Stayed here overnight after flying in to Durban, before moving on with our tour. The staff were all really lovely and seemed genuinely surprised that we were only staying one night! |The hotel has a superb beachfront location, with direct access to the promenade from the swimming pool area. Our standard room had lovely sea views plus the lighthouse, and also the whalebone pier if we peered round the corner to our left.|The room itself was decent, if nowhere near as grand as the public areas. The bed was large but too hard for my back, and the pillows were too soft for both our tastes. The balcony was small but had enough room for two chairs and a tiny table. The bathroom was decent enough if slightly on the small side, but the shower was good. The towels were huge and very fluffy, and very unusually there were two large and one small each. It’s always nice to have a kettle for us Brits with our liking for tea! The room decor did look a bit tired, especially around the window.|Breakfast was excellent and I think even the fussiest would easily find something nice (although I don’t know about people with dietary needs such as gluten free). The kiwi jam was superb!|It was great to see water in glass bottles, but sadly there were small single use plastic bottles for toiletries. |I would definitely stay here again.
