The last at the front was super nice n friendly. I'm just stopping by but send like everyone talks to her. They do cash only but she allowed me to venmo her. I was super appreciative. She also said for me to pay her tomorrow but I let her know I'm from out of town. The sandwiches were the best part of the visit. They even let u order half sandwich. Great Deli thank you Breyer Deli for the amazing food!

Just a simple little place with great sandwiches. Counter service and a few tables inside and a few outside. In the middle of an industrial area but so worth the trip. We had a New Yorker and a club and both were great.

Heard this was a nice place to grab a sandwich. I live in North County San Diego so when I found myself near Beyer Deli, I took advantage and checked it out. I came here around 12:40 pm on a Friday afternoon. It was quite busy which was a nice sign. Asked for the most popular sandwiches, I ended up ordering the BP Special (Roast Beef, Turkey, Bacon, Melted Provolone, Crushed Red Pepper, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayo served on a toasted torta. Tons of meat and tons of flavor. I really liked the bread as well. Beyer Deli lived up to the hype and I would love to try different sandwiches in the future.

I’ve been wanting to try Beyer Deli for a long time. I happen to be in the area today and decided to stop in. I was greeted by the owner, Dena. Dena was very pleasant and welcoming, she went over the menu with me and explained it in detail. I decided to order three different sandwiches. I was beyond impressed with their food. I will gladly return again and give them my business! You are missing out if you haven’t tried this place.

The Italian sandwich was delicious, and I really liked the dressing they used. Just a heads-up, they only accept cash, so plan accordingly.

Great place to get a fresh, homemade sandwich. I tried two, the man handler and the pastrami Sandwich. Perfectly roasted bread, hot pastrami with the perfect portions! I highly recommend.

Ordered a breakfast burrito at 1:30 pm like a true degenerate. They said they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30, but will make an exception. I would die for this place. Affordable and delicious!

I have been there several times. Food and service are very good. Was impressed they show support for SDPD and Veterans also. Sandwiches are very generous ! Owner and his personal are always exceptional.

I had heard nothing but great things and needed to try it for myself! I arrived at 2:15 and they were definitely slowing down and getting ready to close for the day as it looked to be cleaned up on the inside. They have some tables and chairs for those eating there but I opted for to go. My partner got the California club and I got the raging Bull. I really enjoyed mine and liked the kick from the jalapeños and green Chiles, definitely more on the basic deli sandwich side but very good The chicken club was also good and it came with a full chicken breast, we both like a little more razzle dazzle with our sandwhiches but for the original deli vibe this did hit the spot! Seems like a family owned place which I love supporting and would definitely come back to try their sides or salads if I have the opportunity!

We order from here pretty frequently for office lunch. I am a huge fan of the tuna salad sandwich and the hot & delicious (without bacon). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, my order has now gotten mistaken for the second time and was substituted for a pastrami sandwich and a chicken salad. I was so disappointed. The pastrami is extremely fatty and rubbery in texture, and the chicken is also rubbery and oversalted. I ended up needing to throw it all out. I want to love this local deli as much as anyone else, but they need to keep orders straight ... How does one mistake tuna for pastrami? How do you mistake your own turkey sandwich for a chicken salad?

I didn't realize it at first, but when I went to place an order for four sandwiches, the lady at the counter was so kind and said she'd start getting everything ready while I ran to the bank. Her kindness and attitude honestly made my day - she was so patient and friendly the whole time. The sandwiches were good (I've had better, but they were still tasty), but the service was amazing. It's rare to see that kind of genuine customer care these days, and because of her, I'll definitely be coming back..

Cash only. This is usually a good indicator that the food will be something memorable. However, I was surprised to discover that it really is the power of one person who can make a business shine. I was greeted warmly and guided thoughtfully as a first-time customer. The Reuben is a must and the California (triple-stacked) is delightful. Not having enough cash, the kind lady behind the counter told me to pay the $8 additional when I was able to. I went to the nearest ATM while sandwiches were carefully crafted. On my return, a gentleman in front of me had also returned to pay off his "small debt" from a previous visit and same cash situation. Seems as though this occasionally happens and the business extends kindness and trust to every customer. Go for some sandwiches that you could not really make at home. Delicious! Return for the feeling of stepping into a warm and welcoming home where they remember your name. Recommended!!!

