Big Bamboo Bayside

Tip: drive to the right when you hit the security booth. You can let them know you're going to Big Bamboo. Chill spot in the resort pool area to catch the sunset. Not crowded. Donya, the bartender, was helpful, friendly, and efficient. Gator bites and jerk fish tacos were ok. Wish there was more pico de gallo for the chips.

This is an incredible little on-property tiki bar and grill for Sailport. We stayed for 3 days and we had planned to uber out for food throughout our stay until we arrived and realized there was food within walking distance from our room. We had some drinks and chatted with the bartender Shelley, who was an absolute gem. We ended up not leaving the hotel once for anything other than the event we flew into town for because their food is honestly incredible for a little bayside hotel bar and grill. Their fish tacos are to die for and you MUST order a Miami vice with a floater on a hot day

We were staying at Sailport Waterfront Suites and found the Big Bamboo Bayside when we went down to use the pool. It is a nice poolside bar and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. It was nice to not even have to leave the resort for food and drinks. They were open early for breakfast and stayed open late for drinks. They also had TVs which was great for watching football and enjoying the pool. It was also a great spot to catch a beautiful sunset.

I stayed at the resort here. Staff was very friendly, food was fast, fresh and reasonably priced. Nice selection of adult beverages. They even jazzed up by 2 year olds apple juice by adding cherries and an umbrella

Big Bamboo Bayside is truly a hidden gem. I have eaten there several times now and have enjoyed I’ve ordered—the bayside kebab was yummy, the eggs and bacon breakfast was as well. And of course, the setting, surrounded by water, really makes it. It is no surprise that Big Bamboo Bayside was recently recognized as Tampa Bay’s Best Beach Restaurant, Best Beach Bar, and Best Beer Selection. I highly recommend.

Unexpectedly good food for lunch. There is a mandatory 20% tip on orders. Cute little shaded eating area with tables and bar area that overlook the pool. There can be a bit of a party atmosphere in the pool area that is not always family friendly as the language can be quite coarse at certain times of the day. The food and service however are quite good.

This poolside cafe is a hidden gem. Although it’s on the Sailport property, it is open to the public. The staff are incredibly friendly and hard-working. Great atmosphere. Love seeing regulars greeted with love. We had the chips and salsa, add guacamole. The salsa was okay, but the guacamole was tasty. Had the Caribbean Jerk tacos-so good, but yes they are spicy! Tropical burger and fries delicious. Had the conch fritters. Delicious. Also get the fruit cup side. Great value with a good mix of fruits. Breakfast- we had the bagel sandwich and the breakfast burrito. Really good.

This is the perfect spot to grab some food and drinks. Watch the sunset and enjoy! Be mindful this has patrons and guests of Sailport Hotel and Suites - people stay here and live here part time. Don’t be rude or crude to others. Let people enjoy their vacations. The bartender, Nicole, was absolutely amazing! She was kind and helpful, and even with a mad rush at 930pm she held her cool. Impressive! Drinks are average price and well made to order. Will return!

This place was very nice! Location sits off the water and over looks the pool area. Nicole was great! Since it was our first time visiting I asked what was most suggested and she even gave a recommendation which we enjoyed also. When I go back to Tampa we will return. The service was excellent The only thing that hit me by surprise was the hot sauce inside. I would've probably had it on the side versus on the burrito. either way it was still good

Excellent service. The lady behind the counter is cordial patient and a great multitasker. Whoever the cook is does a great job too first I was a little skeptical and I figured the food was just so-so. But it's actually good. The tacos are good, the fries are super yummy, the hamburger was amazing and the drinks are good as well. This place will make you not want to go anywhere else.

My favorite place to be when we travel to Florida to spend some time de-stressing! I Nikki & Shawnee are amazing!!! Food's always good and the fact that they remember you after 6 months to a year blows my mind!! Sailport is our home away from home and I can't wait to be back on the beach enjoying a Rum Runner! Don't forget the hour before sunset happy hour! Half price off their house drink!

