Pictures look fancier than what it actually is, that's why I am a bit disappointed. The rooms are not secluded or private, most of them are very visible or right next to each other. Open walls so bright and noisy a at 6.30 am. I stayed in a dorm and the mattress was thin and hard, bunk bed was so weak that it was shaking all night with normal body movements, very dirty from check in, a daily bathroom cleaning would be appreciated but it didn't happen as the same dead bugs and previous guest underwear were there before I arrived and after I left 3 days later. No lock on the door. No light or toilet paper in the toilet. They assigned me the top bed even though there was no one on the bottom bed. Not for light sleepers. Locations is good, walkable to two beaches and surrounded by nature. I think they put a lot of attention to the private rooms and the experience in the dorms is not good enough. Wifi didn't work every morning. It feels like camping but you payed for a room. I arrived during check in times and they made me wait because the guy from reception was having dinner. Good things: there is a Shala you can use on your own or join the classes everyday.

Such a lovely place! You are staying in a lush green environment with beautiful jungle sounds. There’s yoga class every morning, opportunity to book an Ayurveda massage or treatments and a cozy café where they serve delicious and fresh cooked foods, coffee, tea and chai. The staff is also very kind and helpful. Minor issue was the intense heavy rains for big parts of the day and night that caused some dripping in our room, but the team was on it to fix it immediately. The location is very close to the beach, town and has plenty other cafés and stores in its surroundings.

The place was simply amazing—peaceful, full of greenery, and had this earthy, thoughtful vibe that made the whole experience so refreshing. The property is filled with plants everywhere, which makes it feel like stepping into a natural retreat. Check-in was very smooth, and the staff were extremely helpful. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was the company of a lovely dog (unfortunately I don’t know his real name, but I called him Tommy). He was so well-behaved giving handshakes, following commands, and even sitting with us quietly throughout the night. What touched me the most was how disciplined he was around food never coming too close, just waiting patiently until we finished, and then asking for a little attention in the cutest way possible. Overall, this stay was a perfect mix of comfort, greenery, and warmth—both from the people and from our furry little friend. Truly an experience I’ll remember and recommend!

If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and laid-back South Goa monsoon stay (since I visited them during monsoon) amidst nature, birds, beautiful dogs, and friendly locals, Bhakti Kutir is the place for you. The individual huts are perfect for anyone seeking a private room with basic amenities, while dorms cater well to budget travellers. The property is lush with trees, shrubs, and flowers, making it a haven for insects, bugs, and other critters. If you’re allergic, easily startled, or not keen on the eco-stay experience, this may not be for you. But if you’re comfortable sharing your space with other living beings-small, big, flying, or crawling, this place will feel like paradise. Their kitchen serves delicious dishes, and a community kitchen is available if you prefer to cook your own meals. The staff is warm and welcoming, and you’ll also meet their two lovely dogs, Dali and Ella. Located in a quiet corner of Cancona, the hostel is within easy scooty ride distance to Palolem and Patnem beaches, with plenty of cafés and general stores nearby. If you’re looking to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself, Mother Nature, the sea, and Goa’s healing energy, I’d wholeheartedly recommend Bhakti Kutir

Such a serene place amidst nature. We went at the time of rains and it was just perfect. Your own little world away from the cities and pollution. Completely rejuvenated our bodies and souls. The cafe is just amazing. The people are even better. Their food and homemade wines will take your heart.

I stayed at Bhakti Kutir dormitory for 7 days (initially booked for 2 days, then extended 5 more days). It was an absolutely lovely experience! Can't believe how affordable the prices were. The atmosphere of the whole property is that of a tropical rainforest, with frogs, snails, and geckos making appearances in the rooms (I loved seeing them though!). There are also a few resident and visiting dogs and cats that will show you lots of love. The dorm and bathroom are spacious, with lockers and stands in the dorm. The added touch of mosquito nets really helped (don't forget mosquito repellent if you're coming here in monsoons!). There also is an attached common kitchen and balcony. Free high speed wifi was also available at the rooms and the restaurant. Although it was off-season, I made some lovely friends at the dorm, and I felt safe staying here as a female solo-traveller. The neighbourhood is also very safe and all the people are kind and helpful, especially the Bhakti Kutir staff. They also offer laundry services, rental vehicles, and taxis on request. Do not miss the massages at the Ayurveda centre - very relaxing and rejuvenating! The restaurant at Bhakti Kutir has very lovely vegan and vegetarian food (do try their homemade kombucha and wines!). It's a 5 min walking distance from Colomb beach, which connects into Palolem beach. 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to unwind and get some sound sleep nestled in the embrace of nature :)

I stayed here for a week at the end of April and I would highly recommend. The whole place is so beautiful and the rooms are very nicely decorated. It is in a great location with a five minute walk to the beach and a short walk to the shops. The place is very peaceful and has a sociable, relaxed atmosphere. They also have a beautiful yoga shala with a great yoga teacher. The food is so so good and very well priced. All of the staff are super friendly and welcoming too.

I visited Bhakti Kutir two years ago during the monsoon, but the experience stayed with me long enough to finally write this review. The property is marketed as rustic luxury, but it felt far too rural and difficult to navigate in the rain. The owner, Yasho, was extremely rude to me and dismissive, even telling me I was “too city to be volunteering.” As a solo woman, being placed in shared staff accommodation felt unsafe and inappropriate. I had no choice but to leave within a few days. Hopefully, they have made improvements by now.
