A look at how 7 different cultures around the world enjoy their tea - SilverKris

"A beloved eatery in Kampong Glam known for its solid rendition of masala chai: robust black tea brewed with aromatic spices such as cardamom, cinnamon and ginger, finished with milk and sugar for a warm, spiced comfort drink." - Rachel Eva Lim

❤️ Food sharing IG @ jkgourmets 😋 美食分享尽在 IG @ jkgourmets If you loved Malay culture with touched of mix local and middle east fusion culture, this Kampung Glam or unique Malay Village vicinity is your choice. Within 1 km radius, you will able to enjoy local Malay foods and culture. This Teh Tarik or in English, it means Pulled Milk Tea. A small corner drink stall was just opposite of popular famous Kampung Glam Cafe. Not many seats available, so usually customers order and take away. First time here, decided to order their popular pulled tea or Tea Tarik in ice. Usually I will order less sweetness, but I simply forgot to mention to shop owner or the tea maker, but fortunately, the Teh Tarik Ice sweetness was very well balance and with great Celon Tea flavours. Still able to taste the tea aroma. Slight pulled effects, can be better if they do it cup by cup. Surprisingly their take away curry puff was very delicious too, price was not cheap but acceptable and affordable. I do recommend to all new comers who loved to try Malay foods and it flavours. Just try it. 🤗

Bhai Sarbat SG serves the BEST tea sarbat I have ever tasted in my life — no competition. The tea is rich, smooth, perfectly pulled, and full of deep flavour that hits you from the very first sip. It has that perfect balance of sweetness, aroma, and creaminess that keeps you craving more. I’ve been drinking here again and again, and every cup is consistently amazing. This is the kind of tea that becomes your addiction in the best way possible. The stall has an energetic, lively atmosphere and a true kampung-style charm that makes the whole experience even better. You feel the culture, the warmth, and the authenticity the moment you arrive. The team behind the counter is fast, friendly, and skilled — you can literally see the passion in the way they pull the tea. The location is great too, right in the heart of Kampong Glam with strong Arab vibes, night ambience, and a vibrant crowd that makes enjoying your tea here feel special every single time. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this is a MUST-VISIT spot. If you want REAL flavour, authentic vibes, and the most iconic tea sarbat in Singapore, Bhai Sarbat SG is unbeatable. Once you try it, you’ll understand why people keep coming back — just like me.

Nice place to have a pit stop if you are in this area visiting the iconic Sultan Mosque. They serve traditional hot/cold local favourite beverages and also have some snacks such as curry puffs. It’s alfresco seating.

A must to buy if you are looking for quick drinks. I always does takeout so never really know how it feels to stay and drink. The Teh Tarik is superb but it lacks cashless payment.

This stall used to be a legendary and quirky hole in the wall kind of place serving teh terik (pulled tea). With the new owners, it is now a normal drink stall selling the same product but without much of the ‘pulling’ and served in a disposable cup 😅. To be honest, the tea was quite good and in quite a large cup at $1.60, but this is also available in other parts of Kampong Glam and rest of Singapore. If you are looking for a unique experience, you can totally skip this soul-less place.

Just tried Bhai Sarbat's Iced Tea last weekend. Sorry but the iced tea was too sweet to my liking. I could only taste the sugary sweetness to it while drinking it. In terms of service, I must say the one making the drink was friendly though. Just, I expected the tea was more milkier tastewise instead of sugary-sweet taste to it.

Teh Halia (ginger) was much better than the masala but both lukewarm. Kopi Halia wasn't bad and slightly hotter but the sugarcane and lemon was the winner for us. Which for us was not really the point of coming here. Worth trying once but not a must do again sadly. You can request with or without ice. Longan juice with 5 fruits at the bottom was quite refreshing and can't really argue with the pricing. Nice enough staff but where do all those cups go? Lots of seating and tables on pavement but as ever for wheelchair users it would be very difficult due to the clutter and architecture.

For novelty tea this is a must. Very cool to see the how the tea is mix and not once did he spilt any. The service was very fast and friendly. Personally I don’t like how overly sweet the tea was, but for short gimmick yes I do love it.
