"Fresh Roasted Piquillo Peppers I've eaten possibly more pintxos than any American ever. And in all my small plates adventures, I have not found this dish anywhere except for Bidea Berri. I am a passionate omnivore, and vegetables get me more excited than anything. These Piquillo peppers are roasted in house (rather than taken out of jars), peeled, and doused in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. Simple and delicious."

This is the place to go for Jamon lovers. The owner takes real care and precision hand-cutting the jamon a true joy to watch. When in the Gros neighbourhood this is a must visit.

Went here to try the ham and found the place nearly empty - we soon found out why. The woman who ‘greeted’ us was so aggressively rude (I speak Spanish but despite this she made no effort to communicate with me, to the point that a kind local offered to intervene) that within a minute we’d decided to leave and eat elsewhere instead, with her shouting us out of the place as we left. Fortunately San Sebastián is not short of good food options served by more welcoming staff.

Old Southern style bar. Hand-cut jamón with toasted bread, a drop of typical olive oil from the south, just the colour could tell you the quality. There are some other pintxos, always good.

Completely average. You get what you pay for. A great place students but all around spanish people go everywhere and go out a lot. Every Thursday there is something called Pintxo Pote - You get a beer/win and a pintxo - 2 euro. It is really cheap and you get a lot for the money. Though this is something you can get every Thursday everywhere in San Sebastian.

Yelp
Meson Bidea Berri came highly recommended from a friend of ours who used to live and work in San Sebastian. We took her word and headed over there mid afternoon for a bit of a snack instead of part of our nightly pintxos crawl since it isn't in the Parte Vieja section of town where most of the well known pintxos bars are congregated together. We came upon the bar and found a group of local old men enjoying soccer on tv and munching on delicious looking pintxos. After glancing through the menu and seeing what looked good displayed, we ordered some roasted Piquillo Peppers, Jamon Iberico, a Bocadillo de Pringa (mini sandwich with roasted pork), and some boquerones (marinated white anchovies) with glasses of a chilled Txakoli Rose which was recommended to us by the sweet and friendly gal behind the bar. Everything was delicious and well-prepared and the overall atmosphere of the bar was friendly and convivial. I'd be hard pressed to say I preferred one thing over the other since everything we ordered was wonderful. However, a true Jamon IIberico is hard to beat anywhere in the world so I would say if you're there, make sure to order some because the nutty salty richness of that ham is truly hard to live up to. The girl who served us invited us back in the evening where it was supposed to be happy hour and we happily agreed to stop by. A great pintxos bar on the other side of town, Meson Bidea Berri is well worth trying out if you're in San Sebastian looking for good eats.

Yelp
A nice, friendly local spot. Food is good, but unexceptional by San Sebastian's high standards.
