I just had the best ice cream experience ever, thanks to two amazing young men working behind the counter! Their service was top-notch – super friendly, patient while I made my millionth flavor decision, and they made the perfect scoop. Seriously, these guys are a total asset to your team. They turned a simple ice cream run into a highlight of my day!

I love Betty Rae's. It's homemade ice cream and that is all you need to know. We love the verity of choices. My go to cookies and cream didn't disappoint. Kiddo got milk and cereal, taste matched the description but the chunks of actual cereal were stale. Service was wonderful with the workers being very helpful and friendly while we tried some samples to help make out choices.

Possibly the best ice cream in town, featuring some unusual flavors too, like goat cheese & apricots or honey lavender. They used to offer a larger variety of unusual flavors, but now they have more crowd pleasers. Still, all their flavors are delicious!

I had such an amazing experience here! The service was truly outstanding — the young man helping us was incredibly hardworking, kind, and professional. You can tell he really takes pride in what he does. The strawberry ice cream was phenomenal — so fresh, creamy, and full of flavor, easily the best I’ve ever had! I am so happy there is now a Betty Rae's branch near my house. They have some of my favorite ice cream flavors of all time. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the service is always friendly. I think about stopping there every single time I drive by and have to remind myself that I can't eat ice cream every day. I often find myself checking their website to see what their rotating flavors are to have that knowledge in the back of my mind, just in case of an ice cream emergency.

Flights....Flights and flights! That's how I enjoy Betty's. That's the only way to enjoy it here. All their stuff is delicious...the staff is very kind. Yes, seating can be sparse buttttt the ice cream makes up for it.

Betty Rae's Ice Cream is a popular Kansas City ice cream shop known for its hand-made, hand-scooped ice cream and unique flavor combinations. What i figured out is the ice cream is all hand-made and hand-scooped, using fresh, local ingredients. I had the classic Chocolate Brownie and my partner had S'mores which had the burnt marshmallow live made by the employee right infront of us. Both the icecream taste really fresh compared to the other icecreams we generally have from Wholefoods or Price Chopper. Regarding franchise Betty Rae's has launched a franchise program and is expanding to other cities in the region, such as Omaha, Nebraska; St. Louis, Missouri; Wichita, Kansas; Bentonville, Arkansas; Nashville, Tennessee; Denver, Colorado; Oklahoma City; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. The first franchise location opened in Omaha in September. In addition to scoops, Betty Rae's offers waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches, sundaes, and ice cream pies. They also have a traveling ice cream truck for events.

Bring back gluten free waffle cones! The ice cream is really good but frustrated they made a big deal on social media when they introduced the gluten free cones only to take them away. Also, it's ridiculous how many times this location runs out of things like hot fudge or marshmallow topping.

Great people and great ice cream. They featured some fun Christmas flavors and will pack up pints to take home. A few tables and a clean area make it fun.

Cute cream shop chain. KC local and has opened many new locations recently. Plenty of fun flavors and even dairy free options. Tried their bbq flavor which had bbq sauce and even chunks of bbq in it, it was a unique choice. Funfetti has cake prices with sprinkles, so tasty. My favorite flavor is their goat cheese, apricots, and walnuts. Every flavor offered can be bought to go in pints, quarts, .5 and regular gallons. You can make it a sundae, shakes, or float too. They have ice cream flights and huge ice cream sandwiches that look amazing. Staff is always friendly and they always have clean locations! Highly recommend if you're looking for fun flavors!

Best ice cream shop in Kansas City! I went to the one in Olathe. Inside of the place is cute. They give you a sample to try to see if you like the flavor. I had cookie dough, and cookies & cream, and it was delicious! Service was awesome! Not only you can get an ice cream and hangout there, they have pints for you to take home! Looking forward to coming back here soon!

The ice cream is tasty if you're willing to stand in long line for a dip. We have visited the shop 3 times and there is a line out the door upon every visit. The vegan flavors is what drew us in for a taste. It's a good thing to offer a pint, but why is it more than double what you pay in the grocery? It makes me miss the drive through that costs less than $5.00. Great location near a soccer complex. The quick service is appreciated with the line out the door.

Best ice cream in Olathe for sure, KC of course. Gooey Buttercake is by far the best, with a close second butter pecan. A must enjoy.

Seriously the most amazing ice cream I've ever had! Really appreciate the multiple gluten-free options and truly unique flavors. The customer service at the Ridgeview Road location has always been fantastic.

