Love it, love it, L.O.V.E - love it! The desire to attend a masquerade party with the finest looking, yet hopefully inexpensive mask, brought me to the Big Bubble. That was a few weeks ago. Now I'm one of their regular customers.
This big, bountiful shop has everything a budding crafter could want and the best part is it's all so cheap. Soooo very cheap. You really can't go wrong.
A few years ago one of the many Christmas craft courses I enrolled in was not cancelled due to lack of numbers. This in itself was a joy and gave me a real sense of elation. Finally, enough people want to embrace Christmas in the same crafty way I do!
The course taught me how to arrange flowers in a festive way and....joy of pure joys...how to make your own Christmas bonbons. Since then I've been a busy little elf come Christmas time.
So, I wanted to continue the festive cheer into early January. To New Years bonbons I turned. I thought I might pick up some curling ribbon at the Big Bubble...well, I was in for a New Years surprise! So many awesome trinkets I could put in the bonbons; miniature bottles of 'champagne' for blowing bubbles, little fairies and angels, novelty candles, stickers for all occasions, the list goes on.
And the best part? The price. Some of this stuff was 60 cents a pop. The most expensive of items were only a few dollars each. They even had some snaps left so I could make proper, gun powdered, scare the babies - bonbons. Woo hoo!
Now, I am not an overly crafty person by any stretch of the imagination but I do love all that glistens and shines. And this shop has very quickly captured my heart and imagination.
I became extremely elated by the shiny sequins selling for next to nothing. I promised myself this was the year for a glitzy Aussie Day flag outfit, complete with bright blue sequined trim.
Unfortunately, my inner procrastinator has shone through and the fabulous outfit lies tucked away in my imagination. Maybe next year.
I'm sure by then I would have surrendered to many more Big Bubble cravings and purchased oodles more shiny stuff for roughly 10 cents a metre. (the actual price of the higher end ribbon in store!)
