Great location for restaurants, the night market, tours from the beach and tours into and around Stone town. We walked during the day and night and felt very safe. The 2 rooms were large, beds had mosquito nets, showers and bathroom was clean with good water pressure. The restaurant was simple and great - fast service, good prices, good food, the free breakfasts were as expected - filling and excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this boutique hotel. Thanks for your hospitality.

Great location in Stone town. Staff were very hospitable. I hurt my ankle and they found me ice for me. Very friendly, and managed to check us in early for no extra cost. Good sized room and bathroom. Would definitely use this hotel again

This review is at least 10 years late, but Google pics me took down memory lane when we visited the hotel's restaurant back in 2015, we preferred to eat here as opposed to the Double Tree Hotel we were staying that was about a few meters away (pity it's now closed) but the food was absolutely phenomenal, I vividly remember the lady chef (hopefully she's still there) served us like absolute royalty, we personally thanked her on our last day. I really hope they've maintained standards over the years

From the moment we walked in, this restaurant exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely amazing—especially the calamari, which was hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and unforgettable. But what truly made our experience special was the incredible staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, creating a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to Khadijah, who went above and beyond by helping us rock our baby to sleep so we could enjoy our meal without rushing. That kind of care is rare and deeply appreciated. Aminah, the supervisor, was also wonderfully attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. This place isn’t just about great food—it’s about genuine hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

AVOID THIS HOTEL||||We had a reservation for 2 rooms from our travel agent with confirmation from an online booking service with receipt and voucher. We arrived and they only had 1 room booked in their system. The room was unavailable as it was morning so we went on a tour. At our return they still said there was one room only but they could not give it to us as we were 4 people! A trainee was extremely difficult so we asked for the manager who was also not very accommodating but allowed us to move our luggage into one room while charging us for taxes for 4. The room had no towels, we asked for towels which they did not provide. We provided the confirmation of payment and voucher and went for a walk. ||At our return at 9pm, we still had no towels and no second room. They were very rude and unhelpful. The hotel was empty.||The room we got was moldy and stuffy. We booked a second room in an hotel nearby called Maru Maru which which was a lot better and cheaper||Avoid this hotel

Great location in Stonetown but that’s it. The rooms, food and amenities are unremarkable. No elevator so if you have limited mobility, do not stay here. Lots of stairs.

No hot water on either morning of a 2-day stay. Complained to front desk twice after 1st day; was told it was fixed, but still no hot water the second day. Lovely staff; wonderful location.

We stayed at the room downstairs, the bathroom configuration does not provide privacy. Reception staff, restaurant staff very friendly and helpful.
