On a seafood recommendation by a resident my wife and I had a wonderful experience here. We were visiting The City for her birthday, having lived here many years ago. So many choices for good seafood, but we will surely go here again when we return. My wife had the seafood linguine in tomato cream and I the cioppino. Mine had 1/2 a crab and was so large I thought it was for two. I ate it all! Thankfully, they had bibs. This cioppino is finger food and will decorate the tablecloth, napkins and you! So good! We both finished our plates, which is rare these days. The staff were attentive, suggestions spot on and the owner was very nice, sharing stories of his life and career. Thank you Hector and all the staff. Looking forward to our next meal!

Google
I like the eclectic decor. Sometimes breezy if someone leaves one of the doors open. Cioppino is definitely the way to go. I liked the large shrimp and scallops especially. Risotto was okay but a little under for the rice. Seafood was fresh. Bread was good. I could see why they charge for additional

Amazing sea food and pasta, service is fast a efficient. Servers are on top of their game and food tastes amazing. I had to ask for some red crush pepper because I would like little bit of kick on my pasta. Will visit again when in the town.

Delicious food! Great service, iconic location. One could not ask for more in this North Beach eatery. The calamari was really flavorful and the sea bass special was great, thankfully they filleted it for me!

**A Solid Seafood Experience at Betty Lou’s Seafood Grill** Betty Lou’s Seafood Grill offers a **pleasant dining experience in the heart of San Francisco**, delivering fresh seafood with thoughtful preparation. While the **clam chowder was thinner** than expected, it still carried a decent flavor that complemented the meal. The highlight of the evening was the **large prawns in butter sauce**, an entrée that truly stood out. The prawns were **perfectly cooked** and paired beautifully with the accompanying potatoes, creating a rich and satisfying dish. Service was **decent** throughout our visit—not extraordinary, but efficient enough to ensure a smooth meal. Overall, Betty Lou’s is a **good seafood restaurant**, providing enjoyable flavors without going over the top. If you’re looking for a casual spot with well-prepared seafood, it’s certainly worth considering.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the cioppino at Betty Lou's, and it was a real treat. This San Francisco classic is a must-try for seafood lovers, and Betty Lou's version delivered. The dish was loaded with an impressive array of fresh seafood, including plenty of clams, a couple of large scallops, a succulent prawn, and a generous helping of Dungeness crab. The portion size was generous, to say the least - it was enough to fill me up and then some. My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is the price point, which is a bit steeper than some other places I've tried (like the Four Seasons). That being said, I think the generous portion size justifies the cost, and the flavors were rich and well-balanced. Overall, I'd highly recommend Betty Lou's cioppino to anyone craving a delicious and filling seafood meal. Just be prepared for a bigger-than-average serving, and you'll be in for a treat!

I tried the cioppino. It was a great first experience. Spent a little too much time for a lunch. It's a messy work, use all the "protection" you receive 😅

Almost got food poisoned due to bad mussel. I grew up by the sea and know how mussels taste like. When bringing kids to the city we ate some really bad mussel that I immediately spit out. I told the waitress to let the chef know that he might want to toss the batch - just a kind reminder. To my surprise, the chef stormed out and yelled at me saying that the mussel is fresh. He even brought out a dish of raw mussel for me to examine. Among the small amount, I immediately found one dead mussel - with the shells already open and letting out a bad smell. Picture included. It was not the mussel itself that angered me - I have eaten a lot of bad shellfish in my life. It’s the chef’s gross ignorance of the food safety that made me very concerned. I am also writing a report to California department of public health.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was wonderful. Cornelius was the absolute best! The oysters were delicious and surprisingly the shooters were even better. Crab and ravioli were cooked to perfect!

Yelp
I love this spot - none of my friends have heard of it but they all loved it when I took them here. I've always gotten the seafood linguine because it's just that good - a generous amount of seafood, amazing sauce, and dipping the bread in the sauce after.... The service is always great here too. Highly recommend! Get the seafood linguine!