This place was located conveniently across from our hotel so I decided to stop by and treat my family to some ice cream. Let me tell you I am so glad we stopped by. The ice cream here is by far the best I have ever had. For starters the girls who work there are extremely friendly and offer to get you to try the flavors before choosing one you like. I picked a big scoop of Ooey Gooey Butter Cake in their homemade waffle cone and it was amazing! The place itself is nice and colorful with beautiful accent walls. They have tables and chairs, so you can enjoy your ice cream there, and if you have little ones they have crayons and coloring pages for them to be entertained. I was really impressed by this place and most definitely recommend.

Best in KC, hands down. Flavors are creative, fun, and delicious. What more could you want?

Someday I need to check out some of the other local ice cream shops, but for now Betty Rae's is #1! Stopped by the Olathe location for the first time today because it was on my way home. I got lavender honey (one of my favs) with matcha. The matcha is good! The people working were friendly, but not overly. The store was clean & cute like their other locations.

No other ice cream even compares to Betty's, not within any of the places I have been in the US. The flavor, the creaminess, the staff....just out of this world! We enjoy the peanut butter, matcha, brown butter toasted pecan, honey lavender and the special at Easter with Andrés almonds. To die for! We always bring our family from out of town (to the original location before this one opened) and everyone says it's dreamy ice cream. They are good at letting you know ingredients for food allergies ( such as gluten free which is me!), they even offer dairy free options so everyone can partake. They make their own waffle cones, they smell divine but obviously I can not partake, they do offer GF sugar cones. Make this a stop, any of the locations, take home a few pints-you will not be disappointed.

Coldstone - WATCH OUT. Betty Rae's is locally owned and operated and they know their flavors! I have NEVER had ice cream like their goat cheese, apricot and walnut (phenomenal) or their mint chocolate chip that really tasted like clean, fresh mint. Their coffee and crème brûlée topped the charts. The peanut butter and the matcha came in next for me since we tried the flight. We intended to try the flavors and save some for enjoying later at home... fat chance! There was no way we were leaving that store with ice cream left over. LOL They also have pints to go! Live life, my friends, and enjoy some ice cream!

This is the best ice cream in the city. When I think about cookies and cream I think Betty Rae's. Don't be deterred by a line, it moved quickly. Not a ton of seats inside but, they turnover relatively quickly. Take home a pint or 6 because there's guaranteed more than 1 flavor you're going to want!

I went on a chilly late Saturday afternoon, & fortunately for me, got in just before people started making their way in! (Maybe there was a soccer game since the sport complex is nearby and there were many kids)? Anyway, I digress. I tried three flavors: Thou Mayest Coffee, Lavender & Honey, and Crème Brûlée--i liked them all, but couldn't see myself eating too much of the Lavender and Honey one before I'd get sick of it. Don't let that fool you, though, it is surprisingly tasty! They have different sizes which I'm guessing are pretty standard for an ice cream shop, and they do offer a non-dairy/vegan option. Sadly, I didn't notice a gluten-free cone, but you could get in a non-edible plastic cup. Not too much seating, but that's okay, I wasn't planning on staying anyway. The young people who served me seemed nice and helpful. Not too busy when I got in, as mentioned, until I was pondering what to have, then it got busy. I can see this becoming a place I'd visit again.

Food: we got the $15 The Revolver flight. Our flavors chosen were: Vanilla bean, Honey Lavender, Thou Mayest Coffee, Creme Brûlée, Matcha, and Chamomile. Some thoughts on these flavors: Vanilla bean- BASIC Honey Lavender- strong flowery flavor (said to remind of an air freshener) Thou Mayest Coffee- for the coffee lovers Creme Brûlée- very sweet and caramel flavored Matcha- strong matcha flavor and not as sweet Chamomile- our FAVORITE. We liked the light hint of chamomile Service: the workers seemed very tired of scooping ice cream and were giving smaller and smaller scoops. Ambiance: no music, no vibes. For a grand opening, it was missing some key elements to wow the crowd. They did have some awesome promotions that day! But other than that, on a normal Sunday night there was a line out the door. We waited about 10 mins for our ice cream.

If you want flavorful ice cream no need to look any further. This location opened up today. The staff was overwhelmed but still efficient. The ice cream was delicious. I love the crème brûlée flavor. The hubby got himself a strawberry pint. The little one loves the s'mores flavor. The place was really busy but the long line moved fast. I'm so happy that we have this location close by. I can't wait to come back.

