On a little prairie adventure, we had looked up places to eat and a few came up in Blaine Lake. I eat gluten free so checked out an ap I have for that, and Betty’s came up. Three of us stopped for lunch and what appears as a bit grungy highway gas station, has quite a funky road side diner within.
When you walk through to the diner you go back in time to a fun display of license plates, Hollywood movie posters - an old truck divides the dining room from kitchen cleverly. Gas station memorabilia is present. The menu has lots of options including some gluten free buns, burgers and bread. It is not celiac friendly but gluten sensitive friendly. I had the “deadly burger” without the egg in a gf bun. It came with fries that had a coating and there is no dedicated fryer. I could hardly get my mouth around it but it was excellent. My hubby had Baba’s plate which featured cabbage rolls, sausage, pirogies and delicious fried onions. He said it was great. My cousin had fish and chips and a side salad - also very good food. Our handsome young-server was friendly, accommodating and very busy as the only server on the floor which was quite busy. The bathroom was tidy and fine.
I would recommend and say it is a great place to stop!
