Beyoo Marina - Student Accommodation Barcelona

I lived here for 8 months. I enjoyed having my own room and bathroom. The keep the building maintained & there are daily cleanings of the shared kitchens. As well as weekly room cleanings. I really enjoyed having laundry & a gym on site. The reason why this is not a 5 star review is because sometimes the room cleaning changed days with no notice.

Overall an awesome place to live but they could invest in more washing machines and dryers with the prices they are charging, honestly it’s such a hassle timing it right to find an empty machine to do your laundry because there’s only 5 washers and 5 dryers for all the rooms; furthermore they could invest in more gym equipment and the upkeep of the play areas. Edit- I moved out after living at the place for 1 year, they did invest in new machines and now there’s 8 washers and dryers, they also renewed the facade of the buildings but the rent did climb up over 1000 euros for the regular room that I lived in

NOT SAFE. AVOID STAYING HERE. Especially if you are a woman. You will get sexually harassed by the older male construction workers Beyoo is allowing to move in here. Beyoo gaslighted me and said they are “all students” when the workers themselves have stated they are NOT students or affiliated with any school. As for the facilities, they are just plain bad. The kitchens are always gross, people leave trash and food out and steal your food and dishes. (See pictures) Beyoo likes to make the exterior of the buildings look good while neglecting routine maintenance. The showers will go from freezing cold to scalding hot within seconds and I have been burned several times. The cleaning times for our rooms are not regular as Beyoo stated they would be and cleaning staff gets angry if you are in the room on whatever random day they decide to come by. The cleaning people will literally throw bedding around your room and have knocked over many things in my room, including spilling my medication all over the floors that they don’t clean properly. The cleaning staff have literally broken things in my room. Also, you need to know the room’s door locks are battery operated so if your battery dies outside of the maintenance crew’s working hours, you are stuck outside your room. I wish I could leave zero stars. This place is so bad and they try to gaslight everyone into thinking it’s great and that the issues we’re bringing to them aren’t real. LOOK FOR HOUSING ELSEWHERE. NOT SAFE!

Seriously Avoid. Not a safe place to live, eSpecially as a woman. They let non students live here now but liE and try to say these 50-60+ year old crew of construction workers are somehow students. As for the facilities, the laundry room is gross and expensive. Your clothes will all smell like an ashtray after using them. The laundry machines also have automatic soap dispensing so you can’t use your own soap and the soap they force us to use has given some of us rashes and makes you itch. Other residents often steal your food and dishes from the kitchen and leave it disgusting. Beyoo will also charge everyone using the kitchen €10 if there’s a consistent mess problem, regardless of who actually made the mess. Save yourself from living in an unSafe and gross environment with management that liEs and try’s to cover problems instead of just fixing them. I have loved Barcelona so it’s very sad to live in a place like this.

Location, amenities are great. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is because so much has gone wrong in the 3 months I’ve been here. Starting with the room, there is definitely an issue with humidity when it's warmer out. My room was constantly wet. I know this issue was prevalent too, because two of my other friends living here had mold buildup on their clothes and walls. The ceiling in my bathroom leaked, causing water to drain out into my room after it leaked all night, which is also suspect for mold. Mid-October management switched the air to only heat, and there have been multiple times when I’ve returned to my room and the heat was blasting without my card in the reader, leaving my room at ~104F. This also happened in the kitchen multiple times. The water temperature in the shower varies, and gets scalding hot very quickly. It’s burned me a couple times. Onto the kitchen. They provide little to no kitchen utensils for a floor of ~12 people. We've had drainage issues multiple times, making it impossible to clean dishes. People often don't clean up after themselves at that. People steal food, and there's no accountability. The power went out and the fridge and freezer were without power for 12+ hours. Never got reimbursed for the food that was wasted, despite talking with management. As for other issues the elevators have broken 3-4 times sometimes for multiple days on end. The wifi has cut out multiple times, and it’s been out all day today. The vending machines are dysfunctional. Laundry costs 5.75€ per wash and dry, and there were 3 machines that were broken for the first month of stay. For the price, what’s advertised is a steal. However, the mold and burning water pose actual health threats to inhabitants.

AVOID LIVING HERE AT ALL COSTS!! I was promised free laundry, gym facilities, and weekly changing of my sheets. Half the machines in the gym are broken and people work out barefoot. The laundry is expensive and the machines ruined a bunch of my friends’ clothes. The rooms get cleaned weekly but sheets do not get changed. Many of my friends had black mold in their bathrooms, which was ignored when brought up to the facilities managers. Another person had bed bugs, and when we asked the staff why the whole residence wasn’t notified about the bed bugs, they denied that there was any bed bug issue. Beyoo messages the residents at least once a week that there is maintenance scheduled—wifi down for an entire day, no hot water, random maintenance issues that require workers to enter our rooms at random times throughout the day. Most of the people working at the front desk were unpleasant and unhelpful, the facade of the building was under construction the entire time I was living there, and on multiple occasions the fridges on my floor got unplugged, which forced us to throw away all the food inside them. We were told we would be compensated for the food we lost, but we never were. I know people who lived here in years par—it was a completely different place when it was TSH. The new management is horrible; I wish I could have lived across the street at Vita instead.

We use their classrooms to do painting workshops. Good lighting, convenient location

The best student accommodation in Barcelona ! The people at the front desk and the cafe next door are so kind and helpful. A very safe place and great location.
