This hostel is rundown. The shower doesn't drain, the bed has springs popping out into your back and everything feels just a little bit dirty no matter how much anyone might clean. The pots in the kitchen are so beat up you are probably getting some kind of metal poisoning if you cook too much here. ||||It can be very noisy. Whenever a car or motorbike goes by you hear and smell it. Traffic in the town dies down late at night at least. On the second night a family of three adults and one baby moved in upstairs and I had to feel with every footstep (actually vibrates), hear every conversation as if they are in the room, and hear every baby cry. ||||The man at the desk is helpful. The woman who only speaks Spanish is only worried about the money. And for the same money, you can get just about any other better private room in Filandia. Maybe the dorm beds are cheap enough that you don't care how yucky things are. I rented a private room with shared bathroom and then moved to another place where I had a better room with a private bathroom for the same price. Also quieter. Got no sleep at Bidea. Worst bed in Colombia so far.

This hostel is the best! It feels like a family. The house is super cute, has lots of plants, a cosy outdoor area, a cat and colorful dorms/rooms. The place is super cheap to stay and it has nice free breakfast included! Would recommend!

maybe it used to be a nice place, but the pictures are longer representing. there is no noise isolation, you can hear EVERYTHING in the hostel and ANYTHING on the street. there is almost no water pressure, so no hot water in the morning on upper floores, so if you take a private room you still need to use the public showers. the breakfast is bear bones - egg, bread, jam. when I told them I have Celiac and I can't have bread, they just give egg with nothing else. the hostel is poorly maintained and doesn't feel nice to be in.

Good hostel if you are not a traveling nomado worker. I leave this review for nomado worker. There are no place to work in the night. Unfortunately they are very strict about the curfew. We are not allowed to be in the common area after 11pm. It makes this place not an ideal hostel for nomad workers. I don't wanna work with a bright laptop in the dark dorm where people are already sleeping. It was a hard time when the receptionist kicked me out of common space and asked me to work in the room. Very sad.

This is a great cheap hostel in Filandia. Its extremely close to the center, there’s free delicious breakfast, and it’s thoughtfully priced for travelers. All the staff were really sweet. The kitchen is large, lots of shared space to make friends. I went back multiple times in my travels thru the area.

Great hostel, only 2 blocks from the main square. Wonderful staff. Angie is so lovable. Great volunteers, too. Filtered drinking water and breakfast included. Kitchen for guests to use. Hot showers. Met lots of nice travelers there. Easy to stay there a few days, with all the beautiful walks in the area. I recommend staying there instead of Salento, to walk Valle de Cocora. I far prefer Filandia to Salento. I'd definitely stay at Bidea Hostel again!

Super cozy Hostel with a living room, warm showers, breakfast and nice rooms for a very good price. Nice staff and it’s possible to rent bikes (but not very good bikes). We liked it here a lot.

Very economical, lovely building and staff but a few other downfalls! Kitchen very poorly equipped - most meals there was little to no cutlery to be found anywhere, several lights in the hostel broken, hot water very sporadic, no soundproofing. All signs contradictory so you never know what time breakfast is etc. Lovely bar with a tempting pizza and empanadas menu displayed but no one to cook it so you can’t order food - a simple sign would stop guests getting their hopes up! Two nights of our stay were super loud - on one there was some kind of party in the hostel and people left at 2:30am getting into cars which would suggest they weren’t hostel guests. I’m sure a few improvements would make this a great place to stay.