Yelp
Mic check 1, 2, 1, 2. Right back at ya in twenty twenty five. With another gem in SF's tourist trap, but you know it's good ole vibes. Betty Lou's coming through with some seafood from the bay. Where the kids go dumb, ya we all get hyphy -- Sure fire that's the SF way. Okay -- I can't rap. So, resuming in normal. Want to hear something weird? As we waited for our table, a big party was just leaving and one of the girls in the party thought it would be fun to steal. She grabbed a big loaf of bread from the server station then proceeded to put the bread under her arm and walk out. I mean, if you wanted bread just ask. Anyhow, Betty's Lou's is great! Nothing bad to say. The servers are attentive, hence the thief catching. You know in some places they cut off your hand for stealing, from what I've heard. I don't think it's a common practice, but I've heard stories. The food does take some time, but we already knew that since this isn't our first rodeo. Factor in a solid 30 because this place gets super busy. Off topic: One thing that is questionable are the wine glasses. I mean, how big is that pour? Can't be more than 5 ounces and I'm used to drinking my wine as bottles. On the menu I had the scallops. Yummy for my tummy. A tad over salted, but still delicious nonetheless. I could have used more veggies, they were all gone in like 4 seconds. The White Sea bass was divine. Almost like butter just melting in your mouth. Be careful though, it's the whole fish, so be careful to not swallow a bone. Didn't try the lobster ravioli, but it looked good. Just not a fan of cream sauce. Although, choose your own adventure the menu is outstanding! All in all. Solid gem in SF. Would I come again? Sure, but this isn't a location to eat everyday on a regular. The menu is pretty heavy in terms of what's on the menu and price point. Happy New Year and happy eating. Cheers!

Yelp
A nice intimate place for lunch. Comfortable and bright. Attentive and pleasant staff. The petrale sole, a white fish was delicious. A decent portion. Green beans sautéed with carrots had a nice bite, not mushy. A square of cheesy scalloped potatoes to complete dish. Well, done. Get the tiramisu! Made in house by the owner and chef, Hector. My favorite of the one's I've tried in restaurants and cafes in the Bay Area. One star reduction from what would have been a 4-star review. I expected some chunks of dungeness crab meat in the crab Louie. Not a one. Overall, the louie was short on crab. Not like one that is pictured. Crab is in season, too. I will go back to try other entrees and enjoy the tiramisu.

Yelp
We made a reservation since this place is usually packed for dinner, and I'm so glad we did! We ordered the cioppino, calamari, sand dabs, and linguine with clams. Everything was absolutely flavorful and delicious! The linguine with clams and the cioppino were the highlight of my experience. Highly recommend for a great seafood dinner!

Yelp
Betty's Lou is a well-known seafood restaurant in North Beach on Columbus Street. I went there to try the Mikes Wok Crab dish. The food was good. Mikes Wok Crab is a whole crab served Chinese-style with scallions and ginger in a light sauce. Other tables near me had the cioppino, and it looked great. If I go back, I'll probably try the cioppino. However the service was disappointing: overwhelmed and rushed. The restaurant feels very touristy, and the tables for two people are tiny.

Yelp
Couple of Years ago I went to Betty Lou's and it was Amazinggggggg. The Food was flavorful and Great sized portions. I don't know if I came on an off day, but sadly the food this time left little to be desired. Came here on Early Friday Evening and the place had only one party seated. No one at the host stand, I flagged a worker down who stated me and my party could sit anywhere. We were greeted promptly and placed our order. Drinks: Moscow Mule: 4/5 overall this was good, it was served in tall glass not the standard Copper Mug. Which I had no complaints about get a little more alcohol in my cup lol it did taste as though it was made with Tequila and not standard Vodka. Food: House Salad:5/5 Standard Salad, it was fresh and had a very nice Vinaigrette Entrees: Linguine With Seafood : 2/5 The Noodles itself were fine but the seafood had a strange pinkish color and had very fishy odor. You can choose the sauce you want with pasta. I got the Garlic and olive oil which was good. However, my other party who ordered the same dish didn't enjoy their meal. They Were recommended the Cream Sauce which they didn't enjoy at all. The Seafood on pasta like mine was pink and had fishy odor, the sauce didn't look right nor did it taste good. They felt a bit sick after eating this pasta. Service: 4/5 The Server was very Friendly and attentive. Overall, I am a bit disappointed in my visit as I had a great experience the first time around. I was excited to have my friend try this place out. As I raved about how good the food was from my initial experience; but it left very little to be desired by the food this time.

