Bought my son a backpack and a water bottle. as we're checking out some tall skinny guy comes and very rudely takes the backpack from my son and starts going through the pockets to make sure we weren't stealing. Doesn't say anything, doesn't even acknowledge us, just treats us like he knows we are criminals and must be stealing. Just an embarrassing experience. I would advise people to go to Dick's instead

The store is very clean. I was helped right away, and all my questions were answered. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful! I definitely recommend this store.

There are always friendly employees here. Prices are going to be higher than most places though. I like their deals when the shoes go on sale, especially New Balance running shoes. Their sales flyer sometimes has good deals.

Great prices, better than an average Acadmey Sport and Outdoors. Was impressed with the selection, but the employees seemed uninterested in helping us. They were also out of stock on the bench press I wanted which was on sale at the time. Overall had a pretty good experience, just really wanted that piece of equipment!

Went in looking to buy some comfortable Sketcher shoes. The associate in the shoe department was friendly enough, but didn't go out of his way to help me. After finding my shoes, I proceeded to the check out lane. I was pleasantly surprised to find a friendly associate at the register with a great personality. She more than made up for the shoe associate and made me feel like a valued customer.

They have huge sales flyers with great savings but they have horrible customer service so I don't see how they stay open. You walk in your flat-out ignored, you say hello to someone who works there they look the other way and run as fast as they can towards the back of the store and disappear. I won't be going back. 2/11/23 I went in with a friend and finally one person asked if I needed help but didn't really hang around long to see if I would say anything. Another young man came over found something I needed went back and got it for me and was very pleasant

Worst of the worst. They sell stock going out of production and broken tools so you'll come pay more. I called them out on it and raul tried making a false police report but I told him he's on camera and that phone hung up REAL QUICK lol then their resident idiot named jesus challenged me to a fight. However, jesus called the cops, raul didn't press charges cus he knows how old timers do in jail lol. Shop at dicks, or order online. Big 5 is garbage.

They had everything I needed. Tennis balls and energy gels. Tennis balls sounds easy, but many places are out. Much better selection than Academy Sports. Prices were good too. The store was a little difficult to navigate because there were no signs pointing out where things are. There was a selection for any sport you can think of. I just didn't spend a lot of time due to a time constraint. I will be back for sure.

I don't care what I come to this store looking for but they always seem to have it. From lanterns for camping, work gloves for labor, and even pepper spray/guns. The last time I was here was to buy a jersey as a last minute Christmas gift. I'm not super into sports but this place makes me want to try them all out.

I am happy with my experience at this store, I was assisted by a Alejandro who did an excellent job of selling. Since my initial purchase I have returned to purchase more items and I will continue to purchase items there at this store. Great job!!

At this time: the staff from this location are false advertising their products to have you purchase items, equipment, machines etc. to scam you due to the unfortunate situation with COVID-19. Nothing can be returned until after 31 May. That being said, my husband and I purchased a weightlifting bench after being told the set was on sale due to it not being able to sell. I even questioned it since the box looked torn open, but the employee reassured us that it hadn't been opened As soon as we returned home we immediately tried to put it together. Right off the bat, there was breadsticks inside the box to include a wrapper from a feminine product. We inventoried the pieces and come to find out there were pieces missing and the packages for the item had been opened. I told my husband to grab the receipt and read the return policy--I knew there was something fishy about it all. Turns out, nothing can be returned for +30 days. I called the manager of that company and he was left speechless. Now I understand why that particular employee had been staring at us and quickly approached us. Extremely disappointing due to my husband and I always coming to this store. Can't wait to return this equipment in the exact same condition it was sold to us. Possibly getting a lawyer to file a lawsuit under bait and switch to make money during this time.

Coupons and ads are a hook. Most are not honored with some technicality. Example; product super bargain priced and coupon doesn't apply to super bargain priced items, but the key is the super bargain price was sticker next to the regular price, both were IDENTICAL. Once you get sliced, no matter how good the surgeon is, you are never the same. Inevitably, AGE dictates how long your body will last. Gifted Dr. Urrea cured my extremely painful meniscus tear in 2005, and I returned to him in SEP2014 for warranty repair after the same knee failed and I collapsed at work. Now, I don't particularly care about the walking, standing, sitting but I've GOTTA' pedal. Of course, this was scary for me, and Dr. Urrea's message was not comforting though he made it crystal clear to me: the (knee) joint is like a tire, it wears out and you are wearing yours from the inside out. I've replaced many, many (bicycle) tires and understood the message perfectly. He gave me some alternatives, none of which I liked, so I did what has become the norm, I went to the 'net for possible solutions. The best, of course, was to use certain additional stretches but I needed some additional equipment, specifically an Ace adjustable knee brace, a Harbinger medium cable (build my upper body strength), and an 18" firm foam roller for my CT band. The price was extremely reasonable, but the staff were exceptionally pleasant, professional, and courteous. Manager Candace went out of her way to ensure my purchases went well. This is a great store with fantastic personnel and answers. I've not pedaled for a week, following the recommended R(set)-I(ce)-C(compress)-E(legate) principle. I'm slowly getting back to pedaling, and anticipate full recovery soon. I'm just grateful Big 5 was available to assist me in this process!

Still go here for fitness stuff, not so much ammo anymore( after the big rush of 2013;) . They do have lots of fitness things. But this is a great place if you need running shores, hiking boots, etc. they have very sturdy shoes, look on the sales racks because you will find some great deals! Seriously, my son got some boots for $20, they are still with us a couple years later after some very strenuous hiking! Also, look online, they sometimes have a coupon. The fitness apparel is average price( average for the brand name stuff) but if you search around, you can find some pretty good stuff once again on the sake rack! This is also a place for a good jacket. You never know what will be on sale, so check every area of the store! It might be smaller than some of the others but you can't go wrong:)

Good prices. You basically pay for what you get. Customer service was horrible. I was in the store for 30 mins and no one talked to me.
