I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about my recent adventure, the BEYOND LIMITS 9 Charity Expedition, which took place from the 2nd to the 12th of June 2025.
This incredible journey led me through the stunning and remote Makay Massif in Madagascar, and I must say, it was one of the toughest yet most meaningful experiences of my life. Honestly, I’m still not sure how I survived the expedition, but I did it! :)
It is hard to describe the natural beauty of the Makay region until you witness it yourself. It was truly a feast for the senses and a reminder of the incredible beauty our planet holds. Each day presented new challenges – from the scorching sun and tough terrain to sandy river crossings, steep climbs, and long hours on our feet. Despite the physical strain and exhaustion, none of us wanted to give up. The encouragement from each team member pushed us through together, lifting each other up at every step and forming bonds that I'll cherish forever.
A significant part of the journey was visiting local communities and witnessing the tough conditions many kids in Madagascar face. It was incredibly humbling and added a lot of depth to the expedition. Experiencing firsthand what the kids endure in the brick factories, working from 5 am to 4 pm daily, was hard to imagine and deeply moving. These encounters reminded us why we were there – not just to test our limits, but to make a real difference in the lives of others.
I also want to give a shout-out to BEYOND LIMITS all team leaders and the Madagascar local support team, including guide, chef, driver, porter, and nurse for their amazing organization and professionalism throughout the expedition. Special thanks to Scott, Kavita, Nicholas and Lanto for being great leaders during the journey and showing immense patience towards all the queries posted by the team. Big applause to Ryan (photographer) and Chou Rui (videographer) did an awesome job capturing every beautiful moment for us. And, of course, a big thanks to Valerie, our creative content writer, who constantly broadcast our stories during the expedition for more fund raising.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience. I'm grateful for the chance to have been part of such an inspiring journey.