Yelp
I ordered Calamari and the Tomato Cream Linguine with Seafood and I have to say that this was the freshest tasting seafood that I've had in a while. I ordered these items to-go on a Wednesday afternoon and though the place was nearly empty, from the ambiance I could tell that this would be a fantastic dinner date spot for people looking for a more classy dining option. Pros - The freshness of the seafood was surprising, especially for the calamari - The Tomato Cream Linguine with Seafood had a lot more seafood than I expected and it was flavorful, the sauce paired well with the mussels, clams, and calamari - The large portion size of the calamari - The upscale vibe is fit for a special night out Cons - I had to wait a while for someone to come take my order since no one was by the door which may have been because I came during lunchtime on a weekday
google avatar

Yelp
With soooo many pasta spots in the city, I'm sure you're thinking what distinguishes this one - then you have to order the seafood linguine with tomato cream sauce. Both the restaurant and the dishes are cozy, homey, and filling. Look at the amount of seafood! And the tomato cream sauce is perfect - I was scared this dish would be too heavy but it really isn't and I was able to finish it all in one sitting, which doesn't always happen for me. They also had a homemade tiramisu that I would love to try next time! Ask if they have if you're interested.

Yelp
We were planning a special birthday dinner for our MIL and wanted a seafood restaurant in the city. Betty Lou's delivered ! They were very accommodating for our party of 16! We had a water spill from one of the kids and they took care of it, which we appreciated. The table was ready early and we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal together. We started with calamari and bread. We got a variety of menu items and everything was delicious and satisfying. I had the seafood pasta with olive oil and garlic which I enjoyed but everything was yummy. I also had the bloody Mary which was spicy and tasty. They helped us celebrate our special birthday and we had a great time. Would recommend especially with their great location in the heart of North Beach. This place is nice without being overly fancy.

Yelp
It was a gathering of the girls. I really felt like crab and the description sounded really good. But it was just okay. I guess when I compare it and it just doesn't. The service was good.

Yelp
The description is accurate, cute North Beach Italian place, was packed for a Thursday but cleared up by 8pm. Had steamed mussels and clams, linguine with olive sauce and the must have SF treat dish Cioppino. All the food was fresh with generous portions and most importantly darn good !

Yelp
Food - ordered the seafood pasta and meatballs seafood pasta - 5/5 super good! noodles were cooked perfectly, sauce was good and creamy and seafood felt fresh. highly recommend meatballs - 3/5 were good but standard meatballs complimentary bread - 2/5 was ok. not super crispy Service - really good. got seated pretty quickly, ordered and food came pretty fast. Ambiance - cute little spot in north beach. lots of seating.

Yelp
So this spot, is my favorite place by far for a wide range of reasons. Perfect for a date night spot, if you want some of the best seafood dishes in northbeach (its better than the "famous cioppino" spot up the street imo, which I will not name lol), this spot is really a IYKYK kinda spot and trust me I know. I always start off with an order of their fried calamari because why the heck not! Crispy and delicious, you cannot go wrong. Now for my main I'm a huge fan of seafood pastas and Betty Lou's seafood linguine is PURE perfection. Get it with the creamy tomato sauce! The flavors of the seafood and the pasta just dance so well together, the sauce is not overly watery which sometimes happens where I've dined at other places in the past. Plus, the pasta is loaded with seafood. You'll be sure to get the perfect amount of seafood with every bite. I can't recommend this place enough, you'll just have to try it out for yourself and see!

