The restaurant is worth five stars. With no reservation we had to wait a bit and then sat near the kitchen. Some of the chairs were plush and very comfortable. Others were cold plastic. The interior is super high. Many breads came with the table fee. As did pate, which was a 7 out of 10 in my wife's pate book. The food was very good. We enjoyed the salmon with risotto, the salmon sushi plate, the gnocchi and the grilled octopus. There is a thorough wine menu and many cocktails and drinks. The service was good and we waited about 12% too long for our food.

Delicious food, very elegant, stylish restaurant on the water front. Service was extremely slow, which makes it very unattractive from my perspective. It took over an hour from the time we got our appetizer till the time we got our entree. And we were there on a Monday, when it wasn't very crowded.

What an amazing ambiance and fine, modern food coupled. Our dinner and wine were beautiful, surrounded by the smart Lisboan set. The service was phenomenal, nothing was left for want. The freshness of the fish was out of this world, and the cocktails we had before dinner were expertly prepared. Will definitely go again to sample more of the menu and perhaps try the Disco next door!

By far the best restaurant in Lisbon. Well located, this restaurant has the nicest view and layout, just by the river with a clean and modern decoration. The service was great, with staff being very attentive and helpful. Food was AMAZING. Pricy if compared to other Portuguese restaurants, but worth every cent! I will go back for sure when visiting Lisbon again. Down side: the toilets are disappointing for the height standard of the place.

What I enjoyed the must was the cocktails, just the best!. The food was also good, really liked the clams but the ox was a bit salty for me. Can't complain about anything else, drinks, attention, food. Sure would be back

I stayed in Alfama on a recent trip to Lisbon so Bica do Sapato was not a terrible walk. I felt safe walking there and back alone. - I was there fairly early on a Saturday evening by European standards but wanted to eat here and had read that it gets very busy. - The food was extraordinary. The green wine I chose was delicious. The staff was fantastic. - I will surely be back to Portugal and this will be on the list of places to dine again! Enjoy!

Loved the food, service and drinks. The figs with cheese to start were simply amazing (too bad it's seasonal :) ). Dessert was also excellent.

Very nice place, great food and staff! Try the wine with Alvarinho grape, you will love it.

Yelp
Always love coming back to this place, The regular restaurant is amazing, this particular time, went for brunch. For the lovers of Portuguese food, this is brunch heaven. The warm food is amazing, eggs are perfect! The desserts section is my happy place in the spread. Has everything from serradura, cheesecake, farófias, mini pastéis de nata, Berliners and sericaia. Serra cheese is in a bowl... we can take it with a spoon... Recommend to all!

Yelp
I was looking for a Restaurant in Lisbon for a special occasion: celebrating the engagement with my girlfriend! My plan was to propose to her in top of the old castle and to take her out for dinner afterwards! This restaurant was the perfect choice! I pre reserved a table for two from germany, a few weeks before our vacation. No problem with that! The restaurant is located a little bit outsite the city center directly at the bay, close to the cruise terminal. From the outsite it is a little bit inconspicuous, but from the inside: a design masterpiece! Things I have never seen before like walls with changing wallpapers. Everything is modern but in classic darker colors. I really liked the design. We had a table directly located at a giant window with a view over the bay. The service at this restaurant is incredible good, one of the best services I ever experienced! E.g. we watched a changing picture at the wall and wondered about the subtitles being in german. One of the waiters noticed that from the distance and came by to explain it to us in perfect english! That service continued through the entire evening! Awesome! Also the food is worth to mention! It was really well prepared and nicely decorated with a lot of details. Really excellent food and definitely worth the higher price. All in all it was the right choice for that kind of occasion, we had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed the evening.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Lisbon! The best of real Portuguese. By the river the ambience is unique. A good balance quality/ price. You cannot miss!

Yelp
Bica do Sapato is a very popular restaurant and it's advisable to book in advance. We ate at the fine dinning restaurant side with river views and a very intimate and cozy atmosphere. My friends suggested i order Polvo grelhado (Grilled Octopus) served on a bed of Spinarch and a few grilled golden potatoes. I was not disappointed, the octopus we well cooked, not rubbery tasting and the decorative sauces added to the balance of the flavors. We paired our food with Vale da Capucha White a wine from the Vhino Regional Lisboa. The service was amazing they went out of their way to make sure everything was explained to me and they even had me sample one of the dishes and they provided an English speaking waiter to relieve my friends of translating their menu. There was no room for dessert after the meal. After dinner we walked over to LUX which is close by.

Yelp
This is a good restaurant in Lisbon. Great decor and great atmosphere. The food was good, but the lamb didn't taste like lamb! I understand some people think that lamb should come with all kind of spices, but in my opinion, lamb already has its special flavor, so if someone is ordering lamb it should be pure lamb! Meat the way it is and flavor the way it is... just like some simple rack of lamb, doesn't need to be fancy... the fish was good!

Yelp
Well, karma was way off with this place. The food was pretty good and kitchen was very accommodating but the service was at best disjointed. For restaurant that specialized in fish, they had no sushi that evening. What with that? I had the scallops and the shrimp tempura. Tasty. My wife had the mushroom and asparagus risotto which was very good. However, the odd service distracted from the meal and the atmosphere was more like a diner than a restaurant. Kudos to the front desk who were very charming and helpful however that wouldn't convince me to go back.

Yelp
We have been visiting Lisbon for an extended weekend and looked for suitable dinner locations. This place was recommended to us, especially in combination with the name John Malkovich. We were 5 guys and had from duck pie to tuna steak and salmon carpaccio. Everything was just not well prepared and the taste was just awful. Quality of the tuna steak was pretty bad as well. Waiter didn't check on us if everything was good and when we mentioned that the food wasn't good, there was no reaction either. On top of this the service was horrible as well. Waiter wanted to take food orders and we didn't even had ordered drinks. All together there are much better places in Lisbon and will not try this place again.

Yelp
Excellent! I have eaten here 10 times and it has always been excellent. I can especially recommend the Lemon grass creme brûlée. It is sublime! The decor is special and, as long as there is no ship moored in front of the restaurant, the view of the Tejo is great. The service is impeccable. Well worth a detour to eat here

Yelp
Average at best. The place is nice but the food is only ok. We were 7 at the table. We ordered the tiger prawns and rissotto, the tuna, the portuguese sampler, soup and other recommended dishes. Out of the 7 people at the table the opinion varied from "this is really bad" to "guess this is ok". If you are traveling to Lisbon I would strongly recommend that you avoid this "tourist trap".

Yelp
This restaurant is situated right next to the Santa Apolónia train station, the oldest of Lisboa, and it is owned by John Malkovich among other famous people. I have been there once with my family for my first Japanese food experience. Although it hasn't got that traditional Japanese theme it has great interior design and the food sure is tasty! I highly recommend it! Although you must be prepared to spend around 45EUR per person.

Yelp
We had dinner here on a Saturday night. We had drinks before dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was fresh and presented well. Overall, however, we felt the experience was a bit overpriced for the value. We honestly had far better meals where we paid half of what we paid here. We don't often make it about the price but in this case it really stood out.

Yelp
A restaurant a bit away from the town centre with a great view and atmosphere. Chique but cozy. Good wine list and excellent selection of cocktails. The starters were very good, some state of the art and menu as such very good. Staff very attentive, friendly and professional.

Yelp
Really really good. We chose this restaurant for our 3 year anniversary dinner, while vacationing in Lisbon. It did not disappoint. Good wine, nice background music. I ordered the prosciutto with melon as an appetizer and my husband has been hooked on prosciutto ever since. Nice wine selection. Good views. Great apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
