Google
Fantastic beer, the atmosphere was awesome, and the owner or one of the owners who was there was incredibly helpful with local tips and advice for hiking. Pretty much everyone in there was friendly and helpful, and the good beer, wifi, and board games were just bonuses to boot!

Great beer, awesome staff, great neighborly vibe!! Great IPA and stout!

Good Beer, Nice People. My son gave me a gift card to Big Elm. An hour drive, but well worth it. Safe, curb-side pickup. Friendly staff confirmed that the 4 I chose were great choices. I'm definitely coming back after the vaccine! 9/17/2022 - stopped by again, while passing thru the Berkshires. Great beer and really nice staff - she gave me a cup of water for my thirsty pooch. I got 2 4pks and some probiotic soda. Again, great beer! 10/16/2022 - extending the outdoor season with Big Elm

Super cute place! Very clean! The bartender was awesome.. I forget his name.. but he only works on Thursday’s! Great selection of beers and ciders.. I opted for flights so I could try everything! Outside they have comfy rocking chairs on the porch. There’s cards and different games…

Also wonderful to go to the Big Elm tap room. Great beer, cool merch, good vibes. Nice to be able to bring the dog in.

We stopped here after a trip to the Norman Rockwell museum and honestly didn't expect the place to be so much fun. From the outside, it looks like a generic commercial building. On the inside, you are greeted by friendly staff, good beer, and even a Nintendo arcade game with all the classics loaded onto it. They appeared to be dog friendly and there was plenty of parking outside. There was also a food truck in the parking lot.

Google
Great beer and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would give it five stars but at times when you are trying to enjoy a favorite pint of beer you disturbed by unruly children running around and being loud.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped at Big Elm during our brewery crawl. Easy parking and friendly staff. My boyfriend got two rounds of flights and I got one of their delicious frozen lemonades. My only complaint was how hot it was in the brewery, we probably would've stayed longer if we could tolerate the heat. They had some snacks to purchase and a ton of merch. They also have a nice area for kids to play and nice clean bathrooms. My boyfriend loved the beer - said it was the best of the whole day. Check them out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Say you're poking around in Western, MA, maybe shopping at the Lee Outlets or exploring the stores in downtown Lee or Great Barrington. Here's the perfect way to make those enjoyable days even better. Why not include a stop at the Big Elm Brewery to your day? Its in nearby Sheffield, MA. Their Taproom is open with limited seating, and of course masks and social distancing are observed. Under COVID-19 state guidelines, you'll have to buy some sort of food item to drink there, but no worries - you can get hummus and carrots, an apple, or cheese and crackers for a buck or two. What I liked a lot about their beer selection is that they were not overly dependent on any single style. They went across the beer spectrum with a lager, an ale, an IPA, a DIPA, a stout, a pilsner, a NEIPA, and some hard seltzers. Truly something for everybody! I'm not a fan of the IPA family, so I sipped on an American Lager -it was light and very drinkable. My wife went for a glass of their Lavender Lemonade Hard Seltzer -I mooched a sip and liked it too. We found a table under one of the trees, marveled at their arrays of solar panels that power the brewery, drank our beverages and had a totally enjoyable time. And the packaged hummus and carrot snack was good too !

Yelp
Going home We stopped by for a very quick taste and buy. For our first time it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. Our server was awesome...great pours. Thx All the tastes were very good and true to taste. Going home to California I will miss Mass-eee beer. "Life can't get any better" That's my BF... I'm blessed

Yelp
Superb local brewery in the Bosom of the Berkshires, right off of Route 7 Their local beers are being seen in a wider radius and it will only be a matter of time before more and more folks are able to appreciate the vast and fine collection of Lager, Ale's, Session / IPA's and Stouts. Dog and family friendly, large bright open space with plenty of hi top seating. Keep watching as they branch out and thrive.

Yelp
Out of the 82 breweries Ive been to, Big Elm is the only one I come back to again and again to stock up on case loads.

Yelp
Great beer selections. Dog friendly too. So easy to find with a sign off the road. Loads of parking.

Yelp
Cheap but meh. I had a flight and none of the beers were special. They had no Northeast IPAs when i was in, which seems crazy, and the IPAs they did have were not very good. The Black IPA I had was my favorite, but the traditional IPA had very little hop, and either I got the wrong beer--though I confirmed, twice--or it was not very fresh...or I suppose it just was made with very little hops, because I got malt more than anything. It was super cheap, and the staff was nice, so there is that.

Yelp
Didn't get a chance to go on the brewery tour, just in for a quick tasting. And four samples for five bucks is a hell of a deal. Sure, the samples are well... sample sized. But did I mention the fact that it was five bucks? Tastes are obviously subjective, and I was really looking forward to the blueberry sour, but it wasn't very sour. The double IPA was my favorite, while the lager and stout were fine, but nothing to write home about. Nice staff, cute little place, and I bet the tour is fun.

Yelp
Great beer, friendly and welcoming staff. Dog and kid friendly. You can bring food in from local restaurants and eat at the taproom.

Yelp
Always an enjoyable stop on the way home. The beers never disappoint, especially the IPAs. Friendly environment and even more enjoyable on a beautiful day!