Yelp
My first time trying cioppino and omg this one was a very delicious dish. Cioppino is a mixture of seafood in a tomato broth. Well is more than that. It is worth learning the history of this San Franciscan dish. Amazing service, they were very attentive. And the place is very cute to have a perfect date.
google avatar

Yelp
By far one of the best Italian restaurants in sf! We have tried many places because my mother likes cioppino, but nowhere can beat this. It has been top tier before and after covid; there have been no noticeable sacrifices in quality and taste, and the prices are much more reasonable than other places in the neighborhood. We came on mother's day and had a reservation for 6:30pm. It wasn't crowded at all and there were some seats open early on. Not sure if some parties made reservations or walked in. Cioppino - 5/5, two huge scallops, a big prawn, and a good amount of crab and mussels. The flavor was amazing! So delicious I couldn't stop stealing a spoonful every now and then. Seafood linguini - 5/5, lots of mussels and shrimps with a huge scallop. Noodles are perfectly cooked and the sauce is super flavorful and delicious. Seafood risotto- 5/5, same deal with the linguini but with risotto. Super flavorful with a nice bite to the rice. Complimentary bread - 5/5, warm and fresh out of the oven. Super soft with a nice crust, delicious. I believe they sell extra baskets of bread for $5, and I would definitely get it if I could eat that much. Clam chowder - 4/5, good flavor, decent amount of clams but lots of potato. Calamari - 3/5, the batter fell off and crumbled a lot, which was unfortunate. Calamari itself was alright.

Yelp
Looking for a spot that had oysters and sea food. Betty Lou's was it. West Coast Ousters were great with just the right amount of brine and their sauce was the best. For dinner we shared the Seafood Risotto with Clams, Mussels, Prawns, Sea Scallops, Bay Shrimp, Calamari. Every item was cooked perfectly and there was plenty for the two of us.

Yelp
First dinner for another ladies weekend in SF! Three of us in total, one person would rate our dinner a "4,", the others (myself included) would rate overall experience at a "3." Pros- lobster ravioli was the best dish of the dishes ordered. The dish came with 6 raviolis in total, we each ate 2. We asked to see a dessert menu, which we were told they didn't have. As we prepared to pay our bill - the waiter brought over a complimentary slice of cheesecake that he said the Chef had, was a nice thing for the Chef to do. Cons- the other dishes we ordered (crab cakes, Mike's wok crab, and salmon) were ok, but not the best we've ever had. The crab had good meaty crab legs, but the flavor didn't soak in the sauce as much as any of us would have liked. I thought the salmon was cooked well, but both my friends thought it lacked salt. Service... mixed bag here too. No one really came to check on us, outside of taking our order then giving us our bill. Our water was low for quite sometime before it was taken away and refilled. Lastly, the crab cake appetizer came with 2 cakes, we weren't told that or asked if we wanted a 3rd one, which is what we usually have happen... While it wasn't a bad meal, it wasn't our best. Will try one of the other spots on my SF list next time.

Yelp
Food 9.5/5!!! Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Vibe: - classy north beach restaurant - PRICEY - if you like Italian seafood, this be the place for you Food: - get Mike's wok crab! - my favorite dish is the linguine with seafood and creamy tomato sauce - my favorite place to go to treat myself - filling and incredibly flavorful

Yelp
As someone who does not eat a lot of seafood, I was pleasantly surprised to have eaten one of the best creamy pesto pastas that I've had. I ordered the 1/2 fettuccine with creamy pasta & shrimp. The portions were more than enough and am so sad that I don't live in sf because I know I'll be craving this real soon. The bread that comes with dinner was exceptional as well! There were a good number of seating available and our server was kind, patient and was such a joy! So basically, if you are not a big seafood person, there are options & they will not disappoint!

Guy S.

Yelp
I'm 65 years old, lived in San Francisco, Ca for 50 years and worked as a chef in a couple of the finest restaurants here. I have never eaten rotten seafood until dinner at Betty Lou's. I order a bass dinner, and it was served with no eyes and was very mushy. Eat here at your own risk. Wait staff was great!

Yelp
Ate here last night, what a find. A great little Italian Seafood restaurant in little Italy San Francisco.. I started with a hearty New England style Clam Chowder soup, then I had Lobster Ravioli and my friend had Seafood Risotto, both of which were excellent and shared with a nice red wine. We finished off with Tiramisu (no photo). A short Uber ride from our hotel.
google avatar

Ethan Chingyi I.