Beyer Deli has developed a reputation as one of the best delicatessens in SD County. In 2023, this business was ranked #4 on Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the US. With such a high distinction, I made a trip last month to Otay Mesa for a visit. The suite was located in the Three Flags Business Park. It didn't really stand out in the plaza as there was some signage and a few outside tables with canopies for seating. The inside could hold a couple of dozen customers. I had expected a larger operation, but this place was definitely a mom-and-pop shop. I counted 25 different deli sandwiches on the menu board. You could order some of them as a 1/2 sandwich for as cheap as $5.95. The most expensive ones were the triple deckers that cost a reasonable $14.95 each. Grilled cheese, quesadillas, submarines, soups, and salads were the other lunch fare categories. A separate list of breakfast foods and beverages was served between 8 and 10 am. I chose two items for my to-go order. The first was a 1/2 Roast Beef Deli Sandwich. Provolone and wheat were my cheese and bread selections respectively. The meat used was from Boar's Head which was pretty standard. This sandwich was decent for the price. The second was a New Yorker Specialty Sandwich. The ingredients were grilled pastrami and corned beef topped with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard on a torta. This item was packed with flavor from the grilled meats. It was well worth the $12.95 tag. A dill pickle spear came with each sandwich. It took about 15 minutes for the kitchen to prepare my order. The service was friendly, and the dining room was kept clean. I enjoyed my experience at Beyer Deli, however I didn't think it quite stacked up to a number four place to eat in the US.

Haven't been here in awhile, and since the child requested something to bring back home, why not, I was in the area. It's really good to know that the deli hasn't changed. Still has that family and love vibe, and it is still cash only. The service is unbeatable. Lines move quickly. Phones ring off the hook lol Overheard at the counter: Your total is ___. Customer: takes out card The lady at the counter: we don't take cards, it's cash only. Customers: rummaging around for any cash they have. Counter lady: don't worry, we got you! Just pay it back next time. Couple is confused for a whole minute, but grateful haha (tbh I would have paid for them) By the time I left at 1:15 the place was packed like sardines. Took the sammies home, and I could barely finish half of my South of the Border. Regardless of whether or not you are in the area, you have to experience this place at least once.

Truly a hidden gem! Just a reminder it's a cash only establishment but it's so worth it. If you are ever craving a saucy full of flavor cold cut, this is your place. Heavy on they support their troops and you can either eat inside or in the patio out front. Plenty of parking available as well. The service is top tier and the staff is very friendly, they make you feel like family.

This place is extra amazing. Their prices are legit. This place is cheaper and five million times better than Chubway. The sandwiches are huge, full of whatever toppings you desire. Everyone working here is super nice and they'll accommodate most reasonable requests you can come up with. My wife and I tend to show up here before taking our doggies to Silverwing Park. She really enjoys the tuna on wheat with sprouts. I've tried the BBQ beef, New Yorker, and I SWEAR they made me a toasted PB & J once but I may be incorrect. Either way, like I said they're accommodating as heck here. Their sandos are off the hook. It is cash only so be prepared!

Definitely worth all the flowers they are getting! I've seen Beyer Deli for years and never bothered to stop by. I was in the area this week and decided to give it a try after a lot of word-of-mouth recommendations and several local youtube food review videos... First and foremost, the service by Dina and Mike. Top notch and warm! I had heard all about how they make you feel like family, and this is 100% true! We started talking about the subs and ended up having a conversation about our favorite coffee spots in San Diego hahaha Now, the subs...OMG! The pictures just tell one part of the story. They are marvelous! (I was low key eyeing other people's orders) Generous deli meat portions, crisp lettuce, thin onions, the dressing...I showed the pics to a coworker of mine that's from NY and he wants to come down to try them asap! I'm coming back to try everything on the menu. Word of advice: This is a CASH ONLY establishment, so come prepared, and come hungry!

If you're in the neighborhood and want a deli sandwich, stop in. Decent sandwiches with no frills. Portion sizes were a little skimpy especially on the meats. A good sandwich, just not worth the price. Friendly staff. Be aware they are cash only, which I didn't realize until they order. There is a sign outside the entrance that is small and easily covered up. No mention of this policy on their website.

One of my fave dell's in the county . I use to live down the street from here but now live aways away so don't make it down this way very often. I had to reminisce and stop in for a couple sandwiches.Mike and Dina the owners are great was good seeing them again. I got two of my old fave the New Yorker and South Of The Border. Absolutely fantastic sandwiches and they're always consistently great here.

The people were not lying! This place is phenomenal. From the nicest staff to the freshest ingredients. There are no gimmicks to these sandwiches, they let the ingredients do the talking. Cant wait to come back to try more!

