Discovering Cape Malay cuisine in Cape Town's Bo-Kaap neighbourhood - SilverKris

"A laid-back, halal Bo-Kaap eatery run by the Osman family and prized for its classic Cape Malay offerings such as koesisters and slow-cooked bredies; the place feels homely and is described as being built around Muslim beliefs and habits, giving diners a sense of being welcomed into a local household." - Sophie Baker

first place I tried in my first trip in cape town and last place I'll go in ever go back to,, the coloured till lady is not friendly, being tired is an excuse, she wasn't friendly ordered a steak gatsby but their gatsby wasn't good, it was dry and not inviting. marshmallow sponge sweet was good, if you people are tired and don't want employment close down the shop and stay at home. whats the point of having a food store that's not inviting, and terrible customer service. if i wanted to be served food by a angry person with attitude i could've stayed home and starved myself!!! definitely not tourist friendly and I wouldn't recommend!!

Meh, not exactly blown away with this joint: the Bobotie and Bredie were unexpectedly sweet and the daltjie(vada) was bit dry. Everything we ordered was bland

Authentic Cape-Malay cuisine, very friendly and helpful staff. No frills decor, it more about people and community, so don’t come too late!

Incredibly flavorful cape malay restaurant, I really enjoyed their Tomato Bredie which was so deliciously spiced and sweet with chunks of lamb that fell off the bone. The waitor and owner were both so kind and helpful. The views of table mountain were plentiful! Great neighborhood spot!

Can’t rate this place high enough! The auntie was so lovely and the food was amazing (make sure to get the chai and the mutton curry with roti). It’s very much a local place, no frills at all, but that’s how you know it’s all about the food. I went twice and would go a third time!

Biesmiellah is a wonderful restaurant with the best Malay food I have tasted. The kids enjoyed the meals and we had a wonderful view of table mountain from our table. The owner "uncle Abdullah" personally came out and welcomed us and it felt great being in famous Bo-Kaap with it's colourful houses and rich history 🙌🥰

Disappointed in this restaurant. The waiters need training, they need to be more professional, you don't look out the window while taking an order. The dishes were satisfactory, atmosphere is very informal. Just a few aspects and the experience could be so much better.

Lovely little restaurant in the Bo Kaap surrounded with the tradition of Cape Malay food and heritage buildings.