Yelp
Got the creamy pesto seafood linguini and lobster ravioli -- huge fan of both! The portion for the lobster ravioli is a little small tho, so the seafood linguini was more worth it for me. Seafood linguini -- 9/10 Lobster ravioli -- 8/10

Yelp
I am big on service first and food next. The servers were very nice and accommodating. I came for a small lunch. I ordered clam chowder, a bloody, Mary, and a half dozen oysters. The restaurant sits in the heart of North Beach and Chinatown with gorgeous, beautiful architecture and bustling city life. The menu was full of my favorites, and I will definitely be back. I worked down the street and Betty Lou's will now become my go-to for lunch.
google avatar

Waleena G.

Yelp
One word - delicious. My family and I celebrated my mother's birthday and Betty Lou's Seafood was the perfectly place to do that.
google avatar

Stephy H.

Yelp
Betty Lou is located in the lively North Beach neighborhood. Don't even think about driving here because parking is literally impossible. There are also lots of dessert places and bars nearby so if you are looking for something to do after dinner, there are plenty of options. They have a fairly small menu, but every main dish we tried was delicious!!! We got the clam chowder, seafood fettuccini with pesto sauce, wok crab, and cioppino. The only thing I'll say is that I would definitely skip the clam chowder next time. It was underwhelming and overpriced. But you can't go wrong with the cioppino, wok crab, and seafood pasta. The seafood was fresh and portions were super generous! I LOVED the pesto sauce with the pasta. It's not dry at all, and we even dipped the bread in the extra sauce! Soooo yum. The cioppino was authentic and packed with seafood flavor. The wok crab with ginger and scallion sauce reminds me of something you can get at a dim sum restaurant! I wish I had a bowl of rice to eat to soak up all the sauces. My family of 5 shared 3 entrees and 2 bowls of clam chowder and it was the perfect amount of food! We finished everything and we were satisfied. I definitely recommend checking this place out for a seafood dinner.

Yelp
Small place with BIG things but they work it out! The service was great and the food AMAZING! The staff even surprised me with complimentary wine for my birthday! Uber kept canceling because they could not "locate" the restaurant and the staff was so patient and allowed us to wait inside since they were closing.
google avatar

Yelp
Arrived at 12 noon for lunch and I was the only one in the whole restaurant. I was seated by a small table by the window so I got to people watch (yay!) down the corner of Columbus & Broadway. Having reviewed their menu prior to coming, I knew I wanted to order the Linguine with Seafood and decided on the tomato cream sauce. The server was very kind, quickly bought out bread and the pasta. He checked up on me twice as well! The pasta was a big portion with octopus, calamari, clams, mussels, prawn, scallop and a gigantic shrimp. Seafood was fresh, pasta had hints of tomato and cream. Loved it! I enjoyed my lunch, people watching and the great service! I would not hesitate to come back!

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant in North Beach. The casual atmosphere paired with their amazing menu was the perfect spot for my friends and I after work. When we came here at 6pm on a weekday the restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the sauted scallops and shrimps with sides of seasonal vegetable and scalloped potatoes ($33ish). The seasonal vegetables were tasty, and scalloped potatoes were delicious with the top being perfectly crispy. The scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked and the garlic butter was a perfect compliment to the seafood. The meal was absolutely delicious, and to be able to have a fancy seafood meal at a non-stuffy restaurant was delightful!
google avatar

Yelp
We had 6 adults and one child and didn't have a problem being seated around 4 pm. There was a festival, so I'm not sure how that impacted things. It took a while for someone to take our order. Also took a long time to get our food. They forgot our app, and then brought it after our meal. I got the Seafood linguine with creamy tomato sauce and loved it. Great flavors in the sauce and enough sauce. The calamari was ok, but I was not happy they forgot.
google avatar

