I hate to mark places down but I felt a bit misled by the 4.7 average star rating of this place. With that kind of rating, I was expecting to be blown away, but I was not. I feel that 4.2-4.4 would be a more appropriate average star rating overall. I'd rate the food itself at about 4.0. It was pretty good, but nothing really spectacular. The menu options, however, seem to have some unique and fun choices that were not quite for me. But ordering a traditional French Dip, I thought it was a little above-average and not much more. The ambience was only a slight bummer because there are no windows looking out into the lovely Park City, but otherwise it was clean inside. Service was good. It'd be annoying to go into more detail since 1. I'm not really a food critic, and 2. I'm currently just procrastinating my work by writing this review. So I'll wrap it up with this: If you want a French Dip and some fries and you're not really one of the financial elite in Park City, you should come here because it's a solid French Dip with some creative, youthful options. It's more affordable than some other places, and wont have the large crowds since it's on the north end of the street past all the tourist stuff.

Great staff. I went two times, and the staff was friendly and helpful both times. I went back twice for the pineapple soft serve. It's delicious. The lunch special was a good deal that included fries, or tots, drink, soft serve cone and sandwich. I love tots as an option over fries! Good flavor on the sandwich. The dipping sauce is not watered down, it has a nice consistency. There are quite a few creative flavor combinations to try. Nice, clean eating establishment. Not a long wait on a Saturday night, but it was busier than when I went for lunch. I would say it is quality food. I met either the owner or manager on my first visit. I wish this business lots of luck and think it's a very nice place i will visit frequently. They mentioned plans to expand in Salt Lake, too! I also found parking easily just outside their door both times.

We came in today, it was quiet, just a few people there which was good for us with 2 kids and our dog. I got the tots with the sriracha mayo, soy sauce, and pickled ginger. They were SO good! I also got the no buns salad with chicken instead of pork, best salad I've had in a long time. My husband got the Seoul'd Out sandwich, he scarfed it and said it was good, he especially liked the seasoning on the fries, all around it was great! Oh, we also got a scoop of the dairy free pineapple soft serve, that was really yummy too! Thank you for the tasty food and wonderful customer service!

Google
Good price for volume of food. I'm not a french dip expert but there was no cheese on the sandwich and i don't think the meat was freshly grilled. Au jus sauce was unusually thick as in highly viscous (not made from scratch maybe). None the less it was filling.

Google
This place is an absolute gem! Not only are the sandwiches delicious, but the owner is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. We stopped in for a bite and were warmly welcomed by her!! And the food? Incredible! Fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and a sandwich that hits the spot. You can tell they put a lot of care into what they do. If you’re looking for amazing food and even better hospitality, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

I'm not someone who obsesses about food, but after eating the “hot Tejano,” I'm now obsessed. I would fly to Salt Lake City just to eat this sandwich. The chili sauce was perfect! Please open a restaurant in Austin.

If you find yourself at the very tip top of Main Street, and you’re hungry, then you’ll enjoy Big Dipper Park City. We ordered a Seoul-ed Out Sandwich, and a Gluten Free and Bunless Salad. The names here are kinda off-the-wall and quirky. I’m more of a call-it-what-it-is kinda guy, but I won’t knock them for that. Preferences. The Seoul-ed Out Sandwich was good – a bit overwhelming though. So much flavor in every bite that I had to take breaks to drink water and cleanse my palate. But it had a good Korean flavor to it that I enjoyed. My wife ordered the salad (Gluten Free and Bunless Salad – what a name). I wouldn’t expect gluten or buns in my salad, but hey, I’m no salad connoisseur. She said it was great and she enjoyed it. I got no other details for you. Fine place to visit. Not cheap, but it won’t break the bank. Plus, you can walk all the way up Main Street to burn off the calories you’re about to eat.

During the Art show with so many options we settled on the Big Dipper. I have to say that the French dip was excellent. The rosemary au jus was very tasty. It looked like it was run by one person. He was quick to get the food ready. There was plenty of seating. It's a sandwich place, so I suspect most folks were dining elsewhere. But the sandwich was worth the stop.

