A very informative small museum, providing lots of important information about the Anishinaabe history, fur trade, treaties between Ojibwe and Odawa tribes with the US government, removal policies, reservation lands, allotment, and the role of Agatha Biddle in Mackinac island community and the Mackinac Band. The museum is somewhat overlooked by tourists, compared to the Fort and should be promoted more to educate all visitors to the island about its pre-contact and colonial history.

Nice house with a good exhibit. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the women in business presentation.

one of the few places to actually acknowledge the betrayal of Natives by the US government, Michigan state officials, predatory businessowners, etc., while balancing the horrendous treatment with the ongoing modern-day existence of the local Odawa/Ojibwa populations e.g., they mention forced assimilation at boarding school AND play interview footage of a survivor/alumnus This place feels more indigenous-informed than probably any of the other Mackinac State Historic Parks sites, for which I am grateful. There's a nice little garden area out back.

Very fun for history fans, and pretty big. Lots of reading, so it would probably be boring for younger kids, but great for adults.

They have a little Native American museum. It was interesting and we learned about the Biddle House. There's a very friendly blacksmith here and he does sell his work for donations.

So glad we stopped! Blacksmith was extremely friendly and took the time to explain process. Definitely worth a look.

My family and I was very impressed with the Biddle House. I grew up in Michigan, and I learned more about indigenous history from this museum than I did in school. Thank you for doing this important work and educating us! We attended a talk on the Treaty of Washington while we were there that was given by a knowledgeable museum employee that was one of the highlights of our visit to the island. You will not regret going to support this museum.
