I booked a table for 3 ladies for High Tea. We all absolutely loved our special afternoon in The Plantation Room. Thoroughly enjoyed the champagne. The whole set up, food display, incredible staff, live music entertainment, beautiful atmosphere. Such a huge variety of delicious savoury & sweet treats. Was well worth it and highly recommend to all.

I just had the most enjoyable afternoon at the Beverly Hills Sugar club High tea! The savouries and sweet selection were outstanding and with so many options to choose from , we were left feeling spoilt for choice! Everything was crafted to perfection! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the ambience was amazing. The saxophone player created a peaceful atmosphere to unwind. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!A special thank you to the chef, Hagashen and his team. Well done! The Beverly Hills standard remains and the high tea was great value for money! Well worth a visit!!

I returned to the Beverly Hills Hotel, Umhlanga Rocks, with the hope that things had improved since my last visit five years ago — sadly, nothing has changed. The hotel feels dated, worn, and in desperate need of a full refurbishment. What was once a flagship property now falls far below the standard expected of a five-star establishment.||The terrace immediately reflected this decline: half-dead plants, no ambience, and not a single guest making use of the space during a busy time of year. In sharp contrast, the Oyster Box next door was full, lively, and beautifully maintained — the difference was staggering.||The Christmas décor was another disappointment. It looked gaudy, mismatched, and rushed, with no sense of taste or cohesion.||The food echoed the same mediocrity. The Thai fish cakes were bland and arrived without the soy and ginger accompaniment listed on the menu. I had requested my salad dressing separately, which proved wise — it was thick, artificial, and far from fresh. When I asked for simple balsamic and olive oil instead, the “olive oil” that arrived was clearly sunflower or canola. At that point, raising it felt pointless.||Service lacked polish as well. Staff seemed insufficiently trained, inattentive, and disengaged — there was no evidence of pride in the hotel or its legacy.||It is deeply disappointing to see the Beverly Hills Hotel, once regarded as one of Sol Kerzner’s iconic jewels, fall into such decline. Until it undergoes a substantial renovation and complete retraining of staff, it should not be marketed as a five-star hotel. A three-star rating would be far more accurate.||I regretted coming back after my last experience, and this visit has confirmed it — I will not be returning.

Overrated hotel that’s showing its age. The location is good but the overall experience was average. There are pockets of good service especially at breakfast. However after we checked in, we sat on the terrace for lunch. We waited for over 20 minutes before anyone came to assist us. Short staffed and disinterested. I eventually had to get up from our table and find a staff member to take our order. The same experience at the bar downstairs when we were watching the rugby. Staff kept walking past our table without asking if we required extra drinks. We were ignored for an hour. I once again had to find someone to take our order. A long wait to check out too. I will not be staying here again.

Stopped here for an anniversary coffee with my partner and absolutely loved it. We ordered a chai latte and a red cappuccino, and both were so delicious and comforting. The setting was peaceful, romantic, and just perfect for a special moment together. Such a lovely spot to unwind and enjoy good company. Would definitely come here again!

This note of heartfelt gratitude is long overdue. The Beverly Hills Hotel is, without question, one of the most exceptional places in South Africa — not only for its breathtaking views, prime location right on the beach, and superb cuisine (the breakfast buffet is truly world-class!) but most of all, for its remarkable people.|We stayed with our mom for about ten days, and then again on and off throughout September and October — and every stay was unforgettable. Our first visit came at a difficult time, as we were travelling from the Transvaal after a funeral. We had planned to stop halfway, but by Bethlehem decided to push through to Umhlanga. It was a Friday evening, around 18:00, and Nel at Bookings was about to go home — yet she stayed to help us, found the last available room, and even arranged for maintenance to prepare a second disabled-access room for Mom. As we drove, the hotel team called to check we were safe and didn’t need assistance — that’s service on another level.|When we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and kindness. Our bags were whisked away, check-in was seamless, and the comfort and care we received made us decide to stay for another few days. During our stay, we were delighted to reconnect with Rox, an old favourite from Reception, who ensured everything was perfect and that Mom had everything she needed.|At breakfast, Zee and Laurence (with his huge, unforgettable smile!) made every morning brighter — their service and friendliness set the tone for the day. Mxolisi at the front door, thank you for always welcoming us so warmly. Special thanks also to Mishack, Sbongiseni, Thobeka, and Sam — you all contributed to an experience we will never forget.|We returned several times throughout September and October, and each stay felt like coming home. Thank you to every single member of staff — even those whose names we’ve forgotten — for your kindness, professionalism, and genuine care.|Finally, congratulations to the General Manager for leading such an exceptional team. It’s clear that everyone at the Beverly Hills loves what they do — and it shows in every detail.|This is far more than just a hotel; it’s a haven of warmth, excellence, and hospitality. We felt cherished, cared for, and part of the Beverly Hills family.|If you’re considering a stay — don’t hesitate. Book it. You’ll leave with your heart full and a smile that lasts long after you’ve gone. We will be returning again soon!

The place is now with a sea view, the restaurant with a pool is pleasing to the eye. The restaurant experience is nice and the staff is wonderful, food is great. This place is great for couples and family. I highly recommend this place, however the it is not cheap, but with high class service. Next time I will be coming for Mangeanani SPA.

Absolutely amazing experience with no complaints whatsoever. It was my honeymoon however I hadn't been able to inform them in advance but when they found out and while I was out, they set the room up in a very romantic setting. They set up the towels on the bed where they resembled swans with their heads put against each other creating a heart shape between the two necks. When you arrive you simply hand over your car key and they park it for you - when you want to leave you phone reception from your room and by the time you get there, your car is ready and waiting for you to simply step in and go. The food is amazing, the fruits sweet and ripe and the juice selection being extremely wide. Literally with what I started this off with - absolutely amazing experience with no complaints whatsoever!