Yelp
Five big, shining stars for the Big Dipper! Came in my first day for lunch in Park City, but it was soooooo tasty that I came back immediately the next day for lunch. Super fun names for sandwiches and salads- lots of great puns. I got the shrimply irresistible with clam chowder on day 1, then the grilled cheese turkey with tomato soup on day 2. Personally- I would recommend the shrimply! But you can't make a bad choice. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Ample seating inside.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, and we didn't think it was worth the uphill long walk. Place is very underwhelming inside and has no AC or even a fan. It's weird to eat in a 85 degrees room. It also looked very industrial, downstairs bathrooms had a weird storage closet to them and people were delivering food there. So the whole experience was a little off. We got a salad and a chicken sandwich. Food was very mediocre. Looking at the reviews we expected something much more decent.

Yelp
Fun spin on classic sandwiches. On a cold day, it was nice to have a hot and inventive sandwich. My husband had the "When I dip, you dip, we dip." ( I know you are singing and dancing now!) His sandwich was the spin on a French dip, and he devoured it and the fries it came with! Homemade cheese wiz? I mean that it next level. I had the "Find me dippin in the Club." It came with a creamy chicken soup for the dip/jus, and I appreciate their creativity! They are big sandwiches, so if you can agree on one, you could definitely share. Good location on Main Street so you can pop in during a shopping trip.

Yelp
Wow, it's 4th of July, the Main Street parade is happening and thank goodness the Big Dipper is open. My wife and I each had a sandwich which were both delicious, because of the dips! The restaurant is quiet and clean with friendly service. In the mood for a tasty sandwich? Try the Big Dipper.

Yelp
This place has a very interesting, unique sandwich, soup and salad menu. (With cute/quirky names to match.) I ordered the find me dippin' in da club. It was good, it had grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, Avocado, mayo white cheddar served with a side of creamy chicken soup for dipping. Get a fry and drink combo for $3 more. The fries were seasoned and plentiful, the fry sauce was good. The chicken was tasty, and good quality. The soup seemed to have a hint of lime, or something I'm not sure. A little different but I like the dipping aspect. Some sandwiches were topped with hot cheetos, yakisoba noodles, mint or had sides of stoneground mustard lager jus. Overall interesting!! The service was okay, plenty of seating. The restaurant was clean. I would try it again.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches and dipping sauce. Clean bathrooms too! Overall great experience. We will be back!

Yelp
Food looks great, shame I didn't get to try it. So are we open until 8:00 on fridays or not? Says that yall are open till 8 everywhere, including the website and the door itself. It would take you 2 minutes to change this. Drove in from north platte Nebraska today to get what would probably be a pretty good sandwich just to pay $10 for parking and find a sign on the door that says yall close at 7:00 on fridays. Just change the website and avoid the headache for many could be customers. Likely going to go spend $30 on a below average burger now. Thanks a lot big dipshitter!

Yelp
Came w a group of 11 and they were very accommodating, letting us put tables together and our orders still came out fairly quick. Lots of unique flavor combos, I like how they take inspirations from other dishes and turn it into a sandwich plus dip/soup. I got the Saigon sandwich, which was similar to a Vietnamese Banh Mi that came with a pho broth. It was okay, didn't really taste like an authentic banh mi and the broth was not like pho broth but it was still tasty. The tater tots were good, inspired by Japanese flavors which is unique. Overall, I would go again to try some other unique flavors.

Yelp
I love a good traditional French Dip (which they have!) and so I was excited to try Big Dipper. I got the Eight Oh Eight (Italian) which comes with a tomato soup dipper. I was really impressed with the bread - crunchy exterior and soft inside. Everything was very excellent - including the fries. Service was fast. Will be back to try the other sandwiches.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
It's an order at counter kinda place. Parties of 6 and more are charged a set tip amount. Service is very friendly and there's self serve water. I got the Saigon sandwich which is a banh mi dipped in pho broth and fries. Seemed kinda odd and I'm Vietnamese so I didn't have high expectations but it was actually super delicious. Meat was seasoned nicely, veggies made it spicy and bread was good. I do wish the veggies like the carrot and daikon were more pickled and maybe if the meat was a bit thicker but overall very good. Fries were delicious and I LOVE the sauce. It's so good. I also tried the french dip (#1) and the Seoul out and I really really enjoyed the Seoul out... maybe even over the Saigon, but the number one was just okay imo. The tater tots are PHENOMENAL probably top tater tot I've had. The one with spicy mayo was better than the nacho cheese one.

Yelp
Wow! This place is stellar! We tried the I Dip You Dip We Dip sandwich and the Diss Track salad. Both were delicious and we devoured them. Great portion sizes! Good variety of soda and alcoholic drink options. Get the seasoned fries - them and the dipping sauce is sooo good. Friendly service too!

