From the very first moment of contact, our experience with Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary was exceptional. Before our stay, communication with miss Cleven was outstanding, she thoughtfully helped us with every question and went above and beyond to make our honeymoon even more special.||We spent eight nights in total, six at the beginning and two at the end of our journey (late September to mid-October), and from start to finish, our stay was simply amazing. The hotel describes itself as a boutique retreat where staff and guests form one family, and that is exactly how we felt throughout our time here.||For our honeymoon, we received a wonderful upgrade to a Terrace Suite overlooking the valley and the monastery on the opposite hill. The room was bright, spacious, and serene, with beautiful open doors to the terrace, a large bathroom with two sinks, a lovely bathtub, and a perfect shower.||The spa is beyond anything we have ever experienced, truly world-class. Every day you can choose a different treatment, all included in your stay. We deeply enjoyed the massages, the hot-stone baths, and the traditional moxibustion therapy. On the first day, we had a consultation with the traditional medicine doctor, who immediately and accurately identified our physical tendencies and recommended the best treatments for us. It was such a unique and memorable experience.||During our stay, we explored Bhutan with our wonderful guide Pema and driver Namgay, and we could not have wished for a better duo. After just a day or two, we developed a warm and genuine connection with both of them, and now that we’re home, we truly miss their company. Together, we visited the Haa Valley (with a picnic near grazing cows and friendly dogs), the Chele La Pass, Paro Valley with the National Museum, and of course the Tiger’s Nest hike. We also enjoyed many delicious local meals at Pema and Namgay’s favorite restaurants, visited stunning temples, monasteries, and nunneries, and even attended the Tashichho Dzong festival in Thimphu. They even introduced us to the local sport of archery.||A heartfelt thank-you to everyone in the restaurant and service team, your warmth, attention, and care made every meal and moment feel special. And especially to Miss Soh, the General Manager during our stay, her authenticity and kindness made us feel truly part of the Sanctuary family. We also learned how to make our own momo's and chili cheese, something which we will both enjoy again and and again at home. ||We absolutely loved the food at the Spirit Sanctuary, both the Bhutanese, Indian and international cuisine, both at the hotel and during our excursions. Every meal felt like a celebration of local flavors and hospitality.||In short, this was one of the very best hotel experiences we have ever had. We stayed at other high-end properties in Bhutan as well, but none came close to the atmosphere, service, and sense of belonging we felt at the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary.||If you are planning a trip to Bhutan, this is the place to stay in Paro. It is not just a hotel, it’s a place that nourishes your mind, body, and soul, and welcomes you as part of its family.
