By the numbers: What to know about these art events in March - SilverKris

"The 22nd edition of a major Sydney biennale (14 March–8 June) features 98 artists, creatives and collectives from as far afield as Nepal, Sudan and Ecuador; titled 'NIRIN'—meaning 'edge' in the Indigenous Wiradjuri language—the exhibition is framed to highlight Sydney’s expansive global outlook." - Delle Chan

amazingly knowledgeable and friendly staff but except for a few exhibits like ai wai wai's refugee, found it a bit too abstract this time. it was a shame though that i could not check out national gallery sydney.

space is good. it is all indoors. Only thing there is lound music of some digital artworks . can be a concern to anyone who is sensitive to loud noise/ music. But they can maybe have ear plugs on for protection and it might be good to go . great volunteering team effort . there is also cafe setup within the exhibition space. I tried the Pumpkin Soup for $12 and not worth the watery soup. Also the Focaccia was super cold. It was not heated/ warmed up before serving . at the most you can get your regular coffee which is decent.

A great way to experience art outside of the white cube. Always thought provoking and relevant

The Biennale at the the White Bay Power Station is a must see. The space is amazing and people friendly. I found the art installations the best of any of the many Biennale’s I have experienced in Sydney

The #Sydney #Bienale is on, and spread out across #Sydney. So far I've visited Cockatoo Island and the Contemporary Art Museum at Circular Quay. There's more displays of art - that which generates the "what's all that about?" response. Highlights include the work of #TurnerPrize nominated Scottish artist #JimLambie. He came into my shop - SMALL BRUSH WITH FAME - which would be ironic if he was a painter. "You imagine what you desire" is the theme of the #BOS14 - part of a direct quote by the illustrious English writer George Bernard Shaw - and forms part of another work by another Scottish artist Nathan Coley. The bienale is on until 9th June. Strongly recommend buying the Exhibition guide book from one of the vending machines onsite.

A good biannual event for Sydney - the artworks are always interesting and it provides an opportunity to visit venues which are otherwise closed to the public.
