Betty Smith is a must visit if you are in Tokyo. The process is hands-on and the employees are friendly and very involved. You must make an appointment prior to arriving (usually days or weeks in advance) because it books up quickly and they don't overbook. They allow enough time for each customer to select their items and work with them to complete the process. Only one person in my party wanted jeans but they were gracious to allow all of us inside to watch the process and even let us interact as well. They also have purses and other items for sale besides jeans. Their jean material is top quality and they have an extensive selection besides blue jeans ( jean jackets, overalls, jean skirts, etc) and they also have a variety of sizes. The hello kitty jeans that we made were adorable!! I highly recommend this place!!

super fun experience if you wanna customize your own pair of jeans. super cool process, and the employees were all so fun and kind. i recommend making a reservation online because they don’t always take walk-ins.

The custom jeans workshop was one of the best things we did in Tokyo! Not only is the denim incredible quality - easily worth the price by itself without any customisation - the experience was so unique and cool. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and nice, and extremely accommodating given our lack of Japanese. If you're after a great souvenir in the form of a high quality product that will last a life time, I cannot recommend this enough!

If you have the time to do this, definitely do!! You need to book far in advanced, I booked on Klook (my code is YLNBTE for a US$5 discount). it is one of my favorite things l've done on my trip. the people are super nice and helpful with finding the perfect jeans, and they have a lot of different styles. I am a US women's 8-ish (29 waist, bigger bum and thighs, 5'8) and they had a ton of sizes and some were even too big for me. If you don’t find anything you like, they offer to refund you and you don’t have to do the experience. the length is also really good!! they let us take our time with finding the perfect buttons and patches, and it came with a tote bag. Jeans are super comfortable but they will rub off on stuff since it’s fresher denim! They warn you though and give wash instructions. thank you so much and 10000% recommend!!!

Lots of fun to decorate your own jeans. Jeans were quality denim with a great range of rivets buttons and badges. Also had a lot of denim accessories for sale. The staff were really kind and fun too.

This place is beginners friendly and the atmosphere is fun. There’s lots of different denim choices. Many different pants style and top options. They also have different options of styles for your denim choice to make it your own. The reservation is well worth it.

This place continues to be a go-to spot for tourists and there’s no harm in that. This family will give you a fun experience customizing your own pair of pants or jacket. The owner was even nice enough to help me fix the stitching on my favorite hat. Will definitely come back next year. Thanks so much!