Yelp
such a fine establishment with amazing service! seriously was really blown away by how friendly the staff were and how they were able to anticipate our needs. really enjoyed a nice dinner here with the east coast oysters and their cioppino, wok crab, and prawn sauté that were recommended. the cioppino was flavor packed and generous with the seafood! the wok crab was also great, a little too salty for my overly sensitive tastes, but everyone else enjoyed it very much!! the oysters were fresh and enjoyable. the prawn sauté was also flavorful and came with a super rich and creamy potato gratin. one thing I can't get over is their complimentary bread that they bake in house and came super fresh straight from the oven, served to us piping hot, still steaming. It was so delicious. from my seat there was a great view of the bustling life and SF lights on that vibrant night, but it was a comforting, relaxing dinner ambiance!
google avatar

Yelp
Really awesome meal today at Betty Lou's! I had my second cioppino ever, and this one far exceeded the first. There was so much good seafood in here, especially the crab! I'm not a fan of calamari and they actually said it was ok to avoid it (and I found none in the bowl!). We also ordered the sand dabs (not pictured), and they were also awesome. Probably the cioppino was enough for my mom and I, but it was nice to try sand dabs. Service was awesome and we got a nice window spot to do people-watching. Will definitely be back next time I'm in San Fran!

Yelp
Quality definitely has gone down. Use to come here and I remember to Risotto so creamy and delicious where it makes me think about it. Came back and the quality has definitely gone down. They give you one big shrimp and one big scallop. The rest are small seafood they add to the mix. Def not like before and taste not as before. My friend got the seafood linguini and was also disappointed as her seafood was full of sand.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Friday around 1pm. There were a few other tables, not too packed. It's very charming and bright inside (it was a bright, sunny day). Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the cioppino and the Steamers combo (with clams & mussels). My benchmark whenever I get cioppino or steamers is always Hog Island (which sets a high bar). I am happy to report that Betty Lou's was great! The Cioppino is a thick-ish, super tasty tomato soup with very generous amounts of seafood. The seafood texture and flavor worked really well together and was super generously portioned making feel that it was well worth the $50! The steamers comes in a white wine butter sauce, which is very tasty and goes well with the steamers. It paired well with dipping bread in it. We saw lots of regulars in the restaurant and we can see why! We will definitely be back to this charming restaurant with its tasty seafood, charming ambience, and friendly servers!

Yelp
Nice cozy place, very well sun lit seating indoors Ordered 1. East coast and west coast oysters: rating 5/5 East coast oysters are on the saltier side. We enjoyed the west coast oysters more, mainly due to their larger sizes and more watery texture. Oysters were served with horseradish and ketchup sauces Tip : do not taste the horseradish sauce like it was ketchup. I did that before others on the table could stop me. Ignorant me was soon rewarded with a gust of heat that ran through my nose upwards to the head and my body wringled in an emotion you get if you eat wasabi directly 2. Wok crab seasoned with herbs, garlic, onion : rating 4/5 First time eating crabs. Learnt how to use the tools and the bib that they provided. 3. Linguine pasta with creamy pesto and chicken : rating 4/5 Nice pasta, sauce was well balanced not too creamy

Yelp
BETTY LOUS!!!!!!!! I can't believe I didn't know about this place until last weekend! Thanks to booziebrunch on Instagram for the recommendation! I was only here for Mikes Wok Crab and this did not disappoint me at all. The service was great, we did not have reservations and we were seated right away The ambiance was a chill vibe, really cute inside to me. BUT THIS CRAB!!! The taste was immaculate! MUST TRY

Yelp
Betty Lou's Seafood is a nice restaurant that offers fresh seafood, salads, pastas, steak & chicken. Service was wonderful. We actually went off hours, so it wasn't as crowded, maybe only a few tables. Decor is simple, framed vintage photos of various things like mushrooms, fish, family & people visiting, etc. There is a mural painting of the ruins of parts of "Italy". Raw Oysters - served with cocktail sauce, lemon wedges, and horseradish; no vinegarette. But that's OK, because the oysters were fresh, briny, and meaty. They didn't need any sauce. Mike's Wok Crab: whole cracked Dungeoness Crab, scallions, Cilantro, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. This was fabulous! Basically, it's the same sauce and style as when you go to a Chinese restaurant and get the Cantonese Steamed Whole Fish. It's the same, but with Crab! Great job Mike! Boston Clam Chowder - rich, creamy, peppery. It was simple. We will be back to try the Cioppino and Risotto!

