My wife and I have stayed at Bienvenue twice now, in October 2017 and this past weekend, July 2019. We received very good service, especially on this recent visit. We had brought our bikes on this trip to Canada, and Carole and her husband went out of their way--we hadn't asked--to offer us a secure location to lock our bikes overnight. Then when we had gotten home, we realized we had left a computer charging cord in the room; after a quick call, it is being mailed back to us. Thanks!
The rooms are a bit sparse and worn, but they are comfortable. We stayed on a particularly hot weekend, and the small window AC could barely cool the room. And as other reviewers have noted, there is no breakfast offered any longer (on our previous stay, we received coupons for breakfast at one of two awesome local cafes).
A major draw for us is its location: the many great restaurants and cafes on Duluth, St. Denis, Rachel, and St. Laurent are all within a 10-15 minute walk, and all the major attractions are close while still staying on a street with locals.