We also ordered #21 Philly cheesesteak sandwich with Grilled Roast beef bell pepper's, onion topped with melted provolone cheese , lettuce, tomato, Mayo, served on a grilled 8"French Roll. Both sandwiches were delicious but the New Yorker was the WINNER for us! The New Yorker is hands down the BEST pastrami sandwich we've had in the west coast! It was so good I'm craving one right now!!LOL Beyer Deli is a MUST try! The restaurant was very clean with friendly staff. There's indoor/outdoor seating. I wanted something quick because I had an appointment. I saw the positive reviews and was excitedto check it out. , when I walked in there happened to be a group of police enforcement arriving at the same time. I went up to the cashier asked for my order. She said she would take my payment after she attended to the police officers. She saw me take out my card and failed to tell me it was cash only. She did tell the police officers and luckily I overheard. Because of the time I didn't have time to wait and actually taste the sandwich, and since I couldn't return or pay I choose to leave as I didn't have cash on me.

My husband and I have been visiting this shop for 2 years and we've never been disappointed! Thank you so much to Dena and Mike and everyone at Beyer Deli for providing an amazing service and most important a welcoming smile ! Even on their busiest days they maintain great ethic and i can't wait to come back to try a new sandwich cause they're all good !!

Best pastrami sandwich I have ever eaten. The meat was so flavorful. The lady at the register was very friendly. Did not have to wait too long for the food.

The sandwiches were large. I had half a pastrami on sourdough and half a Hot and delicious which is turkey, avocado, and bacon on a soft roll. The sandwiches were made to order and both came out hot. After eating these I didn't eat for the rest of the day! They were each $12.95. Cash only, and worth every penny.

Almost hard to believe that a sandwich joint can get such fantastic reviews. I had to check it out even though it's not in my neighborhood. It was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded amazing and all of the Yelp photos looked amazing. We decided on the hot and tasty turkey avocado sandwich, and it was humongous with at least an entire avocado mashed into the sandwich! The torta bread was soft and not too thick like some can be. The other sandwich we tried was the Ruben and I think I preferred that one as it was also loaded with quality ingredients. We will definitely be going back to try the tuna melt next time and maybe the New Yorker. I sure wish I lived closer!

Stopped by for lunch today, had the pastrami! Was loaded and was a great tasting sandwich. The service was outstanding, it's great to have a place in the South Bay that knows the importance of good quality food and amazing service! Thank you!

Our first time at Beyer Deli located in the South Bay. The Deli is sort of hidden in an industrial area off the 905 freeway. After speaking with the owner, they have been around for 15yrs and still going strong! Parking can be a bit challenging, especially around lunch time. This seems to be a hot spot for Chula Vista PD as well as Border Patrol! What I noticed immediately was the owner knew practically everyone by first name. That speaks volume! They offer amazing sandwiches with the freshest ingredients from veggies to their choices of bread! They also offer sides such as cold salads, cookies, and chips. If in the area, definitely give this spot a try! We live in the opposite direction and we will take the drive and definitely be back to try more of the goodness they are dishing out!

Really good sandwiches and good variety. Always fresh and heaps of meat. Excellent breads. Owners are such friendly people and it feels l8ke going into Moms kitchen and hanging out with friends.

Best pastrami sandwich in San Diego! The only negative is that they close at 3:30pm. Definitely worth going out of your way.

The best deli in SD hands down. Only downside are it's hours. I want this place to be open til later in the day cause the only time I'm able to go is if I call in sick to work. The portions for the price you're paying is ridiculously huge and the quality of the meats, bread and veggies are next level. My mouth is still watering from the club sandwich. It's a small mom and pop shop that only accepts cash and the cashier will have conversations with anyone who walks in. You absolutely need to come here and make the trip.

After seeing this place ranked 4th on the top 100 in the US I had to give it a try. Surrounded by business tucked in the back you'll find this little spot. Cash only spot, pastrami, chips, couple of sodas runs $17.50. Came here for lunch midweek and wasn't busy at all, staff were friendly and helpful. Inside kept clean and about 5 tables outside for eating. Food was brought out to me maybe just because I said first time here, but that extra touch is nice when you are a new customer. Didn't wait too long for my meal. The pastrami sandwich was amazing; warm, juicy, breaded toasted, but still soft. This place has it down to a T and I'll definitely be back here.

I visited Beyer Deli recently for the first time and I can't believe I've never been here before! The California sandwich was huge couldn't even fit my mouth over it! Enough for two people to share, super fresh ingredients and soft bread! The owners were so nice and treated us right when we walked in! The line was constantly to the door. It is a smaller deli with seating inside and out! Will definitely come back!

