The Wine Estate is a solid, easygoing stop if you’re in the area. The wines were good, and the overall experience to standard.
Important distinction: this was not the restaurant experience. Restaurant bookings are essential, but the wine tasting side is relaxed and walk-ins are welcome, which makes it a convenient option if you haven’t planned ahead. The tasting room is casual, the staff friendly, and there’s no pressure or formality.
Cool history note: Beyerskloof was founded by Beyers Truter, one of the key figures behind modern Pinotage, and the estate remains closely associated with championing South Africa’s signature red grape.
