First, the place obviously hasn't been updated since the 1980s, including the music they play. It started off as nostalgic, but grew old as the day went on. That wasn't the worst part though. We had a horrible experience with the staff. A ski instructor and director incorrectly accused my family of enrolling my twins in ski lessons too young and abruptly kicked them out an hour into their lesson in front of several people, and very rudely. We were with the Girl Scouts on a trip that split Girl Scouts throughout Jack Frost and Big Boulder that day, and my girls happen to be the only ones at that lesson at that time. They were old enough to be in the group lesson because of the connection to Girl Scouts (8yo and older for groups such as Girl Scouts). After several escalated, colorful words with staff lasting over a half hour letting them know they were wrong and the situation was unacceptable as my kids sat upset, scared, confused, cold and missing out on their fun, the staff reluctantly admitted they were completely wrong, but there was no apology. Now my children are scarred from the ordeal and forever will associate this with their first skiing experience. Dealing with management now to make it right has just been a nightmare, and has only involved lies from the staff covering up the true story of what happened. Big Boulder does not put the customers first, and they have some major issues with their staff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Obviously no one will be treated well if cute, little, eight-year-old Girl Scouts can be treated so poorly.