Deborah A.

Yelp
Take the free trolley uphill to reach because it's at the end of the town area. We just had two truly excellent salads: the Diss Track with tender shaved beef and blue cheese and the dazed and confused with yellow lentils and various vegetables. Both truly excellent! I eat a lot of salads. The tater tots and sandwiches look amazing as well.
google avatar

YuJun L.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and place was pretty empty. Restrooms are downstairs The Asian tater tots were pretty good. Nice and crispy. The other tater tots we ordered that were loaded were a bit mushy and not as crispy. The #1 dipper sandwich was a bit salty, but flavor was decent The pho dipper sandwich was an okay banh mi sandwich with a semi flavored broth dipping soup. Thought it was very meh The free water tasted super funky, not sure what's up with it.

Yelp
Oh my, goodness! The food is perfectly created, seasoned, and executed. With an incredibly clean restaurant, friendly staff and good atmosphere, Big Dipper makes it easy to enjoy a meal here! Great bottled beverage selection, too! See you soon, Very picky eaters
google avatar

Summer O.

Yelp
Need lunch? Want local? 100% yes to Big Dipper! If you order your sandwich as a combo, you get fries, a drink, and a soft serve cone! I just love that! This is a family friendly restaurant. You wait in line to order at the counter, then you sit and wait for your number to be called. After dining, you bus your own table with trash located by the soda fountain. This location is a little small, so if it's hopping, you might have to wait for a seat but they turn over quick enough. And although these are sandwiches and you might think, "I don't want just a sandwich shop." This isn't your mama's kitchen, or Subway, or Jersey Mikes. These are dipping subs! The flavor combinations are magical and you dip them!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great sandwich spot after a hike up the "hill"!! Food was warm and filling. You order from the bar is it's on you to get your food. Nice chill vibe

Yelp
I generally try to refrain from reviewing places after only one visit, but given that I went to Big Dipper during a recent visit to Park City and the likelihood of returning in the near future is very low, I'm going to post this review as a one shot. I chose Big Dipper off of Yelp as (as of this writing) this establishment held about a 4.5 star rating, and we needed something good to eat. Needless to say, I was very happy with our pick! To start with, the menu isn't too intimidating as there's a reasonable but not overwhelming amount of choices. You get a good variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. There's also a bunch of different drinks, including some alcoholic choices. We went for a fairly late lunch on a weekday, off season so it was empty at the time, and service was very quick and extremely friendly. There were also two large television screens that were playing sports at the time. The food was fantastic and I really wish I could have tried at least four of the other sandwiches offered. We went with the Seoul-ed out (complimented with ramen dip), French fries, and the "Bososoku" tots. The sandwich was perfection, but be sure to utilize the included ramen dipping sauce. The fries and Big Dipper fry sauce are great, again... use the sauce! And the "Bososoku" tots were fantastic, I found that eating a piece of ginger with a tot or two makes it just right. As much as I'd love to return to Big Dipper, it likely won't be in the near future as I have no upcoming plans to visit Park City, but if I could, I'd be back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend that you check out Big Dipper!

Yelp
Absolutely obsessed with this place. They had the best sandwiches, and I loved the concept of sandwich and soup with every meal. Can't wait to return. The owners were super friendly and helpful, and I wish they had more locations
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Minimal seating but amazing food. The sandwiches are amazing, I have had the soups twice and not a big fan. LOVE The fries. Definitely visit again.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
This was worth the walk up the hill- for sure! Food was delicious, service quick and with a smile, ambiance was fun and casual! Loved watching the snow fall outside as I dipped into my sandwich and soup!

Nic A.

Yelp
I wish this sandwich shop was in my own backyard as I would eat here every week. We got two sandwiches-the #1 and the #3. One was a traditional Philly cheese style and the other was a bulgogi and kimchi sandwich. Absolutely delicious. We also got some loaded tots. Beyond the food, the service was fast and the owner/operator was very friendly.

The Best M.

