This Peaceful Island Has Wild Horses, Bald Eagles, and Bighorn Sheep—and It Neighbors Glacier National Park

"A convenient, camper-friendly state park unit on Flathead Lake often recommended as the easiest and most accessible nearby campground; because the island itself is day-use only, this site (and other surrounding campgrounds) serves as a practical overnight base, though reservations are advised during busy periods." - Anna Staropoli

Most of the sites are parallel with the lake shore so pretty easy to set up our trailer. Beautiful view. I did notice some bigger rigs with slide outs weren't able to extend them fully because your site is basically a wide spot on the road .

The camp ground views and water were AMAZING! The only reason it's not a 5 star is the camp site condition. We pulled our littlebpop up camper. The site was so uneven, our stabilizer jacks broke. It was pretty scary. I understand it's tough, but we would have appreciated knowing the condition of the terrain. Or the site should not have been listed as appropriate for a camper.

I’ve been to Flathead many times and have never been to this side. We usually go to Wayfarer’s, but we missed the booking window this year. So we came to Big Arm and I was so pleasantly impressed with the amenities and the campsites. Really lovely place!

Our state was excellent We were only there for two and a half days out of the five day weekend of the Memorial Day weekend But those don't have days were pretty nice the place was packed for a good reason Staff was very courteous restrooms were clean boat dock was excellent Fishing wasn't as great it was but we don't have any control over that Very nice area will be returning To that state park Frequently I highly recommend it for anybody wanting the Flathead Lake experience Veterans pay a discount For camping Also seniors I think it's very fitting the veterans pay less considering It's one The state can say thank you for what veterans have done

Gorgeous lake with many great fishing spots. Can't wait to come back for a couple days and add some shopping and dining out to our agenda in the nearby towns.

Fun little place to camp right on the water. The regular bathrooms, flush toilets, showers were closed and locked around 1st week of October for winter off-season. Pit toilets were available. The daily fee depends on what taxes you pay where and, age or military. Pay the iron ranger in off season. There was one really nice wheelchair site. Lots of wildlife.