So here's the deal. You won't find a lot of information on if this place is open to the public or not. Most of the reason I suspect is due to what your definition of "public" is. I've been here 4-5 times, I've been turned away 3 times consecutively now. I've been lead to believe by security that this hidden gem is only available to residents or Airbnb guests. I'm not sure on what planet extremely limiting your customer base is a good idea, but I'm also aware it might not be up to the owner of Big Bamboo, and the decision to do so fell on Sailport itself. Either way, it's a sad result. This is a great place with friendly bartenders and an awesome spot to watch the sunset. Open it up to locals, and it'll be perfect again. Edit #2 because I'm a man, I don't name call, I don't fire up the "entitled" word cannon like the owner here, nor do I tell people to "grow up". No matter how much he enjoys this, we're going to be sensitive that this is his livelihood and like I stated originally, aren't his rules. I DO see the blog post from 2022 on the website now about the resort rules, I had to scroll down to find it, but hey, IT IS THERE, he's is right. So I'll adjust the rating accordingly.

Came to the restaurant this morning, August 17, 2024 we got a breakfast came out to $42. I tipped the 13. The food was OK. Eggs was very watery and tastes like boxed eggs . The customer service was ok ( no energy) but I still tipped her 30% because I'm the type of guy, but she did make a nice bloody Mary, but the food was cooked with love .

The food was very good, the service was outstanding and they were very friendly. The Cuban sandwich was ridiculous, and the sunset views were amazing! Great beer selection also!

I had the Shrimp Po Boy. The shrimp was coated in a crispy and tasty seasoning, delicious! It was drizzled with a southwestern sauce. People were friendly and courteous. Poolside seating on the bay with a beautiful view. Highly recommend.

Ok, we usually stay away from 3.5 stars. But it was literally in front of our condo amd by the pool. What a pleasant surprise!!!!! We had a snack and drinks the first evening. Then breakfast. I'm writing this telling you it will be breakfast tomorrow too!!! We had conch fritters and a couple of jerk fish tacos. Both were great! For Breakfast I went with a sampler. Their prices are so affordable I didn't expect large portions. I was wrong!!!! Not only were the portions huge, the food was super hot and really damn good!!!!! The breakfast burrito was huge and packed with tasty fillings. My wife loved her Greek yogurt and fruit. The potato patties were amazing!!! Huge and so tasty. Hashbrowns but with so much more in them! I would drive here just for those! Staff was super friendly. Fast service. VERY affordable for the food Especially breakfast. Drinks were good. Not cheap but it is what it is. This place is great! Come try it!!!!

Had a great lunch here outside by the pool. Nice staff cute clean place! They also offer sunset happy hour starting an hour before sunset according to the sign. I had the big burger and a shrimp Caesar salad. Both keto style no bread or croutons. Two meals for me I took 1/2 to go for my flight! Salad was really big and fresh with awesome shrimp! The burger I ordered bunless keto style it was juicy and flavorful! There is music playing it's a nice place to sit outside keep in mind it's outside there is no AC however it is covered from the sun & rain.

Friendly service. Must be staying at Sailport resort to access Big Bamboo. Everything is outdoors by the pool.

I wanted to grab something quick before meeting up with friends. I walked from hotel across the street to this location. The spot is located in the pool area of and older resort. The waitress was extremely nice and my drink and food came out pretty quick. My tacos were seasoned well.

This is the poolside bar and grill at the Sailport Inn. Nice place for lunch. They claim to have the best Cuban sandwich in Tampa and they weren't wrong. Albeit pricey compared to other local joints, the sandwich was excellent. But be sure to get there early. I got the last one of the day. The drinks were very good and the bartender was very friendly. Sorry I didn't get her name. Not sure if you can get past the security guard at the gate if you're not staying there but it's worth a try. Definitely recommend this place.

The views are amazing...Get a drink and watch the sunset. Get some taco too! The staff is so friendly. Special shout out to Nicole at the bar. She remembered us from a year and a half ago without flinching. Even remembered that my kids love a good Arnold Palmer. The Hurricane drink is awesome. I look forward to returning to the condo and seeing this wonderful staff again!

Not me calling to ask if they had Turkey sausage and she replied we have it but they come on biscuits and I asked clarification because I want to make a burrito and she hung up in my face.