Yelp
Best food in old town Park City. Service is top shelf by the owner/chef and his crew But the real stars are the fresh and delicious sandwiches--unstoppable. Don't sleep on this restaurant because it's got more original recipes than a lot of the same tired/same old restaurants surrounding. Been here twice in a couple of days and we had Saigon in Sixty Seconds (twice), Seoul'd Out, and the Philly cheesesteak- When You Dip I Dip, Bosozoku Tots plus 2 apple fritters. Going back again to work our way through the entire menu. Oh, sign up for the rewards program online too. If you are looking for something unique, this it!! BUT if you want the usual, try all the other over hyped, over priced places up and down the street.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Just wandering around the top of Main Street and saw this sandwich shop. I'm a sucker for Banh Mi sandwiches and their take on a French Dip Bahn Mi is delicious. Such a a good idea to dip a Banh Mi into Pho. I'll definitely get another and another. The fries were good too.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Very impressive! I wish I had more time so I could try them all. This is a nice twist on sandwiches. Each sandwich has a dipper created to match specifically to the already unique sandwiches. Highly recommend! Fast and Friendly service and the place was very clean.

Jane W.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of their food. Salad dressing didn't have flavor, French dip had minimal meat and the pecan maple bear claw was dried out.
google avatar

Kathy E.

Yelp
Unique sandwiches. Fries with dipping sauce are great. Well priced. Would definitely come again.
google avatar

Dana K.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE the menu item names - that is actually why we stopped by for lunch. Service was quick - your order at counter and return to counter to pick up food. Restaurant was cute, good music, and tv's to watch while eating. Food was tasty and unique - I took off one star because it was so pricey, but that is Park City for you.
google avatar

Alina S.

Yelp
Decent place but man expensive. Oh well no surprise. Okay to go there in a pinch if on Main.

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
It may have fewer reviews than other locations, but those sandwhiches!!!!! Tasty, fancy, delicious!!! I was so impressed. Fast to make, even faster to consume. Full hours later and great sides to boot. Keep em comin!!
google avatar

Elaine W.

Yelp
The concept of different types of dipping sandwiches is really cool and I think the flavors are there. Mostly everything we got however was super salty. We got a variety of things from clam chowder, pho, the #2 saigon sandwich and #9 shrimp poboy. The clam chowder looked pretty watery and the pho used the wrong noodles (really thin mifen noodles instead of regular pho noodles) as well as had pickled carrot/daikon in it?!Prices were pretty high too. Good if you're looking for something quick and easy but I do feel this place is a bit overhyped.
google avatar

Rich P.

Yelp
YUM and super personal service from the owner! Big bright HELLO, to greet each customer, and interesting menu
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Best sandwich spot in Park City! A great selection of different sandwiches with their own unique dipping sauces. Service was excellent!! Helpful friendly staff that offers a nice home town feel. Plenty of seating and a nice indoor atmosphere. P.S. Order a freshly made maple pecan apple fritter, you won't be disappointed!!

Sharona E.

Yelp
The food was delicious and very accommodating for substituting and customizing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant space is cozy. The online ordering process and pickup went very smoothly. There's even nearby 15 min parking for pickups.
google avatar

Farrah V.

Yelp
Food is so flavorful! We had the items below and they were delicious. The bread is definitely fresh and homemade. Almost considered getting the homemade cheese whiz on the side, but I am glad we didn't. It was perfect on the sandwich. The tots were packed with flavor, like everything else. Make sure to take a bite of ginger in each bite. So balanced! They also have very reasonably priced beer. Service was polite and efficient. We'll be back! #1 When - Dip, You Dip, We Dip #3 Seoul-ed Out Bososoku Tots

George E.

Yelp
We were on Main Street in Park City and looking for a great lunch spot. Several people on Main Street gave us suggestions and a lighter lunch sounded appealing. We chose the Big Dipper as their choices sounded intriguing and the yelp reviews were good. The owner / operator was manning the counter, prepping food and running the business. She is obviously a hard working individual. The restaurant is sleek, very clean, and at the top of Main Street. The bathroom is downstairs with a different layout. Looking over the menu there appeared to be many good choices and potential great flavor profiles. We ordered the Saigon in Sixty Seconds sandwich and the Dazed and Confused salad. The sandwich and salad came with sauces. There was a Thai peanut style sauce available for the spice coated fries. The fries were hot and crispy. The sandwich had roasted beef, liver pate, herb pickled veggies, bean sprouts and srirachi mayo wth a pho dipping sauce. I could not taste the pickled veggies and the sandwich was dry. I added the Thai peanut sauce for moisture. The combinations are good but more attention needs to be spent on developing more flavors inside the bread. The salad had a lot of great ingredients but again lacked a flavor that pushed it over the top. I was really rooting and excited with entering the Big Dipper. The food ingredients are there, but lack the refinement of great, memorable flavors. I was also put off by the female owner who upon delivery of our meal, TOLD us when we were done to bus our own table. I always do this but being told in a boosy tone did not sit well. I hope they do continue to refine the flavors and push this establishment to the top. The concept is spot on but it needs to be tweaked.