We came here at 8oclock on a Sunday looking for some good seafood and Betty Lou's did the trick! We ordered a cup of clam chowder, Cioppino, and Mike's wok crab. The lady who worked as the hostess took our order and gave us so many good recs. She said we ordered well. Everything was super fresh and piping hot!! The Cioppino had huge amounts of seafood and the biggest scallops ever. The Mike's wok crab was really light and done really well. It really made the crab stand out. They kept bringing out more bread for us to dip which was slay. Our total with tip was around $130! Loved everything and would come back in a heart beat!

Yelp
Nothing but good people, incredible food, relaxed atmosphere representing one of the last Bastions of a dying breed of San Francisco classic dishes. This is where the locals go. If someone tells you there's something better on green street they're not in the know;) Right from doorway the service is top notch. If you're not a local, they'll make you feel like one! Take a gander the pictures on the wall and ask for a story. I don't even know what to say about Mike's wok crab, other than I'd follow him/it wherever they go in the summer time ask for the sand dabs. If you like sole meunière, you might not be impressed by it and seek out the dabs!! This was yesterday's lunch for two! And prices still reasonable for this day and age! Mangia!

Yelp
We came for a large group dinner and did a last minute reservation. They were able to accommodate but we had to come a little after peak dinner hour which was fine. Yes, it's in a bit of a touristy area but the seafood was fresh and so good. I went with the crab and shared with everyone who absolutely loved it. We also did some shrimp cocktails, pasta and fish. Everything was delicious and all the guests really enjoyed the food

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and was seated immediately. Service was great and you get an order of bread with your meal! What we ordered: - Cioppino $50 - 5/5 honestly what a great dish! Plenty of crab, mussels, clams, shrimp in a delicious sauce. We split between 3 people and just supplemented with an extra carb, but definitely a 2-3 person dish. Definitely get this if you're coming here! - Vegetable risotto $24 - 3/5 this one was not my favorite risotto. Maybe it was the type rice but it wasn't very creamy? The flavor was mild and the vegetables were pretty plain, nothing special. I wouldn't order this again. Coming back for that cioppino and to try some pasta dishes!

Yelp
Great restaurant and owners are long time North Beach business people. Best fresh seafood in North Beach. Enjoy a friendly ambiance and meal.

Yelp
They do Lunch now! We had the entire place to ourselves for a lunch on a Saturday. It was crazy. The food is insane, great seafood and great service. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable. We shared seafood risotto, seafood linguine (creamy pesto) and calamari. First the calamari was a light fry and really tasty. The risotto had great garlic flavor and the seafood was cooked well. The linguine with the creamy pesto sauce was amazing! Go here

Yelp
Came here today Thursday night not to busy like weekend. So more relaxed and not to loud. Food good as always, price reasonable and portion different in weekday, slightly more

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but I want to give an honest review of our experience Had reservations for 7 ppl on Sunday for brunch to celebrate my birthday. A few in our party arrived a little early and they were accommodating which was lovely, thank you. Once we had all arrived it just took way too long for our waitress to come get our drink order. We ordered some drink and appetizers which all were delicious, west coast oysters and crab cakes. From when we ordered our food to receiving our food it had been a 55 minute wait. Mind you they had another large party come in after us, ordered after us but received their food way before us. That large party had actually finished us as our food was barely coming out. Our server would only come if we called her, went an entire 45 minutes with her not at all coming to check on us, empty drinks, no water.. At about the 50 minutes of us waiting for our food I finally got her attention to ask how much longer. She was apologetic but at this point we all were ready to leave. Food was ok, which was super disappointing since we waited so long for it. Again this is just our experience, everyone has a different experience hence their amazing reviews unfortunately we just did not have the same.