Excellent food and drink with outstanding (and hardworking) bartenders/hostess/servers wrapped into 1 amazing person. I was there several times when they were 'slammed'. I marveled at the efficiency, patience, and skill each of these (typically) women exhibited. Prices are very reasonable and the food, cooked from an attached trailer, is delicious. It can get loud from people enjoying themselves but plenty of outdoor places to enjoy your meal and drinks. I can't wait to return next February and hope each of the 4 wonderful women I met are still there.

Stumbled upon this slice of heaven last year. Have been counting the days until I was able to return. Literally booked a flight into Tampa before heading to Disney so I could have two nights at the Big Bamboo Bayside. Sunsets are magical, service is exceptional, food is just awesome, and drinks were delicious. My family is thrilled to be joining you in 4 days. Also, absolutely love your responses to the senseless negative reviews. Keep that up, the world needs more of it.

Amazing service and amazing drinks! Bartenders were super sweet and attentive remembered our names which is also a nice touch! It's one bartender who is working but worth the wait with how kind they are and not to mention drinks were strong and delicious! Highly recommend the Bloody Mary with a touch of candied bacon

First off service was outstanding! Secondly the setting an ambiance is hard to beat the place is right on the water with some of the best sunsets you can get! An last but not least the food was great an even better priced. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights great clean condo with super comfortable beds and a great view. The pool was clean and had a cute "chill" area with a beautiful sunset, fire pit, board walk and chairs to lay out on. The bartenders were SUPER NICE AND PATIENT and extremely helpful on telling us where to go and what to see. During the day it's a little crazy but at night more laid back vibe and music on the weekends. The drinks were great and the food was good! While we were here we had the nachos quesadilla (TWICE) the shrimp po'boy fruit cup and parfait. No complaints at all 100% recommend. Ps they have sunset half off drink of the day don't miss out.

Highly disappointed! I was recommended this restaurant by my colleagues. I drove 30 min across town to try it out and was told that I could not done in because I was not a resident: Apparently they are being sued because a non resident came in a few weeks ago and sat in a chair and it collapsed. As a result they are getting sued and no longer letting non residents dine. This is terrible customer service to enact such rules without a single piece of signage or mention on the company website, at the venue, or even on Yelp. I will make sure to tell the rest of my colleagues here to work the super bowl not to waste their time with this subpar establishment.

Awesome food at fair prices!!! Can't beat the amazing view or the friendly service!!! I'm a Rocky Point local, and this is my go-to spot for food & drinks!!!

Been coming here a few times! Can't say enough about the service and atmosphere! Nicole is the bartender and always very attentive and friendly! Food is awesome! Cheesesteak and the Cuban sandwich is the best! I rate this place 10 out of 5 stars!!

Our hotel room was whatever, but this place really made our vacation. Usually these restaurants attached to hotels try to gouge you, but not this place. Food was absolutely amazing, and will be the cheapest meals you eat while on vacation. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito and the fish tacos.

Very good food. Cheesesteak was very good and served hot, Cuban was very good also ....nice and convenient being located right by the pool....very good service as well.

The drinks are overpriced. The food was ok at best. Staff does not enforce masks on customers.

Stayed at Sailport with my fiancé for my birthday and went to this restaurant a few times for a quick bite. Great food, Nicole and Shannon were so nice and sweet!

Despite the mandatory mask law in Tampa not one member of the staff was wearing a mask. The gentleman wearing a name tag labeled "chef" had a mask on yesterday and today was cooking food without a mask. I understand it's hot but this is unacceptable. The authorities need to know that this business that is serving food to individuals is in violation.

The night Bartender does a good job juggling everyone. Seems like really hard work. Props to her Fish tacos are actually super good & the nachos are awesome

We visited on vacation for our first time to Tampa and had then best time. Nicole the bartender made the best drinks and gave us the best info about Tampa. Go visit Nicole. She is the #1 bartender! #welovenicole

Pros: Location(Poolside & bay view) Dog friendly Cons: Basic/average Went to grab a decent lunch and wasn't thrilled with the food menu. Drink menu was fairly large but I did not try any. Nothing was calling my name on the menu so decided to get some nachos because who doesn't like nachos? They were cool and nothing to talk about. Atmosphere was great in my opinion. A laid back easy going spot for vacationers but I would say it's not worth a second trip until food/menu is changed or you're just looking to hang and watch a sunset there maybe ?

