first place I tried in my first trip in cape town and last place I'll go in ever go back to,, the coloured till lady is not friendly, being tired is an excuse, she wasn't friendly ordered a steak gatsby but their gatsby wasn't good, it was dry and not inviting. marshmallow sponge sweet was good, if you people are tired and don't want employment close down the shop and stay at home. whats the point of having a food store that's not inviting, and terrible customer service. if i wanted to be served food by a angry person with attitude i could've stayed home and starved myself!!! definitely not tourist friendly and I wouldn't recommend!!

Authentic Cape-Malay cuisine, very friendly and helpful staff. No frills decor, it more about people and community, so don’t come too late!

Biesmiellah is a wonderful restaurant with the best Malay food I have tasted. The kids enjoyed the meals and we had a wonderful view of table mountain from our table. The owner "uncle Abdullah" personally came out and welcomed us and it felt great being in famous Bo-Kaap with it's colourful houses and rich history 🙌🥰

Very good value, nice food, friendly family run restaurant. Very quiet, so not much atmosphere, but lovely view nonetheless

We visited this place following a recommendation from our hotel. Excited to try Cape Malay food, we ordered the Bobotie alongside some seafood. The service was very odd - it seemed like we were inconveniencing the server. I don’t know if this was because Iftar had just finished (we were the only diners in the establishment and when we walked in we had to ask if it was even open) or if this is the usual experience. Nonetheless, we ordered, and while the dishes were okay, we both got stomach cramps and sickness the following couple of days. I’m not sure if it’s related to this place, but we did wonder if we just received some reheated leftovers to get us in and out as quickly as possible. Not to mention, when I asked for a specific drink the server said “don’t order that as I don’t know how to make it”… so again, I wonder if the usual chef was not working and we were just catered to on a whim. Disappointing as I really wanted to try something different and have a good experience while doing so.

I used to love enjoying Cape Malay foods every time I visited Cape Town (from overseas). I was there last year and again last week. The place could use an update on its table covers. The quality of their food has degraded (especially the rotis which were not flacky and light). The wait staff (last week ) consisted of one person who was run off his feet trying to keep up with customer orders while the owner seemed oblivious to what was happening. Overpriced for quality of food and atmosphere.

The starters of Samosas and pastries were delightful. I especially liked the veg samosas. I ordered veg curry and roti which was very tasty. My friends enjoyed the chicken curry and said it tasted fresh. Customer service was amazing too. Homely wholesome place!