This mom & pop deli shop is well deserving of its #4 spot on the Yelp Top 100 Places to eat for 2023! The staff was super friendly and treats everyone who walks through that door like family. Tons of options on the menu that all sounded appetizing. Sandwiches are large and the torta is soft & fresh fresh fresh. Delicious! My friend and I split the chicken club and got a cup of chili. Tons of avocado, chicken was juicy. Asked for 2 pickles because we were splitting and they gave us 2 each! Chili was too thick for my liking. Cash only and food took a while to come out - so if you're in a rush for lunch, might want to look elsewhere

Finally made it out to Beyer Deli! This place has been on my yelp list for quite some time! It's a little out of the way from my work, but I'm glad I made the trip! There's nothing more that I love than a good old fashion deli sandwich. Unfortunately, I live in a deli dessert (Eastlake/Bonita). Although there are a few chain sandwich shops around me, they don't come close to the old school, meat stacked, no frills deli where the sandwich does all the talking; Beyer Deli is that place. My buddy and I split an Italian sub and a Man Handler. The Man Handler was really good, pastrami, bacon, and coleslaw, on warm torta bread. My favorite though was the Italian sub. I love Italian subs and this one didn't let me down. Stacked with meats, cheese, onions, lettuce, and Italian dressing, it tasted exactly how it's supposed to. No way you're leaving here hungry. I get the feeling they eye ball their meat rather than weigh them out to keep cost down, which results in a masterpiece. The owners of the deli are super nice and friendly. They seem like really nice family oriented people who treat you like family when you're there. I'm glad to have found a spot that I work close enough to that serves great sandwiches. I will definitely be making a periodic trip out here to get my deli fix.

Attempted to tryout this place after reading so many good reviews. Knowing they have limited hours of operation, I planned my visit days in advance. Attempted going on a Wednesday @1pm...closed. Double checked their schedule again, and should be open, but nope. Pretty disappointing when you crave something and can't get it! Don't know if I'll make it back.

PASTRAMI FALLS FLAT IN AN OTHERWISE DELIGHTFUL DELI Memories of good times with co-workers often happened here. Located in South Bay San Diego. Very close to the 905 highway. I had not been here in a few years but the owner remembered me. She said, "Oh you used to come here on Fridays." Those were the days when I thought lunch meetings would bring the team together and help us become more productive. Either way, I learned a lot about leadership do's and dont's. My go to were the BLTA and Turkey and avocado sandwiches. Both were good. PASTRAMI SANDWICH HYPE Since there's been a lot of hype about the pastrami sandwiches, I decided to come here and try it. I love the smokey saltiness with juicy dill pickles. The sandwich was topped with more meat than fixins' -winning. I had two extra pickles - winning. And the toasted sourdough bread was perfect! All complemented with mesquite kettle chips. Oh how a fountain drink would top this off. But there were only cans so I drove 2 miles away to make sure I had a good fountain orange soda. Oh yes I'm serious. I want to dig in this. To my dismay, the pastrami was flat. Lean meat with no flavor. My infamous French grey sea couldn't save the flavor. Dratz. I will return back to what I know is delicious. I'm certain if I had taken my sandwich back they would have replaced it but I paid for what I ordered and that's part of the honor system. HIGH FIVES Service is still top notch. Because they love customers and they love serving us with delicious food. All the above, Food, Service and Ambiance Pastrami sandwich is my favorite. And the chili on winter months is the best.

The service here alone is 6/5. Super kind, friendly, personable, warm family vibes. The lady there is so sweet. She even quality checked, which shows they care. There are many dine in restaurants that don't even quality check the food anymore but they do at this sandwich shop. We ordered: Turkey BBR Wrap, New Yorker & California triple decker on sourdough minus the 3rd slice. The New Yorker was my favorite out of the 3. It was the most flavorful. Super tasty sandwich. The California was huuge. If you're suuuper hungry, definitely try one of the triple deckers. Really liked that all the sandwiches/wraps have a generous layer of each filling and that everything was very fresh. Love their motto "we serve those who serve". This is a place frequented by border patrol, police etc. Great sandwiches. Definitely recommend. But just know it's a cash only establishment.

This Deli is nestled in a business park. The food was delicious. We had the Reuben sandwich and the California. Both excellent choices. The service was great. Very friendly people.

Beyer Deli is in a small plaza. There's a small parking lot and a loading zone if you are ordering to go! This deli is a cute, homey, welcoming business. I grabbed lunch on a Wednesday and it was busy! However, service was was prompt. The service here is the best!! From overhearing the interactions with other customers, I can tell the business owner here is genuine and loves getting to talk to and serve her customers. I ordered the Man Handler. It was large and super filling, the Cole slaw was perfect in addition to the meat because it helped add some moisture to keep the sandwich from being too dry. I will definitely come again when I'm in the area!! A great small business with the best, most welcoming atmosphere(:

Awesome place owned by awesome people! I've been eating lunch here since they opened many years ago. The entire experience is excellent.