Ice cream is SO yummy! Creamy tasty delicious goodness. The two young men working were so nice- great customer service. I foresee this location being crazy busy as summer approaches. Definitely be back!

The ice cream flavors are amazing. The selection is very diverse and absolutely tremendous. The Razz and blue tastes like the fruit it's named after. The sweet butter base is scrumptious. If you love Ice Cream this is a must go to.

My review of the first Betty Rae's location started off with a rant. Credit to the lovely folks at BR's for solving item #3 on that rant: "I'm mad that Betty Rae's is across town from my house!" --Now, I have a location about 6 minutes away! Wooooo! To be honest, I'm a little scared of how often I'm going to find myself at this palace of INCREDIBLE, creamy, true-to-flavor ice cream! It might just be TOO CLOSE!! haha... This new outpost is tucked into a small strip center, just south of K-10 on Ridgeview. Super easy to get to! My first venture was on a Friday night, and let's just say that the word is already out - the place was jammed! Hungry ice-creamers filed down the counter, through the dining room and out the door...a good 20-deep. But, alas, isn't that a sign of something incredible? They were a bit understaffed for the rush we encountered, but the folks working at the time were doing an outstanding job of helping all us sweet-tooths as expediently as possible. They answered at least half-a-dozen questions from my two kiddos about "what-is-in-such-and-such-flavor", hooked us up and checked us out ASAP. Also, the dining room is of the size that feels very squished, very quickly. I'm sure that 98% of the week, it's perfectly fine...but, for Friday and Saturday (and super warm summer) nights, it's gonna be pretty tight. Niggles aside, the ice cream is (still!) on point. For the uninitiated, I believe that Betty Rae's hits the nail on the head better than any other cold-treat purveyor with their flavors. You want Peanut Butter? You get peanut butter. You want chocolate? You get true-to-form chocolate. I've never encountered another place that gets the flavors SO CLOSE to the real thing....but cold and sweet, of course! Still one of my faves, and now dangerously close to my part of town! Food = 6/5 Facility = 3/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 2/5 Value = 3/5

I am a big foodie. I was able to get a great Instagram post at this place. The ice cream had great aesthetic. The service helped me get the lighting right for my post and allowed my grandma to still get some sun so she wouldn't be cold. Thank you!

First time at Betty Rae's and it will be my last. I ordered a scoop of fudge brownie. It was the smallest scoop imaginable and cost $5! There were no brownies in the ice cream. It tasted ok but nothing better than the chocolate ice cream I can get at the grocery store.

There is ice cream... & then there is Betty Rae's. This is the best ice cream in the Kansas City area! The y have an array of different flavors and if you are adventurous you can mix and match to make the perfect ice cream experience. I often feel that ice cream places with a variety of flavors don't focus on making the traditional flavors tasty, but Betty Rae's has quality all around! The staff is nice and inviting at every location and I love the quirky photo booths and paintings on the walls. If you are in the mood for ice cream, it has to be Betty Rae's.

This ice cream shop is not very clean. Case containing ice cream isn't clean and employees were picking bit out of the ice cream in the case with their fingers. A bit surprised considering this business is highly rated.

Very good ice cream shop! Line out the door most nights should tell you something. They offer so many options for your dessert desire, that it's almost impossible not to find something for your sweet tooth! The shop itself is a little small, but it works. The service has never disappointed. Polite, friendly, and professional. They make their own waffle cones in house and you can watch them do it! That is personally my choice. Sample any flavor of ice cream as well. We always visit when we are in the area.

Excellent location with lots of great options for ice cream. The honey lavender is a top favorite for me, and I was glad to have a closer location to get it. The ambiance of this location is a not quite as good as the other one, and feels a bit more sterile. But the product and people working here are top notch!

Variety of flavors to select from. Carrot cake ice cream on an unseasonably warm autumn afternoon hits the spot! It tastes like a hunk of delicious carrot cake mushed together with rich, decadent ice cream. Scrumptious!! Good luck picking a single flavor to enjoy!

Delish! I e got the goat cheese with walnuts and it was so smooth and creamy. We also got the crème brûlée. It tasked just like it minus the crispy sugar bits. (Which would be a nice touch!

The owner of the location off of K-10 and Ridgeview is a sorry excuse of a man. I have always like Betty Rae's ice cream and it has traditionally been one of my favorites. I will never set foot in a Betty Rae's because of how poorly they are owned and managed. The day to day workers are great at their job, but the ownership has no morals or standards. 0/10 would not recommend for families, especially after soccer practice's/games.