Yelp
If you like craft beers this is a must stop when visiting or passing through the Berkshire's. Check the web to see the offerings. Very nice staff. Ample parking and seating. look for the big solar panels array on the front lawn. About 7 miles south of the Great Barrington Tesla supercharger on Rt 7.

Yelp
Great little brewery in the middle of the Berkshires! Friendly staff, plenty of choices on tap and prices that make any beer snob smile. The tasting room is decorated with nostalgic beer paraphernalia, oak barrels and a great view into where the magic happens. A worthwhile stop for anyone interested in a tasty pint.

Yelp
Great brewery and staff. Flights were only $5 And the beer is delicious. I'd suggest the American ale, sofa king, pilsner and fat boy. Pretzels are delicious and they'll let you order delivery. A must try if in the area.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. The beers were great (I ended up taking home a 6-pack), service was friendly and pleasant, and they let us bring our dog inside, which was really awesome! It was a very welcoming atmosphere, and we ended up making a couple of friends. Great way to spend a couple of hours!

Yelp
I feel like every time we visit the taproom has been changed (for the better) in some way. This is a great thing and a sign of how popular Big Elm has become locally.

Yelp
I really like this place. I like how they have delivery menus on their wall, kids toys, barley bags for their lights and merchandise yet it's still large and comfortable. The customer service was awesome and the beers were a hit too. I'd come back here in an instant.

Yelp
Loving this brewery. First thing: when you pull up don't be confused by the lack of signage that says this isn't just a storage/office building that it's a brewery. The playground and lack of "enter" here signs threw me off. Second: The beer, I tried about 4 is free to sample (thank you), and there are beer tours (unplanned and whenever enough people show up). Third: The tour is short and sweet but personal. This is clearly a family process (there are play things next to the canning line, dogs roaming around), and it makes it a better experience. They use cans because they are more recyclable and because it's cheaper and more portable (Win-win-win). They also are a VEGAN beer, which isn't too hard to find, but most places don't even mention the filtration process and as a vegan I really appreciate the heads up! Fourth: The Beer, it's delicious and crisp beer. There are no crazy flavors, nothing too extereme just classic and very well done beer. I went home with a 22 of American Ale (5 dollars) and a 6 pack of 413 (2 dollars a piece) and enjoyed my bounty. The American Ale is crisp and tastes like a perfect simple lager, the 413 has more flavor and very delicious. I wish that I lived closer to mass I'd be buying their beers more often.

Yelp
I love you guys and your brewery with all my heart! You are all a GEM in this town! Beer is ALWAYS delicious no matter what kind you get and their sour beers (which are a type from other brewers I almost never ever like) have sold me on a good sour! They nailed it. Perfectly. Can't wait for the Dead of Winter to be brewed again because I want an entire flat of it. Great atmosphere. Everybody in this place is just wonderful and I hope you stay forever!

Yelp
We went here before a wedding. Picnic tables and grilled food outside, ecletic tables and delicious beers inside! We each had a sampler ($5) and then shared a pint. It was a great deal! We really liked the IPA, double IPA, stout, and stout aged in rum barrels. The staff were extremely friendly, and the place had a great, laid-back vibe. Hope Big Elm makes its way to RI soon!

Yelp
Fantastic microbrews! My favorites were the 413, Transformer and (surprisingly) the stout (rich but light). I brought back a big case and some 6 packs to enjoy (with friends if they're nice!). Definitely worth the trip out and near the distillery, so good way to spend a day!

Yelp
Awesome tab room and great tours by the owners. Oh, and the beer is absolutely top notch.

Yelp
Great spot. Open on Saturdays only but the beer is worth the effort. Staff is super friendly and very eager to give tours of their facility. Favorite beer was the IPA. A nice spot.

Yelp
What a great afternoon sampling some great beer on a lovely August afternoon Megan was incredible showing fantastic hospitality. Thanks for the great tip on Guidos! Giant porterhouse and wonderful veggies on the grill thanks to you! Yes, complimented by some great brew from you.

Yelp
In the area for a wedding and was thrilled they had local beer to try. Had the IPA in a can......loved it. Ok, I loved it and the few that came after it. Only wish I could get it down by us.

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Good beer and friendly folks. I'm usually an IPA girl but their stout and Lion amber ale were my favorite. I'd definitely recommend this place as a stop or even a destination if you're in the mood for a drive.

Stefanie B.

Yelp
Such an amazing variety of beer and cool atmosphere. I really enjoy coming here when in the area. There is a really great deal on Groupon too!! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I can bike to this brewery. What more can I say. LOVE the raouchbeer, and friendly folks in the tasting room.

Joshua B.

Yelp
A very nice variety of beers for their samplers. The staff was friendly and helpful. And they had beer for sale in cans. What more can you ask for?

L R.

Yelp
Reasonable prices for flights and a free tour with the brewers themselves. Simple low-frills tasting room felt friendly and accessible. The beer was really good- half of our flight felt like real standouts

K B.

Yelp
A labor of love! The Heatons put heart and soul (as well as excellent quality and taste) into their brews. A must see/do if you are in berkshire county!