This is an incredible hidden gem for locals to come have great food and drinks with a perfect view of the bay. The pool and deck are reserved for hotel guests but that's totally fine. The team who runs BBB is top notch and love talking to them. Very welcoming and look forward to visiting anytime I'm flying in or out with my local friends and family.

Great place. Very relaxing. Me and my wife stumbled on this place for lunch. It's tucked behind the Sailport Waterfront Resort, by the pool but you can park and come in to enjoy a little beach relaxation with a lovely view. The food was not bar food basics. We had a shrimp Po' Boy which was excellent. They cater mostly to resort guest, but welcome outsiders too. Just make the first right turn into the resort and you can park near the pool. Spaces are right near the cafe. They have a full bar and serve till 10pm. The waiter said they have a beautiful view of the sunset. I found the prices very reasonable and the wait staff quite friendly and efficient. The Po' Boy with fries was $12. Highly recommend.

We looked at the five stars and missed that it was only on one review. this is a really small place. Very limited menu. We wanted more so we had a couple drinks. Bar tender was really nice. Drinks were good. No beach but lots of water with four or five tables. It would be nice except the noise from the pool. Sunsets from HerI should be nice.

Horrible service.. The bartender was kind of aggressive. when I ask a question about the drink the Miami Vice drink was terrible and And when was told something about the drink. he yelled don't tell me what I put inside but I watched him put so much juice and only a little tiny shot in that big Drink. He was also aggressive towards color and polite towards whites. Giving us water drinks and even tip him when he was so rude

I was fortunate enough to make it right before sunset. It was chilly out but the view was amazing! The menu wasn't that great, but I did try the chips and I had the sunset special for $5! I would recommend eating before

Great place to come for sunsets. Tucked quietly behind Sailport hotel this place is a hidden gem. When you first look at it, you see a food truck but allow me to assure you the food that comes out is exceptional. Thank you to LACY ( our barmaid and server) she was fantastic at every corner. Whether it was topping off drinks or recommending food. I can honestly say I was blown away by this place. Can't wait to try breakfast in the morning. No doubt that will exceed my expectations.

Oh my God, Big Bamboo Bayside was exceptional. Menu, location, staff and ambiance are all the reasons why I enjoy this place. A dish that I guarantee you will definitely love is Shrimp Caesar Salad. Staff was polite and professional and pretty helpful. Thanks everyone!

Fun place to have a drink. In town for a volleyball tournament at the U of Tampa this place poppers up so the wife and I checked it out. Good food. Good drink. We like it!

Customer service was excellent; prices very reasonable. I enjoyed the tropical burger and my waitress was pleasant and helpful. Great location to sit and take in a view of the bay while having a quick bite to eat or enjoying some drinks.

This is a cute little restaurant and the food was just okay but it did seem like it was a hotel's snack shack from the location of it. It's in a condo complex and not a typical restaurant. The staff was very nice and it was cute however I felt misled after finding this place on Yelp.

0/10 would not recommend. Horrible atmosphere, bartender Nicole made us horrible drinks, none of the staff was properly wearing masks. Manager was un helpful in resolving issues. Food was over priced and custom orders came out wrong and out of temp. I kept seeing the manager checking out the bartenders. It was creepy. Never going again.

Best service I've had. The lady working there was so polite and did all the work up front at speedy and awesome service. I hope she sees this because I wanted to give her a big thank you. Awesome food, great service and great experience.

Very disappointed. Staying in resort. Pizza not too bad. Ordered a fish sandwich as well. VERY SALTY! I had my daughter try it because I don't do a lot of seasoning. She agreed. I called them back and ended up ordered a corn dog to replace it. Not only was the salty fish given a poor excuse, they did ok with the corn dog but no refund was given...the fish sandwich was 12.00 and the corn dog was 7. Thought I would have at least gotten the difference back...No
