Big Apple Dive Resort

If you want a very qualified instructor and crew, this is the place. Dave York, the course director and instructor here, is top notch. Took me through my rescue course with ease. Very kind as well. Also the gear is well serviced and basically new if you need to rent or borrow some. The owner, Jonathan, is also very hospitable and if you need anything on the island he is a good guy to ask. The restaurant and bar are nice as well. Awesome jungle vibes. Thank you guys!

This place used to be nice and right on the water but things changed, they sold the bar on the water and it looks different now, cramped up.. However the staff remains wonderful, the cook the best there is, he will cook your food if you buy shrimp or something. The owner is rude to his staff, seems to be unhappy all the time for some reason and it is unfortunate because those are hard working Filipinos nice staff but what do I know I don't run a business.

Well, it’s not a homeless shelter. Pros: the toilet worked Cons: maids stole 10k from my bag. I guess Christmas will be great this year. States the only place they saw money was my bag and suitcase. You wouldn’t have known I had money in my bag unless you opened it. So why is a maid opening peoples personal bag. Plenty of other places to stay that won’t steal from you.

Review for the dive shop and restaurant. The restaurant has a very relax atmosphere and the food is good. Pizza is handmade which is very delicious. The price is reasonable and portion is big. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Dive shop: staff and instructor is very helpful and knowledgeable. They take good care of us. Offering great diving experience in Puerto Galera. The dive package is reasonably priced.

Lovely atmosphere set around the pool and tropical gardens, actually feels surprisingly natural and green. Although much smaller than the original Big Apple, the space is well used and very popular. We visited many times during our stay, and theres no doubt its the most reliable food in Sabang at a reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised by the quesadilla, way exceeding expectations. And all the other food we tried was good. Top marks to the staff, the girls work hard and the service was on point on every occasion. A much higher level of service than is the norm. Only thing to note is the coffee could be improved.

This review is only for the bar Great place to come play pool and get a drink. The staff are awesome and was a big reason to keep coming back Didn’t eat food or drink more then normal because no credit card machine It’s 2025. Time to accept credit cards So we ate at other places before coming there even though the food looked good

Spent 20 days at the Big Apple and enjoyed a 40 dive package at their resort- a beautiful oasis in central Sabang. You feel like you are waking up in the jungle everyday. Delicious, flavorful food from talented chefs. Wonderful staff who make you feel at home. Friendly owners who provide local recommendations. Clean, up to date accommodation with mini fridge. Strong starlink wifi throughout the resort. Superb full service dive shop. If macro and nudibranchs are your thing, dive with Kris. She is an excellent spotter! We saw 50+ species of nudibranch during our stay. I will miss Big Apple and cannot wait to be back.

The place is beautiful, but I had the soggiest Fish and Chips ever. The Gorgonzola and Bacon Pasta was tasty but way overcooked. Prices would be fair, but to add a 10% "kitchen fee" on top of the bill is totally ludicrous and greedy, particularly since the staff is paid starving salaries and this extra fee ends up in the owner's pocket. The portions were also the equivalent of our "children's fare". Also, my idea of romantic dining is not having a pool table with shrieking bar girls in the middle of the dining area. I'll never go back and would not recommend it to any of my friends.