Yelp
This place is awesome. This is a stand in line and order type place. About ten tables. But it's easy. Here are some points. 1. Everything task so good. We came here a month ago. I left town for a few weeks and came right back to here. It's freaking good and we have tried a few different things. It's also super clean. And the staff is Friendly. I asked my wife what they could do better. So her is a request. Iced tea would be a real plus. Basically get off your tail and try it. Won't be disappointed

Ashley E.

Yelp
We went twice in 2 days and it was amazing. Very well priced for families and lots of options. Able to get kids ice cream and fries for less than $25!! They are also very friendly :)
google avatar

Jared C.

Yelp
Awesome sandwiches and I love the concept of a soup dip. Great location. Lots of food for your buck in the expensive landscape of Park City.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
In a good way, I totally got BEEF from Bear vibes from this place ... incredible roast beef sandwich and the owner (? I think) guy running the place totally gave Cousin (again, in a good way). The #1 (classic French dip) was absolutely delicious: the au jus was so flavorful, and the horseradish dip put it all over the top - YUM! Good amount of indoor seating, big menu of food and drink options

Deborah D.

Yelp
It's been too long... It's my husband's birthday, a friend is in town, and it's lunchtime. We don't want fancy / swanky, but don't want a regular ordinary boring sub shop chain either. Neither had been to Big Dipper, and both being lovers of great food, Big Dipper was my number one suggestion. Both friend and hubby wondered why they've "somehow missed this place" like it's a secret for only locals that they, locals, are just learning about. On the order: Tofu swarma - me Shrimply Irresistable - hubs Saigon in 60 Seconds - friend Tomato soup was the best ever! Hubby raved about clam chowder! Friend remarked how simple things -like a great bread -(and he mills his own flour) can make or break a sandwich. Loads of fries And an apple fritter. Best fritter around.

Nephi H.

Yelp
Amazing #5 on the menu. I would come here again. Not your normal sandwich shop. Excellent food. Ok. Done eating now and I need to up the review. Maybe one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. My taste buds are still firing off. Really really good. Very happy.
google avatar

Kathryn C.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday in August. There were 1 other families. You walk up and order and service was friendly. I got the Dazed and Confused salad with chicken. Chicken was well seasoned and flavorful and the salad was super fresh and delicious. Hubs got the #1 sandwich and really enjoyed it. Fries were fresh and crispy. Overall, very delicious!
google avatar

Jon D.

Yelp
Amazing! Got the standard #1 and it did not disappoint--they even have really good gluten free bread! (Not sure if the au jus is gf though..) It's an unassuming store front but honestly it was one of the best--if not the best sandwich--I've had in a long time. Fries and fry sauce were good too, a fun different take on the standard French fry taste.
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
I was really impressed with the variety of sandwich options at Big Dipper. I chose to go with the noodle dish (Mi Goreng) and I would definitely recommend. The flavors were great and the portion was huge. Everyone in my group was happy with their choices. This is a great option after a hike or skiing.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Was looking for a quick bite and a good sandwich on Main Street and feel blessed by the lunch Gods that we found Big Dipper. The pictures don't do the food justice, everything was so incredible! The Mi Goreng noodles was a stand out but truly both sandwiches were so enjoyable. The flavors are rich and bold, these are not boring sandwiches. Before I had even finished my meal I was texting friends to try Big Dipper asap. It really was a perfect meal!

Lauren D.

Yelp
Got the When I Dip You Dip. I loved the concept on the menu but honestly the first bite tasted like indigestion so I didn't go beyond that. It may have been the home made cheese whiz. Someone else in my party got the turkey and tomato soup and said it was the best sandwich of their life. Still a great experience but we were 50% fed.
google avatar

Ivey G.

Yelp
Love the sandwich options that are fun and unique. Everything was hot and fresh. Would definitely go back to try another sandwich
google avatar

Rosanne S.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Very friendly service. Food recommendations were great. A couple of large screen TVs in the dining area to watch while you eat.
google avatar

Robyne M.

Yelp
My favorite spot to have eaten in PC on a quick weekend trip. Sandwich was good alone, but took it up a fun interesting level with "dipping" soup that came with it. Thought it might be too busy to get in after a day of skiing, but walked right in and found a seat.
