worth a visit. All of their chocolate is rich and not too sugary-sweet. The brownies are delicious and clearly made in-house daily; if you don't see them on display, just ask for them. I tried a few different chocolate creations and all were delicious. The prices are a tad bit high, but totally worth it. Now that I am back home, I wish I had bought more!

Yelp
Beautiful, simple and delicious chocolate. You can tell that theirs is the real bean to bar as the bars do not have that glossy/smooth texture that chocolate produced from mass chocolate blocks (aka valrhona). Staff was extremely helpful and let me ate my way through their selections before I made my purchase. I also had a glimpse of their hot brownies coming out of the oven and that looked delicious as well. If I'll be ever be in Lisbon again, I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place is highly recommended on lists of chocolate places in Lisbon. They store is simple and nice. They have a variety of dark chocolates. I tried the sesame and enjoyed it a lot. I got all the flavored bars under 80%. I look forward to trying the rest.

Yelp
Claudio Corallo is one of the best Chocolate makers in the world. It happens that decided to open is store in Lisbon probably because of its cocoa an coffee artisan production in St. Tomé and Principe. Great tastings, great selection and imaginative blends. One of the Best shops in Lisbon by far.

Yelp
Wonderful chocolate! Organic, roughly cut, with unexpected spicy flavors... it's an unforgettable experience. A proud display of good taste.

Yelp
The new store is open since March of 2014 in the main street of Principe Real. They have all the best chocolates and also new products. Now you have place to sit and enjoy the place. The adress is Rua da escola politécnica, 4 Principe Real-Lisbon. There are the brand Claudio Corallo and Bettina e Niccolò Corallo. You can enjoy again the delicious chocolates! Be happy! Open 10AM to 20PM I love it!

Yelp
Inconspicuously situated on a busy street, the discovery of this coffee and chocolate specialty cafe yesterday was a trip highlight. They roast the coffee on site, and I see from a couple of other reviews that this must be the most recent incarnation of a family business that goes back some years. This shop is named Bettina and Niccolo Corallo. Seems they also produce the exquisite chocolate we tasted. If you value a good cup of coffee, this place is worth making the effort to find. The chocolate tasting given with our cup was excellent, as was the hot chocolate my daughter enjoyed. The proprietors are warm and generous, creating a really nice vibe. Heading back this morning!

Yelp
Hope and I lucked upon this exquisite chocolate shop while in Lisbon a few weeks ago. It turned out to be a mere ten minute walk from our hotel. This is, beyond doubt, the best chocolate I have ever tasted. Sample and buy the chocolate bars, certainly. But you simply must have a scoop of the chocolate gelato. Out of this world!
